  • This video is going to help you understand why you overlook a potential partners destructive, selfish or immature behavior.
It is very easy to overlook red flags from people we just started dating. Once we start to become intimate with them our brain releases all kinds of chemicals that makes us feel good and bond with them. That feeling of being in love is a high that causes us to ignore warning signs.

I grew up as a JW (Jehovah's Witness) I married at 20...my first husband was also a Witness and he was extremely abusive in every way possible. I'm not saying all JWs are this way, but, I will agree that there is a lot of repression and lack of knowledge about relationships and the reality of what to expect. Almost a'Pollyanna' type of approach and and expectation of how the wife (in my case) should be submissive...what a nightmare that relationship was...I know better now. Thank you so much for these videos...they are so validating what some of us have been through and and helpful with future relationships!

Thank you so much for this video Craig. I can see that i have done exactly the things the mentioned girl did and all the guys i ever dated were avoidant! This changed my life. I signed up to therapy thanks to your videos. I always thought (and was told) that i just have bad luck in love.. Now i can finally see that its not like that and i am able to heal! Thank you so much to you and coach Margareth ❤️

I wish I just stuck with the no contact and continued to move on, my life was getting better, but he had the audacity to contact me and at the time I had to move and his place was my ONLY best option. Craig you are so right on this stuff. I should have just ignored his ass like he did me and RUN. Living in regret Right now. Looking for an apartment! Thanks Craig though, I'm almost finished with the workbook!

    • @clairesanders1742

I have finally moved out, now with my mom..had to start over. Me and ex had some contact only by email. It is definitely over now and I'm back on my sobriety again..so happy with that. I'm looking for another apartment. I relapsed when I got back with him which truly hurt me inside, he did not support me. Now at this point I lost all respect for him because those three months living with him was true BS and I can see clearly now exactly what he is.. it's no good. My advice is NEVER ignore your gut, read ALL red flags, and keep following Craig. Now I'm back in no contact for good. Almost four year's of a toxic relationship has taken it's tole on both of us. I'm DONE!!

I want to chat with you soon coach. Next paycheck hopefully! I’ve been saving up aha. My ex has had similar behaviours and as the days of no contact go by, I question more and more if I should even give the relationship another shot.
If she doesn’t come back, problem solved aha!
But if she reaches out again… I don’t even know what I’d want

I don’t think much about red flags. Why? In my love story with a severe avoidant woman I (having no clue about attachment styles and other potential problems) did walk away after the first date. I felt that something was not right. Gut feeling worked, not red flag awareness. But… in 6 months a chain of events and I found myself in a relationship with her. You cannot escape what is for you.

I just wanted to clarify what happened in the events that made "Stockholm syndrome". None of the women married any of the men. However, one of the women, Kristin, became friends with one of the robbers, and they fell in love while he was in prison after the event. She got pregnant and lost the child, but they are still friends today. She wrote a book about it all. She calls him their savior because the first robber Janne demanded that Clark, who was already in prison, needed to join him in the drama. So the police took Clark out of prison and sent him to the bank. Apparently, he was very calm, according to the hostages. The hostages have also said that they thought the police weren't doing a good enough job and that's why they started cooperating with the robbers. They also claim they weren't scared of the robbers. But who knows really what happened.

Hi Coach Craig! I absolutely love your videos, and they've helped me through a painful breakup with my ex-fiancée. However, I have a question. It seems you dress up in a nice jacket and shirt, for each video. But, do you wear pants?! LOL (I know you appreciate humor) Thank you!

Thank you for the advice in your videos, I really need this now as i am going through a breakup that happened two weeks ago. Unfortunately, no contact rule is impossible as me and my ex still live in the same flat and it's not going to change soon for financial reasons. How am I supposed to behave then? Another thing about no contact rule.. if we all follow this.. who would ever reach out? Confused me.

Coach my ex told me in the beginning he was into the threesome life style( which was a red flag) and I was never into his lifestyle when we were just friends . I tired to change him to be better for the better. However changed his behavior just to be with me so we dated seriously. Since we broke up in September is it possible he has went back to that lifestyle???? Oh cant wait to sign up for coaching next week.

My gf dumped me on a trip that I planned for her on her bday. The 2nd day in the trip. We didn't even talked about any issues. We barely even started dated. Her reasons for ending it kept changing every time I asked. It went from things were moving too fast to having too many pets to I'm not assertive enough for her. She's very dismissive and cold and distant, but this is an on going issue; not just after the break up. Is she avoidant?
