True worst case scenario is ben in the middle of a pass it on taking a familiar dish to the normal then putting a twist on it they will never know. Sometimes I think he does it on purpose to make a more entertaining video but he also seems like the sort of person that can't just have a simple nice meal, like a burger and chips for example, without putting some weird twist on it that actually takes away from what would have been a simply tasty dish.
As he says himself "less is more" and I think he needs to learn that lesson as much as the normals.

@@reluctanttechnologist3766 As very much a normal I can say Ben is the least relatable there. I can relate to Kush and James because while they are chefs and have the same passion for food as ben, they also know the limits of a normal home cook and understand what we like in our food. They are able to relate to the average person in a way ben can't. I just feel like if Ben wants the team to succeed in a pass it on then he should restrict himself from going to areas of cooking that only the other chefs will understand.

I screamed at the screen to Mike- evertime he called the prawns 'lobsters' and that pickled lettuce!!! NNOOO! And I will now call the bean curds sheets 'pasta'- hahaha I can't believe Mike snacked on them uncooked like that- but hey- to all their own.
Loved Jamie's "ZEN" moments but it did him well; even if he ledt the shells in there- hahah
What fun- love you guys! You guys all passed; you guys are a great team! ❤❤❤❤❤

Can we give a huge shout out to Jamie? He was SO SMART going into this and tasting everything, and doing a test bowl to get the right balance of ingredients before putting it into the final bowl! Fantastic job!
(Okay the shells in the broth were a miss, but easy enough to pull those out and avoid them! Also, it is so easy to miss/forget details like that when you're under a time crunch!)

everyone blaming Jamie for the unstrained broth. But Barry noticed immediately and DID NOT STRAIN IT, spend 5 minutes not cooking and then put on prawns to cook. 😭

Ben made a great start, as he usually does. So funny when Jamie (while dancing) did not strain the broth and when Mike kept referring to the prawns as lobster. Barry, I think was expecting too much from himself when just getting the prawns cooked, and the bowl prepped really added to the final dish.

Love these videos! You should try one where you put a bunch of the past pass it on themes on the wheel and each person spins at the start of their turn to see which rule they get! I.e. act on impusive thoughts, only use frozen ingredients, use kitchen gadgets, etc.

  • @davidwoods7221
    @davidwoods7221 3 месяца назад +17

Love these! For the scoring, you should have the first person rate 1-10 as a base, then the next person can give a +/- modifier depending on if they think they made it better or worse.
Would be interesting to see what the dish's end score/10 would be compared to what they think it should get at the end.
For example: First person gets to the end of their time and scores themself an 8.
Next person comes in, assumes a score based on what they see. Then at the end of their time they really made a mess of it and gives a -2 modifier. So dish is now a 6
Next person kills it and gives themselves a 3. Dish is a 9
Last person flubs and gives a -1. Dish is an 8/10
And see if they think that score holds true once they try it.

Jamie was great here. He tested the broth and adjusted before instead of just plating it as is. Dude deserves a 9/10 cause he did leave the shells in, if he’d strained the broth it would have been a 10/10

Spaff, aside from the straining incident, I think you did great!
You tasted all the ingredients, tried your best to balance it, added a bunch of the ingredients, and plated it in an appealing way. On top of that, you remembered a bunch of these unusual ingredients as well as their flavour characteristics; probably because you like snacking on everything in these challenges. 😅
    I enjoyed your energy!

I think Mike just had a bit of a rough day on this one. 5:20, didn't he technically raid the store cupboard by using that little bit of oil in the pan? In the strictest sense, that right there could make it a fail even if the end result was good. 😯

great episode! its so much better when everyone is clear on what is being done so in the end its actually something edible
I would suggest adding lifelines to each member
like ask kush for a tip on what to do or what something is
    and leave a note
like if something needs to be coked all 40m (put the chicken in the oven asap) just a short tip
swap back to someone else but they must also have a lifeline over or else you lose half your time or something
