    • @ohauss
      @ohauss 3 года назад +6

      It's All Coming Back to Me Now was originally recorded by Pandora's Box and then by Celine Dion. Meat Loaf wanted to do it for ages, but Steinman apparently insisted for quite a while that it was a woman's song. Meat Loaf eventually did a duet version with Marion Raven.

    Billy...I love how ur talking about the emotions caused by this song. I have found music to be the ultimate nostalgia medium. Music will take you the farthest, the fastest of all the media's. One song, in its first seconds can take you immediately back in time to a point where that song was part of your life somehow. I've found no other media to do that as efficiently as music. Song comes on the radio from your teen years and you mind is immediately back with your high school boo or buddies. It's surreal.

    The "story behind the song"; In a 2003 interview for VH1 Ultimate Albums series, Steinman said he was complaining to friend Mimi Kennedy that he couldn’t get a deal. She suggested his songs were too complicated. Just then, Elvis' I Want You, I Need You, I Love You came on the radio & she said, "Why don't you write something simple like that." He went home & “tried so hard” to write a simple song & this was the result. Steinman said, “still a twist but it was my closest to a simple song & one Elvis could have done."

    Thank you for listening to us Meat lovers doing a live version or in this case the official music video. The man playing the piano is Jim Steinman, the composer of most of Meat's beautiful songs. When Jim was looking for someone who was able to perform his songs properly, he found Meat, who was the perfect match for him. Their friendship lasts until today. Other beautiful songs are "Read 'em and weep", "Bat out of hell", "For crying out loud" (Meat considers this song as the best love song ever written), "Objects in the rear view mirror (may appear closer than they are)", "Everything louder than everything else". Just take one and you can't go wrong. Or try his performance as Eddie in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. That's when he got my attention when I was approximately 10 to 12 years old. 😊

    He was also an actor Billy, 59 films, he was going to do his 60th when he died.
    He was having 3 operations on his back next week and he couldn't wait to get back on the road, he's on here doing an update video just before he died 3 days ago..
    It seems it was Covid 19 he wasn't well enough to fight it...

    SIDE NOTE: Meatloaf was one of the biggest Buffalo Bills fans. He had a huge collection of memorabilia.

    The biggest fail the music industry ever did was under appreciate this man’s legacy and not induct him into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Rest In Peace to one of the best performers and musicians in history. MEATLOAF. 😢✨❤️ #MEATLOAF4ROCKNROLLHALLOFFAME2022
