Odin had such insatiable thirst for knowledge...it's not surprising he was heading for trouble as he continued to pursue knowledge. Thanks again for bringing the Norse mythos alive, LIghtbringer and Baldermort.
Odin, and his continuing mission, to seek out new knowledge and new incantations, to find lost wisdom and draw out new thoughts, to Boldly Know like no-one has Known Before!!
I love how everyone's always calling Loki the trickster God when really the end of the day. Loki never does anything that doesn't get himself another serious amount of trouble like he always gets caught. He barely ever gets away by the skin of his teeth. Yet you have Odin here going through story after story of him using his wits and his guile to basically get everything he wants and end at the end of the day. Sits on the throne and just like yep I am still the king
@@livingmythology1405 I wonder if you have heard of the Bock Saga ? I would love to see a video on that. There's a fictional version and a nonfiction version by Carl Borgen .. It's a fascinating Saga about the origins of mankind, the North Pole, the Ragnaroks etymology, and the changes that happened as a result of the Ragnarok. Atlantis (all land ice) and the continuation of mankind by domestication of animals and cultivation of agriculture. Like I said it's fascinating. I am convinced that there is much truth in the Bock Saga. I would love to watch a video and I am sure your viewers would enjoy it as well. Thank you for this channel. I thoroughly enjoy your work and I have learned great things from it.
I thought so little about north mythology, how foolish I was. Thank u for opening my eyes, I really appreciate your job, thank u again uncle Baldemord and Lightbringer
To fight against the fate, even if all says that your end is unchangeable. Love this look into life. Much like one of my favorite poems. "Do not go softly into that long night, Rage, Rage, Rage against the dying of the light"
Absolutely love the stories retold by you two. Have you thought about uploading the video onto spotify? I want to share with my friends, but they don't have youtube premium to listen to them at work/driving without clicking different videos on youtube.
If we can work out a way to stay afloat and do that, we will. We just don't know about spotify and most state its just about sponsorships. We won't get any of those as its so niche and not particularly popular. Sorry again.
@@livingmythology1405 Hey, no need to be sorry. I completely understand, and I didn't think about ad revenue vs sponsors. I don't use spotify, so I'm not sure how it worked over there. Thanks again for explaining it to me! I've got my friends watching here when they can. :)
I truly enjoy the production and performance of these stories, and I am excited at each new upload. One bit of feedback regarding the writing though. "And yet" is a phrase that is starting to be really overused in your writing. Hopefully you can vary your narrative a little more in future uploads.
It’s a bardic style. So repetition creates flow. Like it or not, that’s on purpose. Read the Iliad. It’s a common trait of that style. 😊 But I hear you.
HEAR ME ODIN !!! I will beat Fadr and I will break free from this purgatory, from Valheim !!! I shall be in Valhalla !! Till we meet then , oh Allfather !! PS : Pls stop stalking me, you effin creep xD Love the vids, keep 'em comming !
He is well thank you for asking - tired and working hard but doing well my friend! Thank you for subscribing! We hope you enjoy all the tales to come! - Lightbringer
obviously ODin the ALL FATHER ! was not ALL KNOWING! so Not a GOD: He was A Mighty King of the North! As you know the First gods were named after planets and Weather ! So the kings who described themselves as god also represented one of these icons and became the avatar hence STROM GOD THOR! suplanting his father (ZEUS) his father (ODIN(Chronus))!
From my understanding, Odin is where we get the day named Wednesday. (WOdinsday). Just like Thursday is Thorsday. Connected to the planets, Wednesday is Mercury’s day. Thursday is Jupiter’s day. So, I’ve associated Odin with Mercury. In Greek mythology, Hermes is associated with Mercury. Jupiter with Zeus. It’s just all so fascinating!
Baldermort's voice is quite fitting for Odin.

Are the norns considered gods?

Odin was known for being cunning. Odin saw a little of himself in Loki when they met. He was enamored with Loki enough to take a blood bond.
Odin was such a trickster that he passed that title to Loki, and no one noticed
Another masterpiece from Ser Bald and his talented daughter.
Thank you Lightbringer and Baldermort, I know nothing of Norse mythology so these videos have been really educational and entertaining!
Glad you like them! :)
@@livingmythology1405do you plan to do celtic mythology?
Thanks for the deep lore Lightbringer and crew!
This may be the best retelling of Odin's story that I have ever heard. Well done.
Thank you so so much! That means a lot to us!

We’d get zero revenue. We do this for many reasons. But we do need to eat.
@@baldermort No, that's definitely okay! I'll just make them listen while they're at home on their PC instead.

Hm, so Odin is Tom Bombadill?
And Goldberry is Freya....
Hmm... excellent theory.
So Loki is either morgoth or sauron.
Odin's wife Frigga must be Melian.
