When I was in 5th grade, my moms assistant was in the scene, and since her music was on the computer, it’s all there was to listen to.
I listened to Boys Like Girls debut album on repeat for a I don’t know how long. Finding friends who shared my passion for the scene was and is still is difficult, but when you’re able to sing “Miserable at Best” with your friend at random, that’s when you know you did good.
Omg so hyped for this. The podcast we didn't ask for, but the podcast we didn't know we needed.
It’s so crazy to me that the scene is making a comeback, I am HERE for it 🤩

My husband and I listened to your episodes on our latest road trip and loved them all. Love hearing this one in particular on how you guys met and the background of how everything started. We knew most of your story but it’s a lot of the details that people want to hear 😊

Seriously though. Emos not dead has been a highlight of content that I’ve watched on RUclips. I’ve been watching RUclips since 2008/2009. I easily have spent hours watching or listening to videos. Emos not dead is literally some of the best content

Love that y’all started this pod and we get to learn some behind-the-scenes stuff about END and YBH! Excited about all the future guests too.
Tbh....IMO we already have many festivals...but what the E.N.D cruise did was make everything more interesting and even more intimate. I personally wouldn't be interested in going to just another festival even if by some magical way they reduce beer lines and set crowds....it would be like ANY OTHER FESTIVAL....we've got so many of those. But Cruises....they are far and few. I'd spend all my money on a fun music cruise and hang out with my friends for a couple of days. Just my feeling.
About proposals occurring on the END cruise: proposing so publicly like that can be a HUGE safety concern for women being proposed to, especially when they're trapped on a cruise with no place to go. I really think public proposals are ethically concerning and easily exploitable by clever abusive partners. D:

We went to an Underoath show about a month ago and some of the band members actually remembered us like legit said, “I remember you guys from the cruise.” The cruise really was family! Everyone recognizes each other because we were all so close!

I love the discussion about the emo scene and bands that still give it there all. It's been several years since I last saw them, but I'm glad Silverstein still brings it to this day - they just keep getting better.
Not trying to start anything... but Senses Fail definitely falls into that category of bands you guys talk about 25mins in. Ironically, they "co-headlined" with Silverstein in 2015, and Buddy spent more time bitching about being 32 years old than actually performing. He would say things like the audience could complain all we wanted, but the music just wasn't going to sound the same. I don't even remember anyone outwardly complaining - he was just making excuses to justify his lack of enthusiasm. I've seen other disappointing performances, but most were a product of musicians being overly intoxicated - that's the only one I can recall where the band seemed sober and just straight up didn't give a damn.
