- It's been over a year since I last tackled a terrible mobile game with even worse ads, so today let's fix that by checking out Evony: The King's Return by EVONY, LLC. Starting it's life out as misleading web game, let's see if it's mobile sequel is ''just like the ads...''

And now they have a new marketing campaign where they're pretending it's a wave shooter game.
I have not found one game that's advertised on IG or TT that isn't phony or bogus. They all are. You are doing the community a favor by offering your time to actually prove it. Well done!
I keep seeing these top scrollers where you are trying to power up your weapons and number of defenders but don't think there is any actual game like that.
I’m pretty sure this game STARTED the fake pull-pin puzzle ad craze and now it has the audacity to say it’s not doing that ‘unlike the others’
I don’t know why they just don’t make a spin-off w/ just the puzzles that could benefit your Evony account if you have one.

I feel like the actual budget for Evony is probably extremely low, and adding *good* puzzles would increase its costs. People playing just the puzzle side wouldn't spend anywhere near as much as the few whales (a small number of players who spend large amounts) who play the main game.
They'd end up with a lot more players, but lower revenue.

The active player count must be high due to ppl always downloading it based on the fraudulent ads and even tho many stop because they felt violated.

I would add to this and tell people not to play any game that uses the same ad formats.
Pull-pin puzzles, promises that the game really is what it says it is, superimposed women or robotic disembodied voices narrating the ads, or intentionally low quality work despite clearly having an editor (like the baby crying in the video to make it seem like a real person)
I hate when they pretend to be real people just casually playing the game when it's obviously pre recorded/fake animated gameplay
@@PurpleStreak My "favorite" version of that one is the word puzzle with the old lady shaking her head like she's ashamed at you for failing.
Or when they keep failing at the start of the game and go "Can you do better?!" To try and goad you into playing it
Now the stupid adverts are showing gameplay with soldiers shooting barrels or some shit. NONE OF WHICH IS IN THE FUCKING GAME! 🙄
How do companies get away with this? Why are they not banned from the app store?
Thank you. Fully tired of their false advertising. The FCC needs to get involved because they are earning assets from downloads that are based on a bait and switch tactic.

@@greventlov it actually depends on what clan and server u play. I used to play this evony game and I can say that my clanmates were good people. Usually those bullies were pay-to-win player with big clan. lol

When I saw the ads for this, I thought "this is Hero Wars". It might have affected Hero Wars because it seems like now they are using early Evony-like strategies involving giant women. The ad has the guy even sometimes pooped out of the giant woman. Sometimes the guy has something involving the giant woman's breasts.
Hero Wars is something like a Raid Shadow Legends clone with the occasional puzzle
This is the most honest review I have ever watched of this shitty game I've played for over 3 years and spent over $27 000 🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽

I have a feeling these guys hire a cheap animation studio for the ads then also comission influencers to read a script to a game they never played.
If the put in this amount of mental gymnastics and effort to making a game rather than lying, they could have successful games.
I understand theyre just pay to win micro-transaction games, but why not just show real gameplay or made a good puzzle mini game at the start to reel in players ?

I got sucked into hero wars after downloading it thinking it was a puzzle app and it's just a goofy battles game. I spent soooo much money on it. Like easily $2,0000 USD. Also FOR SURE it's a shady Russian origin for Hero Wars and the rest.

I played Evony or Evony 2 many years ago for a few months. I knew what the gameplay actually was and never saw any fake ads. I had fun and made some ingame friends, but the high level players conquering low level players ruined it for me. Now I know to never play any of their games ever again. Thank you! :)

I started playing the original Evony in 2009. Despite the false advertising with the scantily clad large breasted ladies 😂 it was actually a good game with great battle mechanics. Made friends across the world and had a lot of laughs. It was very much pay to win until people developed bots to play it. I ended up with 42 accounts by 2014 all feeding into the three that I battled with all run through VPNs. Evony hated the bots as it ended their cash stream and so they stopped maintaining it. I packed up December 2014. By then they'd released Return of the King for PC but it was nowhere near as good and my old alliance mates had started playing games like Clash of Clans, WoW, and War Thunder. Funny to see Evony are still deceiving people with the misleading ads. Bring back the scantily clad women please but you can keep the game thanks 🤣

What is worse is the idiots who *cut & pasted* this fame from a different *Empire Building* game, don't have the technical savvy to set their watches without breaking them....
Yes, the *Puzzles* are thrown in as more of an afterthought than an actual game element, and they are terribly simplistic compared to the false advertisements, but that doesn't change the fact that when something bugs in the game, or they *ATTEMPT* to do an upgrade, their lack of skilled *IT* people forces you to completely uninstall the app. then reinstall it!!
These people are *Class A Scammers* & nothing more!!
Also needing to be mentioned here is how *PATHETIC* the game administrators are at technology and coding....
The *ENTIRE* game revolves around trying to build up your kingdom, but that means U can't get hit and have *EVERYTHING* stolen from U by another player or alliance, which in turn means U *HAVE* to keep a bubble up/ Truce Agreement up, or one of the other Alliances will hit U the second it drops and take everything you have amassed from you.
The problem with this is that the company that runs this game does not care at all about U or the players, and the Truce Agreements will oftentimes just randomly turn off, leaving U open to attack, *WHICH WILL COME ALMOST IMMEDIATELY* as pretty much *EVERY SERVER* has at least one alliance that specializes in taking advantage of available targets!!

It’s a fair thing to warn others about. Just because there was an aspect of personal choice involved doesn’t mean something can’t still be predatory.
