  • Havamal - The Words Of Odin The High One - Ancient Nordic Viking Wisdom Audiobook. Hávamál is presented as a single poem in the Codex Regius, a collection of Old Norse poems from the Viking age. The poem, itself a combination of numerous shorter poems, is largely gnomic, presenting advice for living, proper conduct and wisdom. It is considered an important source of Old Norse philosophy. I've always felt like I lived by these words all my life, though I was raised Christain I never felt a true connection. But now as a recently new believer in Norse-Paganism and truly believe in the words of Odin, I believe in the power of Thor and the love of Freyja and all the other God's that have watched over me through my thick and thin; I'm coming up on 11 months sober from Crystal Meth/Heroin/Crack and they were there, all the time. And now I live in Nature and work at a bait shop and was thinking of giving the God's an offering. Well, a kid came by wanting to buy a handful of minnows for his pet turtle I just gave them to him for free. His mother said "say thanks Odin." Yeah the kid's name was Odin.

Animals are all about exploiting nature, humanoids species are just better at it. Fingers ,legs and more advanced brains. Bipeds are not in a state of genetic advancement but the opposite, We are less intelligence then hundreds of years ago. We simple managed to stock pile knowledge ,have a way to access it and add to the pile. Most progress of useful knowledge is created by a small portion of the population and manufactured by much larger portions of the populations. The few possible ways we may be able to swing things back in a positive direction may require destroying nature, forcing us to survive using technology, resources and artificial structures. Last period where humanoids show some manner of genetic advancement was during the ice age using primitive tools with a extremely high death rate of adults and children. The wolf weed the slowest deer, remove the predators for enough generations and the deer become less fleet of foot. The deer who are to slow or don't behave right die again and again, one of the reason female deer abandon fawns when in danger. Cats used to kidnap fawns and use them to spring traps on their mother. Cats rarely use this hunting method anymore. Rare for it to work anymore. The deer gives into its fear and runs. the reproduction and destruction of genes. A selective process. Some survive to produce and others do not, the surviving deer will continue to produce even after the fawn is eaten creating a new fawn to take its place. humanoids need more knowledge to survive then a deer. Giving away all its advantages for a larger brain and the ability to create tools, humanoids need both the knowledge of creating and the knowledge of foes and dangers to survive. A good parent gives them such knowledge, giving them some ability to survive until becoming wiser. Humanoids biggest foe is not a bear or a jungle cat but other humanoids. Mans greatest enemy is man. Criminal doctors, gangs, corrupted governments , jealous hate freaks are all major threats.

As a male who has always been really shy and socially awkward, I feel like a lot of these observations are things that men have to just figure out on their own in order to really understand and use it practically. Some males learn it early on and they seem normal when they get into courting age, but for late bloomers, nerds, shy guys, etc it takes much longer. I was always oblivious to those nonverbal cues women use to indicate interest or intent, so I was rarely successful in my dating endeavors. But looking back, I realize I was actually the "mysterious, charming, smart guy" whenever I wasn't trying so hard. Even women I thought to be way out of my league were interested in me whenever I'd just relax and stop giving a shit what anyone thought. Any topic I'm knowledgeable of and interested in I can talk about passionately, and I love sharing knowledge with others, so that was usually how I unintentionally acted like myself because when I'm thinking or sharing info, I'm not thinking about romance at all so I don't try to be suave or anything else that could be construed as fake. I also have BPD, so that played a big role in my awkwardness and lack of dating in my teens and twenties, because I tend to naturally apply negative connotations to other people's reactions and would end up basically blind to anything less direct than a woman telling me to my face,"Let's have sex". I remember how frustrated I'd get when people would say "just be yourself", because I don't even know who that is/was (identity problems are common in cluster B disorders), but as I've aged, experienced more, observed more, and studied more, I eventually realized these things. There's some advice that just can't be passed on, or maybe it's that some people just can't apply some advice until they learn the hard way. But to any frustrated young men that may read this, you'll figure it out eventually. Just enjoy life, live in the present, and focus on bettering yourself, and everything else will fall into place. Don't try so hard romantically; try hard everywhere else (school, work, health, etc).

