      Yours came with a cap? Mine didn't. Like Kasey, though, I got mine in ScrawlrBox. I'm currently using the cap off a Wish cheapy brush pen that fell apart.

    • @KatieReadsKoziesAndMore
      @KatieReadsKoziesAndMore 6 лет назад +2

      Jenna - Mine came from Plaza Art and Supplies. Mine is missing the vellum card that shows/names all the colors in the kit. I’m going to see if I can figure this out by looking at the Derwent website. I always save caps, lids, and things from used supplies. It is amazing how often these work on current supply pancaking!

    Everyone, be careful taking lots of pens/microns on the plane with you. The change of air and such from going so high up could burst your pens.
    When I took a trip on a plane ride, i put my two pens into a sandwich bag, and then into my pencil case. That way, if they burst, the ink won't go on your other stuff. Or, use paper towels to wrap them :D

    • @debbien.3315
      @debbien.3315 6 лет назад +32

      I agree. They will be taken away. I would buy an all plastic compass or put those two items in your suitcase. I would also bring a plastic water color kit, they will let you keep the metal one but they might search your carry on. I will do anything for easier travel.

    • @JennaGetsCreative
      @JennaGetsCreative 6 лет назад +34

      Lol, Debbie, good point about the metal watercolor tin. My carry on always ends up getting searched over the funniest things. One time it was because all the coins in my coin pouch shifted to one side and looked waaaay too dense on the scanner. Another time I hadn't taken my keys out and placed them on top, so when they saw the CPR barrier pouch on my key chain (First Aid courses give them out when you pass) it looked highly suspicious on the scan and they couldn't immediately tell what it was by looking at my bag. Then there was the first flight to my now-home province, when I moved here 6 years ago. I had all my DVDs in a travel album at the bottom of my carry on. Apparently that looked like a bomb because they swabbed my bag AND me.

    I’ve got this really thin pencil case which is the perfect size for a pencil, several coloured pencils, rubber, sharpener, fineliner and short ruler. I really like it because it’s so small it fits in pretty much all bags. Also, you’re limited in the supplies so it’s fun to make art with what you’ve got and experiment with them in different ways. I also have a stacked ‘wheel’ of watercolours and a small watercolour moleskin that comes with me too!

    First of all, I want to say: HAVE FUN TRAVELLING!!!!
    That small backpocket-loose-paper idea is just beautyfully smart!
    My musthave supplies are: A small watercolor set and/or inktense set. Watercolor water brushes (I dont really like them either, but I take another option with me), Small 50 ml Flacon of water (Those small spray ones) And 3 watercolor brushes that I use most, 2 throwaway plastic cups. You can stow some art supplies in the plastic cupstack so it doesnt take up too much extra space. 2 erasers ( A normal and a kneedable) 2 or 3 microns ( Different widths) 2 Pencils + sharpener. Gelly roll. Aquarel and normal sketchbook. I can go with a5 size.
    I would want to take my Faber Castell set and my Ink bottles too but ... I dont think thats much convenient lol. Besides that; I wouldnt really bring any coloring-in supplies with me if I knew Im going to buy them there anyway :P
    Since I have my Bullet Journal with me too, I would have a small ruler, stickers, and Stencils with me too but those are like standard in the back of my bujo pocket.

    I use to lug my entire 2 pencil cases full of Copic's with me when I travelled but the air pressure would mess with them on the plane and they took up so much space. On my last trip I took my Windsor and Newton travel watercolour set and it was fantastic. I even did some plane watercolours. My piece of advice would be to get your own little book light. They'd turn the cabin lights off and the plane reading light was blinding for everyone else and I'd feel guilty for using it to do my art. A small book light would have been so helpful. ENJOY!

    Great selection! I'm ok with just primary watercolors and some colored pencils, those are really versatile for sketching (for me at least), also I like to bring a big sketchbook since it gives tons of space to draw

    I can't live without these items (even when I travel):Pencil, fine liner, gel pen, a sharpie, at least a roll of washi tape, a custom water color travel kit, watercolor pencils, and my newest and first Pentel water brush pen. Oh! And a pencil case to carry it all in...also a polymer eraser.

    instead of all the different color pens you have, why don't you take that one pen that has different colored inks that you can switch out. You know, the one from the final fan mail opening.

    Depends- A short trip, i take some small water color papers ( like post card size), a few markers in my favorite colors, my gouache tin, a water brush and a normal paint brush, as well as a pencil and eraser. A long one is that set but my sketch book ( its small so its not too bulky), and/or my surfacebook so i can do digital work too.

    I absolutely have to bring my Pentel P2C7 mechanical pencil. It has lots of little nick nacks and I have really fidgety hands so it’s nice for me! I’ll also bring my watercolor pencils, mix media canson sketchbook, two black sharpies,lead,a pink pearl block eraser, and artist loft alcohol markers. I bring these things to school and long trips and it keeps me busy!

  • @JennaGetsCreative

    Of course we want to see a Japanese art supplies haul! When I travel I tend to stick with ink, but if I were to bring watercolors I would take my Sakura Koi 24 set, as it's the best range of colour and quality that I currently own in a compact set. I have ordered a Meeden tin, though, and I plan to build my own travel set soon as well. My travel pencil bag comfortably fits my 4x6 Pentallic sketchbook along with the supplies I take along. It currently has: a little "credit card" multitool, a 6" ruler, a sharpener, 4 Staedtler pigment liners (0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7), a Faber-Castell Pitt brush pen (B), 2 uni-ball signo pens (black and white), 2 Pilot Color Eno mechanical pencils (red, blue), 2 Le Grip gel pens (gold, silver), 2 Col-Erase pencils (red, non-photo blue), 2 regular Bic mechanical pencils (0.7), a random 0.3 pigment liner from Wish that I was testing, 1 Micron PN, a cheap little compass out of a Helix geometry set, and 3 erasers (Tombow Mono Knock 3.8, Tombow Mono Dust Catch, Maped Zenoa). The Maped Zenoa was my favourite all purpose eraser for years, but it seems to have been discontinued because every listing I find online is ridiculously expensive, so I'm trying new erasers.
