“There’s no excuse for the man who rejects the truth once it proven.” The only thing that matters in life…is the truth.
🙏
But what about when the "truth" has been falsely "proven" ? What one considers to be proven true another can easily claim the proof was falsified. Not to mention the way the corporate media handles "truth" by twisting it to further an evil agenda.
I disagree. Truth is not what matters most in life. Honor, integrity, sticking to one's morals and ethics even in the face of tyranny. THAT is what's most important in life.
That's *exactly* why we can't excuse the *wokes* ; the ones who believe the Earth is *flat* , and that the Roman empire never existed.
@@neowolf09
That’s interesting, let me ask you this: how does one have honor and not the truth?; how does one have integrity and not the truth?; how does one have moral and ethics and not have the truth?; how does differentiate just rule from tyranny and not have the truth? No, friend, truth is the foundation, walls, and ceiling regarding everything.
@@Priestbokmei1 But what's true to you isn't always true to another.
What's seen as evil to one is seen as good by another.
To know yourself, to know your own truth, and to stick to it in the face of adversity. That is more important. At least from my perspective.
"Where you recognize evil, speak out against it, and give no truces to your enemies." A quote so desperately needed in the West and primarily the Anglosphere.
And in the East as well.
reminds me of something my grandad used to say.
"dont believe something simply because it is written"
I miss him every day, he taught me to think critically and it truely made me a better person.
🙏
Try telling that to Christians
@@MrDeano-eu9rg Or anyone who mindlessly follow the herd. I am Christian. I do not follow the herd. I have a brain that loves to research concepts & theories I've been taught. Please unbias your psychology of this mindless statement regarding Christianity, as your statement can include a variety of religions. Thank you for your time. Have a nice day!
"be wary of the man who urges an action in which he himself incurs no risk"

My favorite quote is "Eigi fellr tré við fyrsta högg" or "a tree does not fall with the first blow"
How could they be so ruthless with such wisdom. They sound so respectful.
🙏
They were historically just as ruthless if not less ruthless than the English of the time. You can't trust everything you see.
History is written by the victors. In the time of the Vikings anything not "Christian" was evil.
@@userjasker76 exactly
Winners write the history, I doubt they would write about how honorable and cool they were
"speak usefully words or be silent"
This has always been me.
What is useful about this egotistical proclamation?
NOT necessarily true. Enjoy speaking anything you want freely and enjoy without any rules as long as you don’t hurt yourself and others. Like making funny jokes and being creative and innovative needs stupidity sometimes
@@priyakulkarni9583 its not like i make an effort to be silent.
I just _am_ silent. 🤷 I just have little desire to speak unless spoken to, or i hear a conversation i reeeally want to join in on. Which is super rare.

Fixed it for you.
Here's my favorite quote from the Havamal:
"Never walk
away from home
ahead of your axe and sword.
You can't feel a battle
in your bones
or foresee a fight."
Sometimes you know though.
I like that. You could put it next to "the man who carries an axe looking for a fight will always find one".
I just like that im finally seeing viking quotes and not something that makes me even more depressed than I already am
Fuck depression. Cast away the stones holding you down and start making sacrifices. A busy mind has no time to waste on sadness. For me, my two biggest stones were video games and giving myself unchecked time on the internet.
@@fortyninehike Idle hands.. we all know the rest.
Well here comes depression again. None of these are Viking quotes, there is no record or writings from them. The blue tattoos they supposedly had is even 100% myth. Even the history of Viking pagan beliefs were told by 2 Christian monks who claimed they were met and recorded the story by Asgardians. Vikings left nothing other than carved symbols and stories told of them by others, apparently Vikings are the epitome of not snitching...
@@nooodls1 Very little of what you wrote is true.
The majority of these are from Hávamál, in various verses. They were written down in the Codex Regius and are much older than the book is.
The tattoos were not scandinavian in any way. Those were Pictish or whatever the tribes were that were displaced and bothered by the Romans.
@@nooodls1 ... those blue tattoos are of the picts...
What I love most about the Hávamál is that even if you’re not a Heathen, it’s great advice for anyone to live by.

@Beverley L Foster the fuck are you on about?

