    I thought Muslims were peaceful.
But I keep hearing about violent acts that Malcolm is saying they are trying to commit against him.
If there is any Muslims or anyone with knowledge on Muslims please give me a brief explanation on how this religion works.
Would they really get violent just because someone left their organization?
    Thank You

The organisation was trying to kill him because they believed Malcolm would expose their fraud (he found out after going for Hajj I believe) of doing a whole lot of things which were against the teachings of Islam and deceiving the People.
They called themselves "Muslim Brotherhood" in a similar way Klu Klux Klan called themselves "Christians" .
In Islam it is believed that killing a single innocent soul is tantamount to killing all of humanity and is a grave sin indeed , however , it is also believed that to defend yourself, your family and your land against oppression is worthy of great reward.
Organisations who call themselves "Muslim" but kill innocent human beings have nothing to do with Islam , in a similar way that the klu klux Klan have nothing to do with Christianity

The nation of Islam, despite having the name 'Islam' within it's title, is not Islamic at all. They hold beliefs which are contrary to what Islamic scriptures portray whether it's racism, finality of Prophethood, anthroporphism as well as other basic fundamental creedal beliefs.
A confusion people normally face is that often the terms 'Islam' and 'Muslim' are used interchangeably between actual Islam and those belonging to the nation of islam.
When Malcolm says the people from the nation of Islam are trying to kill him, this doesn't mean Muslims were trying to kill him rather the followers of the group known as the nation of Islam (who are not considered Muslims) were.
Having said that, there are many Muslims who who transgress the limits of Islam. However, there's no doubt that if they followed Islam as per it's teachings, they would turn out as peaceful individuals since Islam indeed is a peaceful religion. It teaches us to be merciful, kind, just, patient, charitable, compassionate etc, all of which was practically demonstrated to us by the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.
Malcolm X travelled the Muslim world in search of the truth and discovered the true orthodox religion of Islam that is practiced by majority of the Muslims. After which he left the group known as the nation of Islam and joined the mainstream orthodox religion of Islam. He explains this in a lot of detail within the debate above.
Furthermore, it is explicitly mentioned in our scriptures how violence towards anyone is not an act that is tolerated by Allah or his messenger. (Qur'an 5:32, Bukhari 10, An Nasa'i 4998)
Thus, any violent acts committed by Muslims we strongly condemn. If anything, it hurts us more because people who are doing violent acts in the name of Islam not only gives other Muslims and Islam a bad name but also causes great suffering and problems to families and the society as a whole.

      @Abdelkarim Karim
      1) The text not explicitly stating "this is a peaceful religion" doesn't automatically mean it's not a peaceful religion. It's like trying to argue if the text doesn't explicitly say "this religion is logically coherent", we now can't deduce that the religion is logically coherent.
Come on, you can do better that that...
      2) The word "Islam" not meaning peace, doesn't mean the religion cannot be one of peace. That's like trying to argue the word "Islam" doesn't mean justice therefore it can't be a religion of justice. Irrational right?
      - Furthermore, when did I even make the claim 'Islam' لغطا or اصطلاح means 'peace'?
      I didn't
      3) Islam is not in a state of war with the Non Muslims until they pay jizya or convert...
You're misunderstanding the principle of having to pay jizya when under an Islamic caliphate by forcing it onto the rest of the world as if it's a universal ruling when in reality it's just for those who are specifically living under a caliphate.
      4) The hadiths quoted about fighting till they pay jizya is in relation towards those who are under the Islamic caliphate. If they don't abide by the laws of the land they get reprimanded for it. The same way if we deny to pay taxes in the country we're living in, the government deals with us how they see fit.
      5) You said: "Stop trying to imply Islam is against violence and war"
There's a difference between 'peaceful' and 'pacifist'. You can go do your homework on that one. Cba, trying to counter claims which are built off suppositions and ignorance, but then again, this just reminds me of Brandolini’s Law lol.
      6) You said: "The messenger never taught non violence or peace with the non muslims"
Refer to (Qur'an 60:8, Nasa'i 4998). Have you even read our scriptures before you start throwing takfir around as if you're a qualified Aalim lol.
      7) In regards to Islam being spread by the sword, refer to this article by Yaqeen institute:
      yaqeeninstitute.org/hassam-munir/did-islam-spread-by-the-sword-a-critical-look-at-forced-conversions/#.XkcYNq-nzqs
      8) You said: "You fear the white man"
For all you know I could be a white man myself lol.
Secondly, the only thing I am fearing at the moment is your level of extremism. Try looking into hadiths regarding extremism, hopefully you'll calm down a bit.
      9) "This verse in no way condemns all violence or all killings. If that were the case we wouldn't have the death penalty etc..."
Um, when have I denied that? What and who are you even arguing anymore bro? Yourself? It sure seems like it.
I think that should be enough for now. Everything else was just regurgitated nonsense :)
May Allah guide us to the straight path.

