    Roman not turning heel deserves a down but I really liked Wrestlemania. And I'm aware I'm saying this before I've watched the video.

      Adam Phillip there is no way Neville v Aries, who was a good match, were best than HHH v Rollins, Taker v Reigns (yeah slowly match but a great match is not about his amazing high fliyer moves, in my opinion is about the story telling) or Lesnar v Goldberg who was just awesome.

      Or, an much better, the ladder match for the tt titles of Raw were the FREAKING HARDY BOYZ RETURN!

  • @EmeraldZion

    We've got soo much to look forward to on Raw now, I'm finally being rewarded for sticking by it.
    Hardy Boyz as champs
    K.O as champ
    Lesnar as champ (although I didn't hate Goldberg)
    Finn balor
    Roman getting destroyed by boos
    Seth Rollins being one up on Triple H and Steph
    and I don't know if it will really happen but hopefully...
    Kurt Angle announced as GM

      sam I still really wanted Cena vs Taker. At least if Cena retired Taker, it would've meant a whole lot more because of how big Cena is and I'm pretty sure the buildup and storytelling those two could have had would have been amazing. It just didn't feel nearly as big at all with Roman.

    • @popetaytv

      OMNITAINMENT what do you mean the point of his character. it's not hard to get, he's turning big brute with a royal bloodline, who feels he's clearly the guy running shit these days. Somebody had to take over the role of full time shit kicker. You can't sell Rollins, Styles, Wyatt, KO, and Ambrose as many things and they deserve their spot in the top guy circle with Reigns. But he's the only one who can really fill that Batista type role. I mean if hardcore fans can see Sami is the never say die underdog, idk why they act like they can't get Reigns character or pretend he doesn't have one.

      @ShaggyJ1000 7 лет назад +5

      Sam Emaus I know right. The mania was phenomenal (no pun to AJ) I thought Simon would giving ups like he was shooting bullets in the air but it was just so many downs before the ups, like he just forcefully enjoyed it. I always look forward to Simons ups and downs but this one was...meh. Then again, this is Simons opinion.

    • @brantc5083
      @brantc5083 7 лет назад +16

      Actually it makes sense. Simon is a really positive guy, so he had really positive expectations for the biggest stage of them all - high expectations which weren't quite met.
      Most of the typical folk who watch and comment are used to being crapped on from WWE and have a much more cynical and apathetic take on events - so a year buildup left these fans with really low expectations of Wrestlemania. He anticipated an A performance and got a B-, and we all expected a D- and got a B-. All about expectations.

      Taker chooses his wrestlemania opponents. He doesn't always get his first choice but he gets the option to choose. He wanted Cena to retire him but they threw together the Miz/Cena bullshit because Vince wanted Roman to get the big moment.

    • @GraveysBrewery
      @GraveysBrewery 7 лет назад +13

      Agreed.
      My biggest bugbear is when people use a phrase such as "us/we fans" when speaking about something that they and maybe a small portion of the audience doesn't like (Roman defeating Taker for example), and trying to make out that the same opinion is held by billions of fans worldwide.

      Jack Ballard 100% agreed I've noticed over the last year or so watching these vids along with reading the dirtsheets takes away from my enjoyment of the product. I now read wayyy to much into each match

    • @harlequeen93
      @harlequeen93 7 лет назад +10

      I disagree, I think it adds to the product. BUT I do think stuff like this should be taken in doses. I stopped reading dirt sheets because they don't really add anything to the product as you watch it, and even videos like this shouldn't be the gospel. However I do think a positive of analyzing wrestling (or any media) is that we can commiserate with other fans and share in the joys and complaints of the product. It's because of fan engagement that a lot of things have happened in the current product (growth of NXT, focusing on indie darlings and international circuits, etc). I guess I don't think it's inherently a good or bad thing, it's really just what fans make of it. But I see your point.

