Wow! That sky sure is BLUE!! You had the town to yourself. Nice! It's the complete opposite in the summer time. Lagos was packed in late July. Couldn't even find a place to eat in the evenings. Enjoy the peace and steer clear of those Irish bars : )
We love winter in The Algarve 🇵🇹so few people, easy to find a restaurant and not a bad climate especially compared to January in Canada ❄️☃️🇨🇦. Thanks so much for watching and letting us know what it's like in summertime, (we stay in Canada during summer as it is such great weather).

Hi Joseph & Peter, Alvor is a lovely little town, there are a lot of Irish ☘️ and British visitors so people provide what people want and an Irish pub is a great night out! I was trying to be funny when I saw the Heineken poster at an Irish bar at least the logo is green! Heineken is my go to beer when traveling if nothing else appeals. Hi Ana, we went today to check out O Jorge and it is a great little spot fantastic reviews!, very well hidden, the Praca do Dia today was Horse Mackerel or Beef Tripe, so we are going back tomorrow but we had another recommendation for the Pingo Dolce cafeteria and had a fantastic fresh baked pizza to order, very big 8 slices for €3.99 and a half litre of wine for €1.40 a really delicious lunch. We will be back at O Jorge tomorrow, thanks.

Great fun video of your tour to the Algrave! Love the clarity of your videos, the streets look so colorful and peaceful ! Love the white paint on the walls of houses/shops, contrasting well with yellows and red and other colors that are painted on the walls, seems like it wasn't windy there. Sky is so beautiful....I just love the peace that one could feel there, could hear the birds chirping too! Please "Adapt me" haha, would love to travel with you guys ! I think even I could stretch to a pint for 90c LOL We once visited Rothes Castle. We renamed it Rothes Wall as all that remains is a curtain wall. We often sit watching the locals here tending the lobster pots. Great to see the gulls and seals trying to steal a meal. Thank you for the tour. Time to get back to work on Desmond.

Lovely video. One of the things I noted in Portugal were the chips (French fries). The chips in Portugal are exactly like the chips my Grandmother used to make. It made me miss her, terribly, but it made me smile too. My Mum & Gramma were from England. They came to Canada after the war, in 1949, when Mum was 18. I am sure I’m not alone in appreciating all you are sharing each day. I know it means a lot to me! So, obrigada to you both. xo
There were a lot of war brides, came to Canada and to escape the devastation in Europe. We grew up in the UK and emigrated when we were in our late thirties. We are so pleased and proud to be Canadians. We really are encouraged by your comments, sometimes it's tough to keep making these videos with negatives comments, we do this for you and the other viewers we can help. Oh, please do keep making them... as long as you enjoy doing it, of course!! Mum came with her parents and 4 brothers. They scattered somewhat. My grandfather died 9 years before I was born (in 1954 x him not me 😉) but my Grandmother & Mum and her youngest brother settled in Ottawa... one stayed in Montreal, one (Canadian Naval Captain) lived in Halifax, and was Commandant at Statecona... and my other Uncle ran the BC Ferries, when he retired from the Navy, and stayed with the Ferries until he retired in his 70’s. Mum is from Wolverhampton but grew up in Brixham, Devon... because my grandfather was also a seaman. He was in the Merchant Marines then joined the Royal Navy. Even my Mum grew up going to Sea Rangers... (Girl Guides on water 😉) I spent time in Brixham and exported the area and then I drove down to Cornwall to visit cousins, near Marazion/Penzance. I fell in love with the area.

I enjoyed my lovely bit of escapism, thanks! Meanwhile here the sky is clouded over, it's cold, and last night we went out to the pub and the pints were £4.50 each.
Thought we would tell you in the last couple of days we have had two couples our age come up to us one in the street at Armacao de Pera today they were from Italy and one in the Continent Supermarket in Albufeira a couple days ago, we ended up spending an evening with the Continent couple, they were from Canada and both couples have said they have watched all our Algarve videos, we are now hiding in our apartment not daring to venture out incase the paparazzi is out there (no we just made that last bit up). We were so touched that these people came up to us and chatted for a while, so cool.
That looks so peacefull. There seem to be a lot of Irish bars in Portugal from what I've heard. I have no idea why. But seems to be somewhere the irish move to.
There is a large expat community in The Algarve and surprisingly easy to move to Portugal, we had no idea about the number of Irish Pubs in The Algarve, but then again what is not to love about an 🇮🇪 Irish Pub ☘️.....I'm sure they serve tea ☕️
We haven't stayed on the Costa del Sol but have looked at it as a possible place to try. We do like The Algarve, but Spain is really nice too, check out the climate for both places. Thanks for watching.
3.47 theres an amazing steak restaurant there which you must go to. Steak in a car park we call it but its the nicest steak ive ever had, and it was 30 euros for 2 steaks 2 drinks each chips and vegetables
What a lovely trip out. The sandwiches looks delicious. So sad there is not much left of the castle. So many tour booths on the waterfront. Where are all the people? Its almost like a ghost town there. I would feel very lonely there... 👻👻
Hi Violet, How are you? Good Morning the sandwiches were very good, just enough for a light lunch. There is another Moorish castle in Silves just north of this one that is huge and in good shape. It's winter here ☃️☃️❄️so only the crazy Canadians escaping the deep freeze, to us this is great spring weather, you can spot us Canadians wearing shorts, while the locals wear ski jackets! This walking tour seems much more what we'd hoped to get in the Algarve as opposed to your Albufeira walking tour. Most of the restaurants here seem to be Portuguese rather than American chains and British pubs. Is that the case?
There are a lot of Irish pubs 🇮🇪 in Alvor , it’s mainly because it’s a smaller town than Albufeira yes a lot of Portuguese restaurants John it’s a lovely place Cheers 🇵🇹☕️🇨🇦

