@@martincloud1323 I first got into MtG when Guilds of Ravnica was released. So the Ravnica bloc (and the Ixalan + Dominaria meta that preceded it) was my formative experience with the game.
the 5 stages of facing a Niv deck Denial- no way its Niv, no one plays that deck Anger- how is this 5 color jank beating me? Bargaining- maybe they don't have Niv in hand, please game, maybe they don't have the right colors Depression- They have all the colors, I've lost, how did my net deck lose to this Acceptance- They played Niv, they got 4 cards from it, ggs i'm on to the next game.
I'm playing an Emergency combo deck from time to time for fun in BO1, but be aware, overall it just SUCKS in terms of results (which tbh kinda takes away part of the fun but I'm stubborn). The combo is incredibly hard to setup, it dies to counterspells, enchantment removals, Narset, Karn the Great Creator, etc etc. The deck is super weak to aggro strategies because it cannot afford to pack many interactive cards. Really it can only stand a chance versus durdly midrange decks that don't pack any card listed above, and even then it's really hard. For sure it's glorious when it pops off, just be aware that it's safely sitting around "tier 15" if you consider spending wildcards ^^
Hi, I'm the Smothering Tithe opponent from game 3. Good game! Tbh I don't pay attention to players' names so I coincidentally found this video while looking at Niv deck videos and then I was all like "Wait... that opponent's deck looks a lot like mine" haha.
Yep, basic forest and plains to get with Yasharn What if after that someone plays ghost quarter or field of ruin or cleansing wildfire? We ask them politely yet firmly to leave
Been playing Niv in the Shakeup event (was doing it with 80 cards and Yorion [it’s hard to pick which guild cards to play since there are so many fun ones], but he got banned for the second week). Having a lot of fun and good way to knock out quests with no stress.
Klothys is amazing. Even LVD (who historically wasn't too keen on running her) has come around! The mistake is seeing her as a creature that also does stuff. Of course if your deck can wake her up, all the better, but she's mainly graveyard hate + lifegain + a wincon (+ sometimes ramp) all rolled into an indestructible package for a cheap cost.
That match 3 was a variation of your Emergency Funds deck. I've been enjoying playing that one, although mine is just yours without any new additions. I suck at deck building, so I wouldn't know which cards to replace. (Probably Fae of Wishes instead of Mastermind's Acquisition though, now that I think about it..)
I've actually used Ali Aintrazi's "Ok Bloomer" deck as a base. The changes were mostly reducing the amount of Nyxbloom Ancients to one, removing Hydroid Krasis/Uro/Teferi, and then added Commit, more ramp and more anti-aggro cards like Settle the Wreckage and Authority of the Consuls. Also a custom sideboard depending on what decks are popular at the time. Just don't expect to make it past Platinum with this, lol.
Match 3 made me think. Imagine you've got everything set up, your combo went off, you're about to aim that Banefire and win...and then your unholy snake child of a younger brother runs in, giggles, and wrestles with you for the mouse. In the course of it, your hand slips and your Banefire hits your own Nyxbloom Ancient.
when veteran players are like "im probably going to lose to this card in this combo deck that they are going to play next"....opponent plays that exact card, lol
Is it possible to explain those last lines in your description portion? Are you obligated to always post those line in order to make your magic videos?
A whole lot of Ravnica era cards in this episode, on both sides. So nostalgic.
It's great! I love Ravnica. I think the multicolored cards are so much fun.
This is why i'm so hype about the new set, seems to have the same archetypes. With multicolored commens etc.

Niv decks when they work are like swiss army knives. You've got a tool for everything.

Luca, your puns and jokes have such great humor man. I love laughing because I understand the things you reference a lot! xD
Timewipe resets the board
Thought erasure, you're bleeding
Don't give a fuck if that's Chandra I'm seeing
This is my last izzet...
Damn, I kinda suck with the puns, unlike LVD.
I love Niv's animation, like he's looking at all the cards he found and is going "Oh, what a fine selection you have there, great job!"
Lol nice reading on nivs animation
Honestly, the opponents deck in Match 3 was super impressive. I'm a big fan
For sure!
You should check out LegenVD's Emergency Funds deck!

I love how calm you are whether winning or being combo'ed on.
Hell yes, I was looking for a nice Decklist like that for a long time, thank you tho !
Glad I could help!
That Cut/Ribbons card is a such a slick closer lol.
Niv might be coming back to life a few days early. But I'm sure no one minds. Thanks for the great entertainment.
I didn't realize how good MTG ASMR would be. I've started falling asleep to these videos.
That bant combo deck caught me offguard
always glad to have this channel to watch mtga without being overwhelmed by the player's temperament
Right? Most of them are so annoying

Niv is known as the quest killer.
One of my favourites Comandants before the rotation.
Klothys ended up more useful than I expected.

Since I saw mengucci play Niv mizzet "renato" like a year ago, burn a lot of rare and mythic wildcards and played a lot with the deck
Niv Mizzet reborn just in time for Easter
That Smothering Tithe deck looks like a blast.
Check out LegenVD's Emergency Funds deck!
It's a great way to start!
I love a good 5 color pile.
Before it was chromatic lantern to color fix. Why not throw in world trees to backup your artifact?
Need to cast Niv before we get to 6 lands and it wouldn't be helpful early.
We also have Triomes now for additional fixing.
@@LegenVD good point
Adding a world tree and a golos or 2 would be helpful.
Absolutely the best! Hands down.👍
But....but... I'm looking for MagiKarps!
Why is the world tree not in this deck?

Huh... now i wanna build a niv mizzet reborn yorion deck.

well done, sub'd
That match 3 was a whack one. A nice combo
omg you have 74/75 decks built, must be a sad moment when you delete one of the old ones:(
I cry everytim
The deck with the tree lad and the million treasure tokens was amazing, i'm glad you lost to that and not to yet another boring monored haste deck
Burned a lot of wild cards crafting this deck... I regret nothing
