I love that they are talking to artists. One of the tiny stupid little things I may suggest is, make the buttons on the back leftie-friendly. I am lefthanded and I hate that everything is so right-handed designed. I always have the buttons on the wrong side, the keyboard shortcuts, the cables always stick to the left and I can tell those volume buttons would annoyme since I'll have to grab my pen pretty weirdly to reach them
@@MrRodriguezAdam hhmmm I don't think that would solve it since your pencil holder will have to go underneeth and I am not sure if that's ideal. I don't have one of those tho so maybe there actually is a way to solve this but I don't think rotating it will
honeslty I cant see myself using the buttons. My hand is already on the screen so I think I'd just use command center instead of reaching behind the stand.
I do like the rotating disk, be able to move the tablet like a sketchbook or animation disc instead of pinching on the screen. And it seems to have way more angle options than most cases. I hope it’ll have a reasonable price. I expect to be around the same as the Astropad Darkboard, so around $100.
Wow. That’s basically an animation disk. The rotation looked pretty stiff in the video. Is it easy to rotate quickly? I’d love to see a finger hole for easy rotation. Just reference any animator’s disc. They’re super comfortable for drawing
I did the same thing for my m4 out of 2 sheets of black foamcore board from cvs. It’s only 2 layers. A layer with cutout of the ipad pro 13” and another layer glued underneath. I’m now going to cut out an air vent also.
I do have a suggestion that would make this top tier : a second handle, but shorter, to use the nudges at a different angle. Offers lower angles and high angles, it would double the quantity of angles, because some people like it barely elevated (like me), maybe 45 degrees max! this would got top tier!
Wow.The first time I have seen the working space can be rotated. This iPad desk reminds me of the animation desks the Disney animators used to draw on in the old days.
This seems to be positioned as a travel as well as a studio easel / folio. The travel aspect might benefit from a handle cut out much like many artist lap boards. Just a thought.
Very cool. But the one thing i would be reluctant about it how much space it takes up… i mean the big flap in the back to adjust the angle. I think i can speak for a lot of artists that we are not necessarily the neatest people. My table is almost never so organised and clean that I will have that much space for my iPad. So if they offered a version that had a smaller surface area like the Sketchboard pro ii that would be great. Or maybe some sort of removable flap? Or maybe if instead of the flap being in the back, what if it was forward? And board itself served as a stopper? That way it could also very easily be used in a persons lap…
I have a sketchboard Pro and tried all kind of other ones. The best for me (far above the rest!) is the Rain design- mstand. Sturdy, perfect height to protect your back, keeps your arms in a good position, takes minimal desk space and you even can put a keyboard under it. Now of course, if you want the rotating feature, this is the way to go. I just can not understand why you would like that if the same result can be achieved faster and more ergonomically by touch gestures on your screen. But that of course is totally subjective.
One of the major reasons I don't use my sketchboard pro as much as I'd like is because I have to take my iPad out of its existing case and put it into the sketchboard. I love that this allows you to keep your iPad in at all times. One thing I'd love to see addressed is the comfort drawing with this in your lap. I tend to work both at a desk and on the couch, so if this is suitable for both it's a no-brainer.
Actually super excited for this, I've been looking for an artist appropriate stand since I got my ipad years ago. There aren't many on the market and the ones that do exist are massive and/or expensive.
The support looks way too flimsy but I assume/hope it won’t stay that way Rotating function has potential! My fav art desk was a classical animation desk with a circle plexiglass insert that could be rotated easily and often while drawing This one looks more stiff…? Does it rotate 360? (As the name suggests)
My two cents. When I sit at a table, my wrist is going to be bent, I would like to see more drawing angles. While we’re on the stand, would it be to much to ask for it to be held in place with magnets? Thanks Adam for looking out for us.
Innovation that excites! I was wondering what you use your iPad for? In your other videos it looks like you use photoshop for your artwork and was curious if you also use Procreate for other things like a sketchbook or just for when you can’t be at your main set up. Great video!
About the bezels, right. But the trick is done with the height of the desk and/or the chair. (Obviously, if you stand - as I do many hours per day -, the best solution is a desk like those Flexispot's ones that torment us with ads, lately. I have one adjustable desk since years: there's no going back.)
you were right about apple pencil pro! btw. anything magnetic messes with ipad pro. i was getting these glitch lines with my apple pencil forever, UNTIL i figured out it was the my ZUGU case with the magnetic back. I switched cases to a simpler one and now the problem went away. I think Magnets on the back of Ipad messes with the field and glitches out apple pencil. my 2 cents.
I’d go with the Air if you don’t care about promotion (+60hz refresh rate) and Face ID. M2 is plenty powerful and capable plus the new Air can use the new Apple Pencil Pro, where the M2 iPad Pro sadly can’t due to charging methodology over the new camera placement.
So I was going to sign up for reservation for the crowd sale for the Sketch Disc 360, but under compatibility it doesn't list the 7th Gen 13" iPad Pro. Hopefully they plan to make a version for the the new iPad Pro 13! 🙂
Love this idea and since I need a new case for my Ipad I think I will buy this. I only have 2 concerns, the size of the thing still looks pretty big and I don’t know if I could use it easily on my lap or on my desk at work (since I already have 3 screens and 2 keyboards :P), and the other is the Apple Pencil holder. I notice that if I leave the Apple Pencil on the magnetic holder it will drain my Ipads battery really quickly so with my current Zugu case I love that I can store the pencil in the back.
Thanks for the info here and other reviews of yours I've watched. VERY helpful. I paid the dollar amount to secure an order but doesn't say when they might be released. Any idea when this product might be released? Thank you
Love it. Ok. As we’re all going to have to throw away our $100-200 iPad cases, this becomes the new case for my M2 iPad Pro. I can live with that. But there needs to be a cut out at the top that acts as a handle for when I’m on the go. Done right, that opening could also act as a slot for an iPhone (with case), when the stand is being used? Also, couldn’t there be extra little affordances for the iPad speaker/mic ports? It seems they’re blocked right now, which kills the device’s usefulness as a Zoom machine. Dealbreaker for me. Non-slip is critical. I don’t want to have to brace the thing with my left hand. I don’t care about the weight. Better made is more important. One of the use cases I can foresee the most for me, is using it on my lap. It’s impossible right now, even with a case that allows adjustable angles, because a) there’s no stability (which this will provide), and b) there’s never any ability to rotate the whole device. So that’s cool. Most of the time I use and Anker battery block to power my iPad, so I don’t have to rely on nearby wall outlets. But would it hurt to have another channel where I could store the USB-C cable when itge unit is closed? Reserved my unit.
If you want them to add a bit space on the bottom for comfo wrist, you shouldn't reduce the size on top coz then animators and illustrator can mount keyboard on top. Bare in mind artist don't like to mount it botton as then can't rest the wrist on keyboard and draw at the same time coz it sucks. For more info you can watch how ergojosh modified his setup on sketchboard pro 2

