Dude that scenery on the trail is beautiful! I know you are very fortunate to ride some of the best trails across the planet, but that view was "bucket list" worthy, even if the ride wasn't up to your preference.
It wasn’t that you can tell he liked it but it wouldn’t be good to recommend because very few people would be up for that steep hike and be able have the control to bomb that sketchy rut section
You saved it at last, but you can’t complain about that ride. That view, the sun, those wildlife experiences… Hope you realize how lucky you really are…
Oh man! Those animal sightings are so good. For all the complaints people have about California there's not denying it's got so much to offer. Bummer the downhill wasn't great but those views were something special!
Loved this ride, captures the essence of a of riding in SoCal, grueling fire road grinds, with blistering downhills through rutted out trails. This one happened to be an out and back and huge price to ay on the way up. Man, you could get flying on the way down.
Brian, you're dead right about that downhill - it didn't look like the most fun ride ever - but that scenery, wildlife and, from a grey February in the UK point of view, the sunshine was fantastic. Thanks for the great content 👍🏻
This was an amazing video. The view was amazing. Just what I need since I live in Connecticut and the weather is too cold for me to ride. Your video helps with me locked in winter wonderland.
Love love all the extra just life stuff you post. It’s not just the trails. Trails are what we came for but I love the post ride meals, the updates on the van, just your random facts and thoughts. All such great content
Epic. I think we're spoiled on rides here in CA. I grew up in Alaska in a region where there's maybe one small area to ride when it's not raining sideways.
Thanks for showing the hike a bike sections. Gives us better perspective that not all yt mtb’ers are beasts and they hike too sometimes :) liked this more vlog style video
Another great video! You, Sur, are awesome! "That's the trailhead, I'm Sur!" "Passive bell," can't agree more! I FINALLY added one to my bike after 30 years of using traditional bells. Love the tone of them, gentle enough to not be completely annoying, but also loud enough to be effective.
Winter time where I live (Belgium). Thinking about going to Austria in the summer to do some downhill. This video really gave me a holliday feeling, thanks!
I love seeing elephant seals in CA. They're like big giant puppy dogs, but wouldn't want to get near one. Also went ahead and ordered those grips since the ones I have that came stock on my bike 7 years ago, have worn down smooth, LOL.
Those elk are living on the Hearst Ranch. Along the Central Coast, I have seen sea otters, humpbacks, great whites, elk, Zebras (Hearst Ranch), elephant seals, deer, and a tortoise in one drive of 30 miles!
while I love great forest switchbacks, this has to be one of the coolest trails I have ever seen - never realized that there could be trails right by a coastline that were worth MTB single tracks. So isolated and fun, those views are stellar
Horses for courses, I would have loved riding this trail! The sky high views and scenery, the bright Sunshine and cardio workout to get to the top.....everything I am looking for in an enjoyable trail ride.
I think he doesnt want to recommend a trail where one lapse in judgement means you get yeeted out of existence and the BRUTAL climb! See how he carries his bike in a superman pose? The camera doesnt do the steepness of that climb any justice
Yeah that's the problem with Big Sir. Wilderness is mostly off limits to bikes. Stupid use of elevation on a bike. Better off hiking while you are there. As always thanks for sharing, now get out of my back yard will ya! ;)
I live south of there. It's all about the BIG views. Oh, and the poison oak... TONS of poison oak ;) p.s. Art's Cyclery in San Luis Obispo SLO is a great shop.
I descended this on my gravel bike close to sunset as part of a larger loop in 2020. No ruts from the rains at the time so it was in better condition but still very steep. There were a couple of sections where I couldn't really even stop. I wouldn't want to climb it. I would go again for the views though and probably do it with my MTB now that I have one.
While you may not have liked the ride, it looked super nice to me. I prefer natural trails of any kind over purpose built, artificially shaped and groomed ball track flow trails. One question, there's been a noise coming and going on the downhill. I don't think it was your bike's freehub. Was it the brakes?
This just proves that there is no such thing as a bad day on the bike. Plus those views!
You got it, BB!
California is so beautiful! I'm never leaving this place

the downhill looked terrifying
Oh man! Those animal sightings are so good. For all the complaints people have about California there's not denying it's got so much to offer. Bummer the downhill wasn't great but those views were something special!
Those brake bumps 😍 lol. Still looks like an awesome day. Need some signs on those corners.
I probably gonna die multiple times on that downhill portion just going way too fast, but man that view was stunning
Definitely looks like a better hike than a ride.
Loved this ride, captures the essence of a of riding in SoCal, grueling fire road grinds, with blistering downhills through rutted out trails. This one happened to be an out and back and huge price to ay on the way up. Man, you could get flying on the way down.
You had quite the day for just a medium trail. Still had beautiful veiws 💯👍
I hiked that trail a few years back. 50 degrees and cloudy at the bottom and 80 and sunny at the top. Absolutely beautiful
Thank for sharing this awesome location!!
Wow!! I am so glad watched until the end of this video! What a FABULOUS wildlife treat!!🙏❤️ thank you for sharing this, too!
Nice! Amazing views. You just inspired me to trail run up this gorgeous mountain.

