The Diver's Grave (Exandrian Folk Song)

- The first in what I plan to be a series of in-world songs that would be sung by the people of Exandria. I'm working on a rather large project right now that will take a long time, but I want to keep posting things like this while I work on it, so my plan right now is to release a new CR song every month until the aforementioned project is finished.
This one is based on the Diver's Grave, and it includes a little shanty that Matt wrote and sang for the players as an NPC in Darktow.

Where once the waters rolled calmly by,
Where ocean’s heart did sing,
There stalked a lass with a hungry eye,

With lantern lure of a glimmer pot,
With treasure in their eyes,
Below they swam to the gold they thought,
Would await them as their prize
Yet each of them went to surely die,
Their graves to not be found,
For Dashilla and her hungry eye,
Collects the lost and drowned
Now I lie with the dead
The sunken and the drowned
Phantoms, wrecks, and dread
Can in the Diver's Grave be found

And you incorporated Matt's shanty from the episode! So good, I almost had to paus halfway through because of the sensory overload of all the goosebumps! A masterpiece!
The framing of this video is wonderful! The underexposed black shadowed sections of rock, the guitar slightly under exposed that hides any dings or imperfections, the green that tints the overall colour palette and looks less scummy than in person, the still reflection in the pooled water, the interface of the curved rock edges against the overexposed water, shimmer, waves and circling of some water, ending at an infinity that bleeds beyond the top of the frame. I'm thinking you've been to this spot before, maybe?
Amazing, (as always) but this just goes to show how amazing Matt is at storytelling, and how great you are at integrating your music into his world, I could totally imagine a bard singing something like this in the background, and if Matt ever asked you to write a song for the background music of a tavern, to connect the C3 to Vox Machina/Mighty nein, I'd probably die with happiness.

I absolutely love all the songs you make because it’s literally the kind of music that I’m into. And that mixed with Critical Role is just *chef’s kiss* perfection. I’ve been listening to a lot of your songs on repeat lately, and THIS shall be no exception. It’s so beautiful and haunting, and I loooove the way you incorporated Matt’s lyrics from the campaign. The harmonies that came in at “With lantern lure of a glimmer pot” etc. just gave me chills. And the ambience in general!!! UGH, WOW. All of this is so good and just feels so real; exactly something I can hear the people of Exandria singing. Beautiful beautiful beautiful 👏👏

I love the way you manage to create atmosphere with your music. While I love your lyrics and the way you manage to capture the characters with your words, the music comes through even if someone has never heard about CR: I showed quite a few of your pieces to my sister (who has no clue about CR) and she got the core of the characters pretty spot on just based on your music!

It’s frustrating bc i can play many instruments, but I just can’t come up with lyrics!
