Any tips/recs for upgrading a 2.0 cloneable that we've already built on to a 2.1? We've got a few projects started but would love to have these updates. Also thinking of when future updates roll out - how can we always keep our CF up-to-date with the latest "features"?
Hi guys - just wanted to say a huge thank you for all that you do. My brain doesn't work without structure first, and understanding a process fully ("just put that there for now" is my worst nightmare) so I really appreciate this flexible system you have created. Client First pushes all my buttons. The update is great! It just gets better and better in my opinion. You guys rock!
I think client-first is a great philosophy on paper, but in practice the cons heavily outweigh the pros. I agree with the changes; in fact, most I've implemented myself soon after learning the system. but these changes are kind of against the client-first philosophy, no?
Less nesting and leaning on variables is huge, goodbye div soup 🍲 You did mention you built this in collaboration with Relume - do you know if their library will be updated to reflect these changes? I love Relume but the nesting is a little wild and it's bad for SEO/ performance
@@bowiejackson There’s an SEO metric called HTML to content ratio, and more elements (not just divs) increase this ratio which may penalise rankings. It’s marked as a warning in SEMRush, not an error, so it’s not critical but it’s not easily avoidable with Relume in particular. Even if the effect on SEO is minimal it just feels bad having 9 levels of nesting for a h1 element..
client-first was great for getting me off the level-floor while learning webflow. naturally i began customizing the recommended approach to fit my own needs; the most notable change was combining global padding, horizontal section padding, and container size. I was anticipating FinSweet would do the same but find some sort of cool way to implement sizing variables.
Client-First is the most used framework in the Webflow community because it is easy to learn, uses clear names for classes without abbreviations, has a flexible spacing system, and does not rely on custom code. However, there are other great frameworks, like Lumos. It's a matter of preference.
Lol they never said they are better than coding but it is a faster solution comparison to coding when you just want a nicely designed marketing website.

How do I update my existing Relume Style Guide to the new version?

How so?

Divs are not bad for SEO at all. Why would you think so?

Thanks @stephena8965! Yes, Relume is updated to reflect all these changes.
@@Finsweet Amazing news! I pray for the dev who has to do that on their end if it can’t be automated 😂

🤯 To all involved. Your mind-blowing continued support and service to the WF community is awesome and appreciated. THANK YOU FOR THIS!!
It's time to build!
Hey Guys quick question, if I have an empty CMS plan (CF not cloned just empty project), how should I go about importing client first into the build?
Just cloned v2 this morning - put the brakes on, hit reverse and restarting to do my first site in the new 2.1 cloneable! :)
Good job team! What a milestone!
Love these updates! Thanks!
Mind-blowing updates. Can't wait to use the new version and am super excited for the future updates of Variables.
Nicely done!
Thanks for update. it is helpful😇
Exciting. Can’t wait to bring these updates to my new build 🎉
This is great!! Thanks for the update! Excited to build another project❤
Great!
Love the approach of using grids for spacing elements like you do at 0:50 ! Great idea!
When I don't need bottom section padding, how can do that?
your docs say "January 9, *2023*"
Great improvement!
Nice ! Thanks to the Finsweet Team.
Thank you Joe!
And it keeps getting better!
Thanks guys! great work 💯

Amazing, can’t wait to try! Is there a way to go to update my existing style guide to the new version?
Great updates! 👏

Can we expect an update of the 'Client-First Figma to Webflow kit" anytime soon?

Yes, very nice changes! Great work guys.
Great job guys!

Webflow has insane marketing, literally convincing idiots with money and in management position that this is better than coding
Lol they never said they are better than coding but it is a faster solution comparison to coding when you just want a nicely designed marketing website.