That's because Google heard u. But it's good to know your not the only one alone in this demon driven paradise we call earth. It was once said to me " a man's worth is only qualifies by his word and actions.
It's interesting to me that people are surprised that ancient people had insight. Other than language and a little cultural variation, there's not a great deal of intellectual or emotional difference between you and I and the ancient Egyptians, or ancient Greeks, or any other people from the distant past. We've had a great deal of technological advancement, but the shared experience of being human is as old as humanity. They've found clay tablets written in cuneiform where people complained about things like not being invited to parties or how much they hated their mother-in-laws. Our earliest ancestors felt love and loss, hate and shame, joy and sorrow, fear and pride--everything a human being can feel, they felt. They recognized the difference between a foolish act and a wise one. They struggled with good and evil. They baked bread, drank beer and wine, argued about politics, cheated on their spouses, worried about their kids--everything that people do, we've always done. All we have that they didn't is a larger accumulation of technical know-how. They were every bit as human as we are, and we are every bit as human as they were. I don't know why, but I find that extremely poignant. You and I are part of something that's been going on longer than anyone could possibly remember, and there's a great deal of hope in that.
I agree Andrew, I just wish we still were limited to swords and bows and medieval weapons (ja it may get to that lol, hope not) but the reason I would prefer that is that you would need to have some guts and skill and the respect and loyalty of your fellow warriors, if you didn't have their respect - there would be a good reason for that, the person would be untrustworthy. - nobody would have your back, and there were severe consequences for being disloyal, especially amongst the other men, cos they kept you alive in shieldwall. In those days Masculinity was respected - because it kept all the people alive, theres nothing toxic about protecting your family and village, but somehow having the propensity and even skill for violence, strategy and tactics (which is a survival skill) is now labelled toxic... so the things that kept us alive until today are labelled evil and rejected. Id like to see how the 'new' virtues hold out for the next 3000 years lol... the most prised virtue in my native culture WAS loyalty - but todays culture has destroyed that, so if civilisation is challenged then those virtues of old will very quickly become important as the communities that embrace them will be the only ones to survive. just my uneducated opinion
"Do not bow to stupidity, merely because it is old..."
Words that have been very true in my life.

Tackle your goals one at a time. Finish it, rejoice in it, and move on.

A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step.
Rome wasn't built in a day.
There's a lot of versions of that same idea.
But its good to know them in their different context, as they apply to different aspects of duties, tasks, principles and goals.
One has to have them woven in wisdom, not simply look at how they are similar. To what are you going to use each one and apply them. Thats the point. You cannot say rome was not built in a day and have that applied to someones certain time frame or goal, for its context is way out of range, these philosophers are talking specifics on different yet more useful aspects.
If some people would have had these type of knowledge and wisdom, they may not have given up on their goals. Alot of us quit when it's tough, like Thomas Edison said, Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up and Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.
One must learn either to pace themselves with diciplined planning and action, and or ask for help, have the right counsel, and right resources, this is not a easy task for some people, most of us hit a wall and get discouraged, some quit, yet these philosophers and prophets and business men show us many have faced similar tasks and have overcome them, we must be the ones to overcome our goals as well.
@@connorstar164 gonna saved this so i can read it and remember
@@soulextract640 In a general sense, i like to stick with the more modern guys, which is related to more business aspects, it sparks quicker processing, thats why I wouldnt wanna make it a vendetta to dive too much into these historical philosophers, but some of their teachings is to a degree astounding and useable in other areas of our lives.
To make it seem doable, they remind me of having callused thought, a structure for your mind, like Marcus Tellius said, a room without books is like a body without a soul.
Jim rhon says that all the time, you can tell and gauge alot about a man of woman, by looking into their library. Which is a part of their mental factory, he use to read the newspapers, and news about random tragedies, which depletes our focus and drives us of course, while he became stoutly efficient in work and habits, and fundamental by reading and being around more productive goal driven people.
We too must do that constantly and consistently to grow and gain more knowledge and wisdom more so applicable ones. Not random ones but useable ones we can practice.

It's interesting to find yourself living by these "rules" of common sense before you've even learned them.
There are MANY more great quotes in the poetic eda (I think that's what it's called) which is supposedly words written by Odin himself to teach people these common sense thought processes.

The Poetic Edda, and all other Eddas and Sagas, are written by man. The Havamal is the book allegedly written by Odin.
The Eddas were written by men. The Havamal is a collection of the thoughts of Odin.

I can appreciate the diverse philosophical traditions in which this channel samples. I enjoy even further that they are kept to their borders. Great folly comes with the fallacy of the melting pot. in the melting pot there is no distinction or respect for the ingredients. offered as they are on this channel as separate and distinct their wisdom shines for any to recognize. I shall hope throughout my life that the folkish View of heathen re-remains to combat a Universalist corruption.
Well spoken words friend. You make a good point.
Infinite diversity tends to reduce all of humanity to one great rudderless grey mulch with neither respect nor appreciation for heritage and culture. So much is lost and destroyed in a melting pot.

I like the one that said "Ill it is to abandon honor and Integrity in exchange for injustice and greed". If that doesn't speak of what has become of this nation and world, I don't know what does. And the one that said "Affection is mutual when men can open all their hearts to each other: He whose words are always fair is untrue and not to be trusted" was pretty deep. Had to think for a few seconds about what that meant. That was a good one. Incase people are wondering you can't be fair to everyone all the time is essentially what it means. Not if your heart is telling the full truth.
I kinda took that one to mean that you should be cautious of a person that only has nice things to tell you.
