Paul getting frustrated when his opponent plays poorly is so relatable. It's one thing to lose a well played match, it feels so bad to lose to an opponent stumbling their way through good cards.
Reminded me of my commander games yesterday. I was the one fumbling with a giant boardstate, a full grip and too many playable options to count (but I kept making the wrong one) and my opponent was the one getting frustrated. 😅 I understand though. It's the love for the game that makes you want to see it played well. A perfect execution of the game plan is soothing to watch. Even by your opponents.
The constant commentary you have doing your draft choices and each turn is really helpful, especially since it means I can follow along even when I'm not looking at my screen. Thank you!
In my two dimir trophy decks so far I actively wanted to play Cephalid Inkmage: it synergizes well with a lot of stuff, namely Scavenger’s threshold ability, filling your graveyard with creatures for Zombify, grabbing value off cards like Think Twice (which you will always play) and Self-Reflection (more rarely), or just smoothing out your future draws. If it happens to survive to the late game, hey, it starts pecking for 2 dmg every turn. In my second deck, I made a point of including a critical mass of creature ETBs so that my Run Away Togethers and Fake your Own Deaths would achieve their maximum potential. All in all, a very solid 3-drop in Dimir if you build around it slightly, if not incidentally!
Hey Paul, love your content and your positive attitude. I think black red is very strong and I'm surprised it's not played more in limited. Look forward to more videos and good luck at the arena championship!
thanks as always for the bedtime content, paul! Tinybones has pretty solid 17lands stats- I think the baseline synergy with an already good common, alongside a mana sink ability that kind of messes with opponents, makes it a 2 drop that gets there. I’ve definitely played opponents that over-value the 4 mana ability tho lol (add to the board first!!!!)
Canada post is on strike so it's even harder to order cards than usual right now BUT I'll be using your tcg affiliate code when i put in my next big order of foils for my cube
I suspect Tolarian Terror is one of those cards that end up with bad win rates because going in to the set everyone "knew" it was supposed to be great and kept cramming it into their decks.
Who would've thought drafting bomb rares was good? XD I had a 7-1 run with GW counters that had the layline axe, genessis wave, exemplar of light and double gw unicorn that puts counters, the cherry on top? Overrun
I know it's bad, there's no denying it, but I was secretly hoping you'd try to go off with Lunar Insight in conjunction with Leyline Axe and the Terror from earlier in the pack.
Thank you so much for this amazing video! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Homunculus is better than you think in the right deck, worst case you play it on 4 and it always draws removal making your flyers safer and especially with micromancers drawing the distraction it's great synergy.
That's true it can be bad in certain situations versus aggressive decks with cheap removal, it's not really a high prio pick, but the meta is pretty slow and in certain matchups it single-handedly won me the game.
Teach me how to draw mana like you do. 118 games played in this format with a 47 almost 48% mana screw, while running 18 lands btw. God is trying to tell me not to play.
Feels like a bait and switch.... I am disappointed by the "homunculus army." This lead me to believe that your deck was built around him... not just the one coincidental copy
The way you win with just solid fundamental magic is why I learn from watching you and love your content so much
agreed, cheon is the man. I tell my friends who are interested in limited to watch this channel.

Indeed, truly the worst feeling

Agreed. His opponent was probably the worst player I've seen in a while. Dude made all the mistakes he could possibly make. Embarrassing

Glad you enjoy it!
this video was for the people and i appreciate that

Great stuff love Dimir control, thanks!
What’s crazy is I looked at the deck when he drafted it. It seemed like a pretty difficult draft to navigate, but then your trophy with it. Well done

top 100 in the ranks, top 1 in my heart
Multiple Homunculii? I'll have my EYE on this deck!
So Dimir, so mindful.

your pronunciation of gourmand was actually pretty good!
Thx!
I think pilfer is pretty good, and with your skkeleton it should be even better
You’re doing a great job pronouncing vampire gourmand! Keep it up.
Thanks! 😃
Did not expect Leyline Axe to be one of if not the MVP of the Dimir deck 😂
Horde is the goat I refuse to hear anything otherwise
He did the thing !!!
Doing good Paul, keep the faith man! I still play Second Rite dealing 10, LSV was right. I've won so many games with that card.
Nah
I've went off with homunculus twice, which I know is not normal, but it's played well for me.
Canada post is on strike so it's even harder to order cards than usual right now BUT I'll be using your tcg affiliate code when i put in my next big order of foils for my cube
Can't go wrong with the Leyline axe as the first overall pick.
Blue Green would have been nice.
But pack 1 Black was indeed _really_ open.
that chandra crushed my soul hang in there paul
ty!
Great draft! Your previous Dimir decks didn't trophy because they didn't have hordes of homunculi ;)
I suspect Tolarian Terror is one of those cards that end up with bad win rates because going in to the set everyone "knew" it was supposed to be great and kept cramming it into their decks.
Possibly, but I simply think the card is worse than it was in dominaria as well
30:24, opponent conceded at 20 life #JustDimirThings
I love Fake Your Own Death, it always over performs for me. Def would have taken it over the Terror

Jeez Paul, did you join a country club or something with all the High Society Hunters you were facing
haha
22:40 yea, that's how most of us feel these days :(
38:17 No Leyline! Denied!
How in God's green earth did 'plowmaster' hit mythic with those kind of plays.
It must be some little kid playing on his brother's account or something
Please spare me some of your gems, Paul!
Homunculus is better than you think in the right deck, worst case you play it on 4 and it always draws removal making your flyers safer and especially with micromancers drawing the distraction it's great synergy.
Idk. Losing a 4 mana creature to 1 mana stab is saddening

Black green
The second opponent did so many mistakes.
Is TCGPlayer the successor to Brainburst? Am I too old for Magic now?
yes
I had to stop watching after the opponents play at 28:20. Too painful to bear
Think of it this way: If Plowmaster can make it to mythic playing like this, there is no limit to what YOU can do.
Teach me how to draw mana like you do. 118 games played in this format with a 47 almost 48% mana screw, while running 18 lands btw. God is trying to tell me not to play.
Play more games
Why didn't you pick Tatyova on the p1p3?
Not very good
@@haumph how the tables have turned
So much green shit talk while mono green quietly sits as the most winning archetype for mythic players on untapped :p