I continue to be blown away with how intelligent Malcolm was. Even when dealing with aggressive idiots, he was so intelligent and always knew what to say. Also, he never let anyone put words in his mouth that he never said or didn't feel. He used facts, reason, and common sense. Debate skills like no other. I loved the way he said "Dr. Hall" at 1:06:24 as a sort of taunt (knowing he wasn't a doctor and the guy having to admit he wasn't one), and Malcolm replies "Oh, well you sound like an expert on something I thought you were a doctor". LOL! That fake expert kept trying to belittle Malcolm and it was getting old. Man, Malcolm was honestly too good for this world. R.I.P.

Mr.Hall spent so much time tying to speak over brother Malcom and trying to discredit him or corner him into giving information that he refused to share with white America. He was so smooth and maintained this cool demeanor that they couldn’t take. Hall tried to paint Malcom a angry or extreme but he got pissed and started yelling “let me speak” Malcom’s said say ur word.. I assumed he was saying say something valid, make a point and move on.. I love it. I have listened to this debate at least 9 times this week. It got really good the last 20-30mins

These were Malcolm's last formally recorded words, and you hear the GENIUS come out at the end. He forcefully IDENTIFIES the hurtful societal and systemic policies at play, and describes the negative consequences those policies on his people. When he is immediately compared to Hitler for even saying such things, he bites back, "I don't know anything about Hitler; I wasn't in Germany", which irritates his interviewers even more, forcing them into a defensive position! As Hall rambles on in his own "defense" about his supposed "progressive" activities in the South, Malcolm issues his final blow and asks Hall if he was wearing a "white sheet" during those times. He FLOORS them, then departs this earth 3 days later. :(

Malcolm X has been been pretty solid and fair with Elijah Muhammad even after discovering his dirt I believe he did attempt to cover for him after recovering from his own shock, but the fix was already in and it's a shame because the group became relevant under Malcolm's leadership so Elijah should have squashed the beef and let Malcolm be and even work with him on his new journey, but even better yet Elijah really should have stepped down and elevate Malcolm for that generation.

I never wanted to be a King, nor never wanted to have a Queen. Kings and Queens always been arrogant, selfish, egotistical people, something I never strived for in life. I love being at the bottom of the pole because it allow me to create my own ego, selfishness, and arrogant ways I can live with to go on doing the things I love doing. See some things we strive for takes us to far away from reality, and can't never be able to get back. All my young life living, when I was moving to far away from staying balance, it was someone always there to gave me a personality check, which allowed me as I got older to give it to myself. Whatever I come across in life, when I see a person have gone to far out of bounce. The first thought comes to mind is, they did not adopt the personality check with themselves as they broke away from it by others keeping them grounded. Who might start looking at it as something had hold them back. Who taught themselves to look at things wrong. Abuse hold them back; discrimination hold them back; who you know, not what you know, hold them back; giving up on one self, hold them back; staying with a one track mind, hold them back. Kings, and Queen attitudes, hold those around them back because they always want the spotlight to shine on themselves. Maybe those acts alone might were the reason people never tried to move into the business world uniting others to build a system on their own. Holding each other back been a common thing in the human race, even when one just trying to not lose their relationship with their love ones, some will try to stop them from proceeding, fearing they might see things different with them. Is something we see in the animal kingdom, one has to ask, where did they pick it up from?