      @baggyball756 7 лет назад +7

      the tombstone was actually botched by undertaker not being able to reach his legs over romans shoulders go re-watch it, also I thought it ended well, it took romans 'almighty' spear 4 times and one through a table and one supercharged just to put him to rest for a final time. its quite beautiful actually. better than roman hitting one spear and pinning him 123 like triple h last year. and I think they made the match slow on purpose to show everyone that taker was done and couldn't go anymore hense the retirement (similar to Austin vs the rock).

      Undertaker should have won the rumble sparking Bray vs Taker for the main event, you've got the story that Bray lost to him last time so how can he beat Taker.
      Orton and Wyat could have feuded before Mania, with Orton burning down the house and allowing Bray to 'power up' with Sister Abigail's ashes bringing his power level up to Undertakers level.
      Then you retire Undertaker but he puts over another supernatural power, which is kinda poetic.

At least this Wrestlemania had KO and Jericho which was good AJ vs Shane which was better than anyone expected, the Hardyz which was amazing and Triple H vs Rollins which was match of the night. Hell even Goldberg vs Lesnar was Hard Hitting and much better than Both their Survivor Series and WM 20 matches

      It was definitely a great show have no idea what people are complaining about. Agree 100% with the gripes too. Wasn't sure if Cena made a mock of the match to make the Miz look bad or if it was shot at WWE for putting him in the match to begin with. Or bit of both i guess. Wyatt losing is just a waste

    HHH v Rollins was great imo. Fantastic storytelling and great pacing. MOTN for me. Hardys returning made me orgasm, I think. The tag match was great too. Women's match was solid. Shane v AJ and KO/Y2J were decent as well. The proposal was a cool moment too. Main event delivered imo. It was a solid match with great storytelling. They managed to get a few cool spots in as well. Before anyone bitches about Roman. Taker is the most old school guy, ever. He would never go out with a win. There are rumors of Taker wanting Roman himself. The send off had me close to crying and that very rarely happens.
    Bray v Orton was a disaster. Mixed tag was shit. SD Women's title match was.. There. I don't know what to feel about Lesnar v Goldberg. At least it's over.
    Overall: 6.5/10. Much better than expected.

    What Reigns haters fail to realize is that WWE is working them worse ever before. You know what people never notice? Nowadays, every heel get cheered (Wyatt, AJ, Owens, Corbin, the list goes on and on). That fucks with the dynamic of wrestling and makes feuds less enjoyable. With every wrestling feud, fans need a guy to cheer and a guy to boo. Except heels can't get natural heat nowadays with all the smarkyness. How do you solve this problem? How do you get a guy to draw heat in today's WWE? You "shove him down the fans throat" that draws heat, that creates the dynamic. HHH even said this in an interview once. How does no one see it? Reigns haters are a #newkindofmark

    I feel people are too hard on Wrestlemania this year. Okay, the overall show was one of the better ones in the last 15 years. Yeah it was 5 hours long, but honestly, I feel the show thrived from being longer. Everyone knows the WWE have SO much talent right now, it's ridiculous, it's one of the best rosters in history in terms of how good Everyone is, not just a select few like the Attitude Era. So they wanted to use a good chunk of them, each one told their own story, every match was alright at the worst. AJ/Shane was better than everyone anticipated, KO/CJ was fun to watch. The HARDYZ,....holy shit. Seth Rollins winning thrives his character since he slayed his demon. And Taker retiring was emotional for everybody. We'll just have to watch Raw and Smackdown to see where these wins and losses take everyone. Overall, a great Wrestlemania and can probably place in one of the better ones in recent memory.

    I normally find myself agreeing with Simon, but here, he can suck it. Maybe it was harder to feel the emotion during the main event because he was watching at home, but I was there live and was totally heart-wrenching as the match went on because what we all dreaded was slowly becoming more and more to fruition. I was also fortunate enough to have been there at WM 24 also, and this match with Taker was far more emotionally draining for me than Flair's retirement was. I honestly started crying during the post-match segment when Taker was folding up his clothes and taking his final walk up the ramp. And I'm a 31 year old guy.
