Carol is an absolute gem! I really admire her openness and we should definitely all over-share a little bit more.
To answer your sister’s question, I think the best thing about you is your adventurousness. Whether that’s literally exploring caves or metaphorically stepping outside your comfort zone to make awesome videos like this one. Keep at it, Elise. 😊

Thank you, Lewis ! I promise I didn't pay her to say that !! Haha. That's very kind of you to say :)

I had to stop halftime through to write this comment: This is brilliant! Without your sympathetic personality this format would not work. You just started this but I would say this is already a really, really good show and a perfect fit for you.

Socially awkward? You come across as very warm and genuine, not socially awkward at all.. You have a really good style when talking to people on the street, it feels very natural.

It's crazy to think about all the people we pass, mostly ignoring how real and in-depth they are. It was a privilege hearing these people's stories and learning about Manchester from their viewpoints.
Elise, I think you have a gift in connecting with people and opening them up. This has been my favorite of your adventures so far.
And hello, Elise's sister! It's so nice to meet you!

Thank you, as far as super powers go, talking to people might be the best one to have ! It means a lot 💕

People are right about the weather. It was raining cats and dogs, when I went to Manchester.

An absolutely brilliant piece - fantastic people with real stories to tell - reported in a sensitive, humble, receptive, articulate and very human way - attributes which are all too rare today - keep on doing what you are doing Elise - don't rush to join the mainstream as you are better than them. World class!

This is the most honest account of Manchester I've heard. From a 37 year old born there I can sum it up for you. Great to shop in, horrible to live in. Nobody speaks to each other out of fear. Everyone tells you they're friendly, but makes no effort to show it. Oh and now it's mini London all the beers a 6 quid... Move out! 😂

Being from the States, I think of all the bands that were on Factory Records and the series Life on Mars when I hear the name Manchester. Oh, and Manchester Michigan, which is like an hour from me.

Really beautiful journalist. As a person when I asked people to talk usually they refuse. You are lovely, well behaved, and friendly--- people spontaneously talk with you. I am trying to learn from you during interviewing.

Elise, that was wonderful! You picked some amazing people to talk to!
You sound just like your sister, or does she sound like you 😜 also at 15:00 - how much did you pay her to say that? 😜
I think the stress thing that you picked up is virtue of a big city vibe that you can get - it’s similar in London - the biggest place I’ve lived in, Exeter, is much more chilled out in comparison (or is it because the south west is sunnier??)
Anyway, I loved this and you are a brilliant interviewer and far braver than I would be - keep it up :)

I really like your videos. I'm thinking of moving to Sheffield from Canada so your other video showed up on my feed. I was born in Manchester so this video is cool too.