just rotate it so the buttons are on the side that makes sense right?

Hello Adam. Any update on the Sketch 360 product development?

I built myself a very simple version of this out of black foamcore. Cost me $25 and 2-3 hours of time.
Same but I used white cuz I had some on hand. 4 boards total and tape. Cut holes in the one the iPad sits in for venting and all is good

Very nice that the pencil fits with a grip on it. A lot of companies ignore that.
when is it coming out ? there is only reservation
The support looks way too flimsy but I assume/hope it won’t stay that way

Yes according to the website
This looks so good, Love it ☺☺

I only notice glitching with the Apple Pencil when I charge and draw at the same time, not with anything magnetic.
Hey Adam, I know I'm late to the video, but I was wondering if you have ever heard of or taken a look at the sketchboard pro?
Please tell us if we artists should go for ipad pro 2024 or ipad air 2024 will do just fine
@@CasualViewer-t4f I thought that too Air 2024 is pretty good deal as an artist and not really looking for that extra features ...thank you

Could always slide your canvas up to comfortably work on the bottom
Did they give any indication as to when it may be available? I didn’t see any mention on the website.
As soon as you showed the rotation, I was sold lol
How do you feel about the Astro pad dark board compared to this?

They should check out an animators table to see how the rotation is done right.
When will this release!
Will be great a spring adjustment to fit iPads pro 11 inches and iPads 13inches too. Like ones fits all.

Reserved my unit.
Will the product be compatible with iPads that have a case on it?
Do you know anything about the price it will cost?
This will be perfect with the new apple pencil
I hope the new thickness of the new iPad won't be too much trouble for this accessory
This looks and sound rly prommising!
If i didnt had n Sketchboard Pro (that i love), id consider this for sure!
Awesome! Ipad as an animation disk.
Thanks for this! I just reserved one on their website.
Sketchboard v2 is out now and smaller
what about the new ipad pro that is 30 inches
How much does it weigh?
Okay Adam you sold me!
Fantastic
Looks great. I would buy one if they made it compatible with android tablets.
M4 13inch?
Want one
Carry handle
Correct me if I'm wrong Adam but why an iPad stand? Don't you owned a Wacom cintiq already?
suspicious moment to drop iPad content, but good video nevertheless
no handle to carry...you have to hole the whole thing...needs a handle