A lot of this style is held over from The Moorish influence from when they occupied the region, we saw the blue and white buildings in Morocco too.

Lovely video. One of the things I noted in Portugal were the chips (French fries). The chips in Portugal are exactly like the chips my Grandmother used to make. It made me miss her, terribly, but it made me smile too. My Mum & Gramma were from England. They came to Canada after the war, in 1949, when Mum was 18.
I am sure I’m not alone in appreciating all you are sharing each day. I know it means a lot to me!

There were a lot of war brides, came to Canada and to escape the devastation in Europe. We grew up in the UK and emigrated when we were in our late thirties. We are so pleased and proud to be Canadians. Mum came with her parents and 4 brothers. They scattered somewhat. My grandfather died 9 years before I was born (in 1954 x him not me 😉) but my Grandmother & Mum and her youngest brother settled in Ottawa... one stayed in Montreal, one (Canadian Naval Captain) lived in Halifax, and was Commandant at Statecona... and my other Uncle ran the BC Ferries, when he retired from the Navy, and stayed with the Ferries until he retired in his 70’s.
Mum is from Wolverhampton but grew up in Brixham, Devon... because my grandfather was also a seaman. He was in the Merchant Marines then joined the Royal Navy. Even my Mum grew up going to Sea Rangers... (Girl Guides on water 😉)
I spent time in Brixham and exported the area and then I drove down to Cornwall to visit cousins, near Marazion/Penzance. I fell in love with the area.

Thought we would tell you in the last couple of days we have had two couples our age come up to us one in the street at Armacao de Pera today they were from Italy and one in the Continent Supermarket in Albufeira a couple days ago, we ended up spending an evening with the Continent couple, they were from Canada and both couples have said they have watched all our Algarve videos, we are now hiding in our apartment not daring to venture out incase the paparazzi is out there (no we just made that last bit up). We were so touched that these people came up to us and chatted for a while, so cool.
This Is Our Retirement awww! That’s great!! I’ve had two people come up to me in public over the whole three and a half years I’ve been doing this.

That looks so peacefull. There seem to be a lot of Irish bars in Portugal from what I've heard. I have no idea why. But seems to be somewhere the irish move to.
There is a large expat community in The Algarve and surprisingly easy to move to Portugal, we had no idea about the number of Irish Pubs in The Algarve, but then again what is not to love about an 🇮🇪 Irish Pub ☘️.....I'm sure they serve tea ☕️

The toasted cheese sandwiches are a bit of a vegetarian cafe staple for me over there.

3.47 theres an amazing steak restaurant there which you must go to. Steak in a car park we call it but its the nicest steak ive ever had, and it was 30 euros for 2 steaks 2 drinks each chips and vegetables

What a lovely trip out. The sandwiches looks delicious. So sad there is not much left of the castle. So many tour booths on the waterfront. Where are all the people? Its almost like a ghost town there. I would feel very lonely there... 👻👻
Hi Violet, How are you? Good Morning the sandwiches were very good, just enough for a light lunch. There is another Moorish castle in Silves just north of this one that is huge and in good shape. It's winter here ☃️☃️❄️so only the crazy Canadians escaping the deep freeze, to us this is great spring weather, you can spot us Canadians wearing shorts, while the locals wear ski jackets! So very few people just locals and retired folk escaping the cold and rain of Northern Europe and North America. Thanks for watching and have a nice weekend! 😎😎🇵🇹🇨🇦

This walking tour seems much more what we'd hoped to get in the Algarve as opposed to your Albufeira walking tour. Most of the restaurants here seem to be Portuguese rather than American chains and British pubs. Is that the case?
There are a lot of Irish pubs 🇮🇪 in Alvor , it’s mainly because it’s a smaller town than Albufeira yes a lot of Portuguese restaurants John it’s a lovely place Cheers 🇵🇹☕️🇨🇦