...and we very much respect and appreciate this contribution to society.
It's rather interesting, how over the last 3000 years, Indo-European cultures and spiritualities have starkly diverged. Hindu spirituality of course being: world rejecting (seeking to escape this life 'cycle'), and Northern Tradition being of course: World Accepting (perfectly content in this world).

I would say that’s not broadly Hindu, that’s more Buddhist and Vedantic line of thought to be world denying. Hinduism, the main denominations anyway (Vaishnavas, Shaivites, etc.) still hold some of those life affirming “aristocratic” aryan values and traditions, although they have adopted some traditions and values from the pre-aryan inhabitants of India, who were theorized to be more ascetic and passive. Northern tradition and broadly Germanic tradition affirms life, and let’s man understand his place in nature and in the universe, and views everything around us as inherently spiritual and in some cases worthy of reverence, full of life, not mere flawed matter to be rejected.

@@chivalrousjack The Indo/european culture is a continuation of the ancient Vedic culture which spread across the Aryan lands of the Middle East, across the Bosphorus river and throughout Europe and the British Isles. The classic Greco/Roman empire, the Norse, the Celtic and the Slavic races are all remnants of an ancient culture which spread from Vedic shores.
      ~
Veda describes a populated universe maintained by gods and goddesses who serve as empowered representatives of an all powerful Supreme being. The home of these gods is known as “Meru” a cosmic axial mountain upon which the gods dwell. The Greeks named it “Mount Olympus” and amongst the Norse we find their gods dwelling upon the mountain of “Asgarde”.
      ~
“Asgarde” is from “Aesir” meaning the “gods” which is from the Sanskrit root “asu” meaning “spirit” and “Asura” meaning “divine” the “divine gods”. The second part of the name is from the Sanskrit “grha” meaning “home” “domestic” “grasping” hence “Asgarde” is formed from Sanskrit meaning “the home ( grha ) of the gods ( asura )”.
      ~
The King of “Asgarde” the god of the Norse is “Odin” a name which seems to come from “Woden” the Old Saxon god of the wind. “Woden” is the Indo/euro root “wa” meaning to “blow” its source being the Sanskrit “va” meaning to “blow” as seen in the Vedic god of the wind “Vata”.
      ~
The German storm god “Woden” was known as “Wode” a simple evolution as “V” becomes “W” and “T” becomes “D” hence the Vedic god of the wind “Vata” becomes the German god of the wind “Wode” and the Old Saxon “Woden” immortalised as the fourth day of the week “Wednesday” and a name which becomes “Odin” the god of the Norse and the King of “Asgarde”.
      ~
The wife of “Odin” is “Frigg” the Queen of heaven and the goddess of love, her name meaning “beloved” “loving” “wife” its source being the Sanskrit “priya” meaning “beloved” “loving” “wife” and just as “Woden” is immortalised as “Wednesday” the goddess “Frigg” becomes “Friday”.
      ~
“P” becoming a European “F” is a common theme as seen in the Sanskrit “priya” becoming “free” and “friend” the Sanskrit “pitr” becoming “father” the Sanskrit “panca” becoming “five” and the Sanskrit “pluta” becoming “float” and similarly “priya” becomes the Norse goddess “Frigg”.
      ~
Hence we have “Asgarde” which is Sanskrit, we have “Odin” the King of “Asgarde” which is most probably Sanskrit and we have “Frigg” the wife of “Odin” which is definitely Sanskrit, a reflection of how the ancient Sanskrit language is found throughout the Norse civilisation of Europe.
      ~
" The primitive West Europeans had called the god “Wodenaz” this later developed into Wuotan (Old High German) and Wodan (Old Saxon). It is generally believed that he was first thought of as a sky deity, perhaps a wind or storm god with great wisdom and with some sort of powers over life and death. This may be evidenced by the derivation of Wodenaz from an Indo-European word, parent also of the Sanskrit vata and the Latin ventus, both meaning 'wind'. He could be compared to the Hindu Lord of the Wind, Vata, and the German storm giant Wode." - Buckland's Book of Saxon Witchcraft - Raymond Buckland.

