I hope it is 100+ base species not including cross-breeding. As someone who enjoys building a "living dex" the more pals the better.
The crossbreeds we've seen so far just seem to be an alternate type version of one of the parents. Since that would potentially mean more combinations than the total number of baseline species, we could easily have hundreds of potential crossbreeds from the 53 species we've seen so far.

Wow, this looks really really good. I've been a little skeptical of this game, but the actual gameplay and UI looks really great
When he grabbed the seed it said Destruction Beam. So it looks like it tells you what the move is when you hover over them.
I mean if what I'm reading on the screen is correct, The Skill fruits list what move it will teach them. Said "Skillfruit: Destruction beam" when he plucked it off the tree. What I want to know is if you can plant them and farm them.

Answering your question from 1:56, the actual damage you do as a player is very low the higher level the enemy pal is. Usually, you get the same amount of XP from killing the pal as you would capturing them. Both you and the Pal would get the same amount of XP if I remember correctly. Its better to attack using your pal than any weapon you, the player, have because of how high XP a lot of the higher level pals are.
By handiwork, its things like building the furniture laid down, crafting, etc, so yeah thats accurate