"user conflict" 😂😂 I'm stealing that!!!
Those ruts a gnarly..
Watchout for the poison oak..lol
Fun ride
Iam your fan from UK 🇬🇧 mate 👍🏻 I really enjoys your videos. Respect ✊
What a beautiful place. I love Big Sur.
Gorgeous views.
The ejector seat! I had one of those on the Swiss cup DH coarse thank goodness for those ski nets.
I miss Cali, thanks for sharing the wild life sightings
So nice to see the animals! Definitely adds up to the experience when you are able to spot wildlife!
that’s scenery is epic worth the trip for that alone stunning 🏴🤟🏻🔥

The views where absolutely beautiful. Northern California is so nice. I miss living their. Keep it roll’n !…
This was an amazing video. The view was amazing. Just what I need since I live in Connecticut and the weather is too cold for me to ride. Your video helps with me locked in winter wonderland.
My new favorite video from you! Just WOOOW!! That view!!!
Beautiful ride with mind boggling views. Then, "I would never do that again or recommend it". ??? Are we that spoiled?
Absolutely beautiful! Big animal sends on this one.
Love love all the extra just life stuff you post. It’s not just the trails. Trails are what we came for but I love the post ride meals, the updates on the van, just your random facts and thoughts. All such great content
Not even joking... loved the nature program at the end!
That looks like a terrifying ride
The views of the Water though!
So beautiful... the scenery...the whales.... way to live...
Looks good Brian 👍
Loved this video and all the animals! I like your riding style, you have fun but don’t do dumb things. It’s inspiring to watch you.
but dumb things are funnnnn
That scenery!
Those views are amazing!
Thanks Brian. That’s just up the coast from our new house in Cambria I’ll have to do that as a hike with the dogs.
Beautiful day at big sur

That view man 👍🏻
love biking around here in Northern California

Damn what a day!
The end segment was a smart move - I usually forget to hit the like button and it's a good reminder.
That view was unbelievable and totally worth it IMO
that's definitely a ride you do when you just want the workout and some of the ocean views.
Awesome Video. Thank You!
Dude that looked like a awesome experience riding, hiking, animals, and fantastic views!
What a great views!

Ground beef, we call it mince meat! Cool Vid, great location
Very Cool...love the animals
Amazing views 🤩
I really love when you vlog a lot in your videos! Thanks for taking the time to create awesome videos!
Loved my day out around Big Sur in 2019.. I saw the seals also! Great vid mate... Just for those views!
Awesome views you shared with us anyways Brian! Short and sweet.
Got a lot of “Neature” too!
while I love great forest switchbacks, this has to be one of the coolest trails I have ever seen - never realized that there could be trails right by a coastline that were worth MTB single tracks. So isolated and fun, those views are stellar
Your in my backyard! I have only walked that trail before. You hit it on a great clear winter day!
Still one of the most entertaining videos you’ve made despite the ride and the booger on the lens. Loved it sir
All fantastic 👍😀
Cool spot. Definitely great whites in the area.
Horses for courses, I would have loved riding this trail! The sky high views and scenery, the bright Sunshine and cardio workout to get to the top.....everything I am looking for in an enjoyable trail ride.
What a cool track! And the landscape is really awesome!
Hello from Toluca, México. 😎🤙🏼
Looks a fun ride actually. Obviously not technical. Munro’s here are 3000ft and over. Takes 2.5-3 hours to climb and 20-30 mins to descend.
Man, what a view! I need to make a Pacific Coast Hwy road trip this year!
one of the beautiful places
You lucky dude I´m here stuck in the office.
Love Big Sur!
Nice video. I enjoyed that. I ride on the east coast.
I liked the ride awesome,👍RI
I'm so jelly how clean your videos look..very nice, is this area eMTB friendly? Beautiful.
Sitting here near Birmingham Alabama...waiting out this huge thunderstorm hoping to ride tomorrow...looks so nice in CA!
I really love all your vlob❤
First time I’ve seen you hike a bike and I’ve watched pretty much every video since the beginning. Must be steep!
Wow thats a big climb after a big meal
dude, I don't get it, those views were INSANE! what was so bad about the downhill? too steep and washed out?
I think he doesnt want to recommend a trail where one lapse in judgement means you get yeeted out of existence and the BRUTAL climb! See how he carries his bike in a superman pose? The camera doesnt do the steepness of that climb any justice
Haha, I did that trail last winter. Great views to enjoy on the hike a bike! Poison oak wasn't bad either.
What a cool guy
Nice views! How do you like the Med Ripmo compared to the Large? I was borderline and went with the Med just recently.

Sick view
I'm really digging your grips!
Beautiful
The view on your hike a bike didn't suck looking out to the Pacific
Oh man, solid day on the coast. Typical trails though, kind of like going down into Stinson or Pacifica, still amazing though.
I descended this on my gravel bike close to sunset as part of a larger loop in 2020. No ruts from the rains at the time so it was in better condition but still very steep. This was fantastic, amazing views 🤩💯 and great ride
Thanks for a great video
Beautiful! What part of the highway/viewpoint are the seals!!??? :)

Came for the biking, stayed for the wildlife