Kind sir with these great books. Your channel is 🔥! Never witnessed suck a library in one place. Bravo from Tennessee. You commented below asking us or someone to tell you more Norse Literature. Sir. I'm going to speak of a tale in Wich I find no equal on earth. Odin appears to men,men become wolves, a youth pulls the sword from the stone, Fafnir is fought, Brynhild sleeps in the flame awaiting some brave hero to break Odin's sleep curse( yes it's where sleeping beauty comes from. Violence, treachery, runes. The VOLSUNG SAGA! Also this Havamal. It's located in the poetic Edda book 2. Book one Odin raises a dead witch and makes her tell all the dead witch knows. We learn of the inescapabilty of FATE! WE LEARN OF RUNES. Also see Prose Edda. The saga in second half of poetic Edda is another version of the VOLSUNG SAGA. That's your BIG 3 of the Norse Bible. Many pagans see the Edda's as equal with scripture. Great channel

All the new age /old age seems to speak of opening to be more receptive, however it seems many are born with this knowledge and know not how to shield themselves from their own mind. "Frigg" is the wife of "Odin" the Queen of heaven and the goddess of love, her name meaning "beloved" "loving" "wife" its source being the Sanskrit "Priya" meaning "beloved" "loving" "wife" and just as "Woden" is immortalised as "Wednesday" the goddess "Frigg" becomes "Friday".
    ~
"P" becoming a European "F" is a common theme which is seen in the Sanskrit "Panca" becoming "five" the Sanskrit "Pluta" becoming "float" the Sanskrit "Pitr" becoming "father" and here we find the Sanskrit "Priya" becomes the Norse goddess "Frigg".
    ~
And so we have "Asgard" which is Sanskrit and we have "Odin" which is related to Sanskrit and we have his wife "Frigg" which is definitely Sanskrit, all of which reflects the Sanskrit and Vedic influence upon the Ancient civilisation of the Norse.
    ~
"The primitive West Europeans had called the god “Wodenaz” this later developed into Wuotan (Old High German) and Wodan (Old Saxon). It is generally believed that he was first thought of as a sky deity, perhaps a wind or storm god with great wisdom and with some sort of powers over life and death." Buckland's Book of Saxon Witchcraft - Raymond Buckland.
    ~
"This may be evidenced by the derivation of Wodenaz from an Indo-European word, parent also of the Sanskrit vata and the Latin ventus, both meaning 'wind'. He could be compared to the Hindu Lord of the Wind, Vata, and the German storm giant Wode." - Buckland's Book of Saxon Witchcraft - Raymond Buckland.

@@parmykumar8592 The Aryan invasion theory is not BS. Upper caste Indian society has roots in BMAC civilization, and before that it is in the Eurasian steppe. It was ancient custom for young warrior men (Koryos, Mannerbunde) to invade other tribes and become the new aristocratic elite.

I like that these words are spread, but the mother wit, there is NO MENTION OF A MOTHER IN HAVAMAL. THOSE ARE THE INTERPRETATION OF OLIVE BREA ( I am not sure of spelling), but hat was an English idiom, mother wit. HAVAMAL says mann vit=man wit, knowledge. Not try to be a smart ass, just the actual fact of the original text that is preserved.

Is there just using it to spread hatred and bigotry? The the edit itself says one's brother as a brother. No matter whose mother we all come from the same stock. We're all for national, so why can't we all just get along like family? Oh, that's right, because families like constantly. That's why the world is the way it is
