I have a question. You have a pre-filter on your on your canister filter. Does it give you more time before you need to clean the canister filter? I use one on my 40 gallon grow out tank and I'm woundering if pre-filter will give me a little more time before the canister filter will need to be cleaned. I have to give to credit for a nice tank setup. I wish my lady would let me get a 120 but she caped me off at 75 gallon. LoL
@@rimc4378 yes sir absolutely a prefilter will extend cleaning your canister. But you do need to clean the prefilter depending on how messy your fish are I clean all my prefilter about every 2 weeks. I have pre filters on all my filters no matter if it's a hang on back or canister. You can get them at aquarium co-op he has I think 3 sizes. Thanks for the question that is a great question
@razinfishes1918 Thank you for the information it's much appreciated! Because I have over 250 small fish I clean the pre-filter every week. As I don't want it to burn up my canister motor do to blockage.
@@HUKIT. That is only when the wave makers are running. As I mentioned they are on a timer. They run for 30 min to an hour 3 time a day. When I was recording they were running thus you see all the fish facing the current
I alway wondered... Now I know... Fish , filters and flow
@@stubbsaquatics6080 lol I'm pretty sure you already know. You're a pretty smart fella

Sure sand is clean but the extra flow makes the tank extremely boring. The fish are all facing the same direction into flow to conserve energy.
