I struggled with this exact decision a few months back but ultimately came to the same conclusions you did. I run an aftermarket control board in it as well so I have the option to increase efficiency or overclocking it to increase profits, so yet another Pro! 😀

Your strategy makes a lot of sense. But i wonder if it's not better to buy a mining hardware after the halving. All the parameters should be at their worst and the price too. Just wondering 🤔
It's a balance, because you're right that ASIC miner prices might drop lower just after the halving (although that's of course not guaranteed), but then the downside is that you miss out on around 120 days of mining on your ASIC making double the BTC before the halving. If only we could tell the future hehe!

I am wondering about the miners that become obsolete after the halving. Will they be available for pennies after the halving? If power cost wasn't an issue, it would make sense to buy those, right?
As long as you have a miner that will outpace your electric bill, you should be fine.
If power cost isn’t an issue, yes. It always makes sense to mine bitcoin if you have free power.

I've done exactly this. I bought a D9 two months ago and had it hosted at 8 cents per kWh and put it on Nicehash. I average $22 in BTC per day so far.

In the 1849 gold rush. The merchants are the ones that got rich. Asics are way overpriced. Low power mining is the way to go or just buy the coins.

i buy gpu from aliexpress to re sell them, so putting them mining until buyer come, i also get some refund from aliexpress for some faulty gpu and later fix it myself, so the profit is around 50 to 70% of all hardware i have each month ,i find it difficult to sell +50 gpu per month and its growing fast ,so i guess i cant keep that percentage forever.i dont pay taxes of selling and mining. making money fast is only possible if there is an exploit available .
