I appreciate the books you choose and your reasoning for them. I love learning from my books as well as enjoying them. Making my book choices part of a project makes me even happier. I find it commendable that you give things a fair try…like re-trying dark academia before writing it off. I have tried to keep my reading fair, for example, I get books that promote both sides of any ideologies. Anyway, I’m rambling now. Just wanted to say how much I connect to your approach when creating a TBR.
Actually, I must have gotten this idea from you🤔 You mentioned you have a project of reading more on Russian history, and before I never had any particular goals, let's say, I never thought of reading books with the common theme. I don't count the books on art or artists, some of them are just university reads, but the majority of them just my go-to books 😅 I am glad you enjoyed my TBR, thank you for your kind words☺️
_Why Stories Work_ sounds interesting. I haven’t read much Korean lit, but I like Richard E Kim’s three books. The first details the war; the second, its sequel, concerns a coup attempt (and I loved it even more). His book of short stories delves more into cultural history. Last year I read _Meeting My Brother_ by Yi Mun-Yol and liked it a lot; the hardback was a lovely edition and it is short.
