I could watch these roasts all day! Love that you’ve made this a recurring segment on your channel. Wish my submission made the cut but understand you can only include so many. Keep them coming Spro!
Thanks! Glad so many folks seem to enjoy these. They’re a fun break from the regular stuff I do. And keep submitting you never know when your setup will make the cut.
Espresso machine next to the sink is practical IMHO. Refill with a pull out hose is a breeze, cleaning stuff is easy, blasting out the steam wand just inside the sink is wonderful.
Sure there are some benefits. But for me the idea of having it next to a place where there are dirty dishes, old food, potential for bacteria. And for me, and a lot of places in the American southwest our water is wayyyy to hard to put directly into the machine. It would scale up in a matter of weeks.
LOL! I loved it. I like your reviews in general, I like them a lot, but I like you when you're talking of the cuff. I like when Sprometheus is spontaneous!
Pleasantly surprised to see this again! It feels like you have a lot of fun making this type of video which is nice to see. I think for the next one maybe you can do like a “budget version” where you only rate set ups that are
Thanks Allen, glad you enjoyed it. And yes, that’s an interesting concept. It may be a good idea to start tailoring them into different groups to even the playing field some.

I watch your videos religiously now, having recently discovered them. I hope you will give us sufficient warning and alternative methods to Instagram for including a submission next time around. In the meantime, keep up the great work. Really enjoying your contributions and learning a lot!
Hello and thank you for taking the time to share this. I appreciate you doing so, and your support. And absolutely will have to try a few other means of submitting next time around. Cheers and have a great weekend!
On the tray is fine. Personally I leave mine in all the time and never had an issue with gaskets wearing prematurely. I don’t crank them fully in though.
Haha first person to notice it. I bake in my off time, and have a Dutch oven/bread oven that I use for sourdough and I was in a hurry and without thinking grabbed a handle that had been in the oven for an hour at around 250c/480f.
I’d love to get a flat burr grinder for my own set up but it’s very confusing as to what to choose. Any suggestions? I can handle around $1500 and nothing high pitched in sound
There’s a lot of solid options in that price range. The Sculptor 064s is one of my favorites from the past year. Also, if you want grind by weight the Eureka Mignon Libra is what I use in my kitchen and it’s just a great daily grinder.
Yeah I actually recorded about an hour of these and chopped it in half. The ones that got cut really didn’t have much to roast or rate or I didn’t have much to say so consider it a win haha
Samul has the coffee bar sitting on Haller system furniture, which is a very high-end though subtle aesthetic, very impressive, so I come to the same conclusion from a different point of view. And YES, you were kind of hard on some nice set ups.
August 23 batch for your Z1? Awaiting mine also. I’d be interested in submitting my ‘hallway’ and my ‘office’ setups. But I don’t use/have Instagram. Reddit, discord, emails?
I’m just on the wait list. Not sure when it comes around again. Just waiting for the email I guess. And yeah. I think I may do an email submission or something still figuring that out but will post it on my community tab when I do.
There will definitely be another. I’m trying to figure out a better, more broadly available way to submit. Keep an eye on the community tab to see what I come up with.
I’m trying to come up with a way more people can submit than just on Instagram. Keep and eye on the community tab on my channel for an update on that soon.
My “setup” is in the cabinets and spread all over. Take it out everyday. Put it away everyday. 4-5 locations store things. Shared space with a young family. Thus why some weekdays I just have a jug of cold brew ready to save time.
I was just doing Instagram DMs but I’m coming up with another submission format soon so more people can get on board. Keep an eye out on my community tab for info soon.
Haha that’s a good idea. And yeah, I’ll plan another at some point in the next 6 months or so but in the meantime I’ll find a way for more people to submit.
I do apologize for the incredibly messy setup I was sporting, it was a chaotic time and a 3/10 is super fair. That is my first setup and we have limited space in our kitchen for it all, so I had to make it work somehow. I have since bought a shelving unit to store everything and it is looking significantly better these days. The cups just happened to be what I had, same with the pitcher, though there is also some image distortion happening, the pitchers aren't that enormous, really. Anyway, thanks for the review, I had fun 😄 (jo_j1993, by the way)
Haha no need to apologize! All in good fun. My kitchen setup isn’t nearly as clean and organized as my studio and also depends on how busy I am etc. thanks for submitting and taking part!
Is there a particular reason why you dislike Coffee setups next to a sink? I put my Espresso maschine next to the sink on purpose for years because it is so convenient...
In his place, water from the tab is way to hard to use in an espresso machine so no advantage (for him!) to have it close to the water tab. He associates a sink with dirty dishes and leftover food and is afraid bacteria might jump into his coffee. I have my machine next to the sink just like you. It’s very practical and I keep my sink clean. That and it would be quite a challenge to put live bacteria in your espresso brewed with close to boiling water. 😁
In the beginning it was via Instagram DM but I’m going to come up with a new submission format for everyone. Keep your eyes on the community tab and I’ll announce it soon.
Also I can't believe you didn't comment on the doily on top of the Niche in the first setup! It's A DOILY! It looks like their nonagenarian grandmother lives with them and she goes around covering every appliance with doilies whenever it's not in use!
Thanks for this, Sprometheus - very entertaining. I would very much like to submit my setup for your next roast batch (sic). By the way - you didn’t mention how entries were going to be made. And I don’t want to miss out on the next round. How will we know how & when to contribute? On the topic of setups next to sinks - what is your gripe with them? Personally, I think having my machine next to my sink is a blessing. I can already sense you’re deducting points from my future score 😂😂 - but hear me out: Having my espresso machine next to my sink gives me the closest possible access to cleaning portafilter, baskets, pitchers and so on. Is it the chrome overload factor with sinks you object to? As to that, and the chrome overload factor in machines - you mentioned that you find them a nightmare to clean. So did I - until I tried putting vodka in a little spray bottle, spritzed it on the surface of my chrome machine and wiped it off with a microfiber cloth. Worked like magic! It’s actually a joy to see how shiny clean my machine becomes after giving it the ole vodka treatment! Love your channel! Keep up the good work! Greetings from Norway! 🕊❤️☕️
You’re welcome and thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. On the topic of a sink being close by, I just imagine all the smell, dishes, soaps, and possible bacteria that could build up if a bit of food or something ended up under the machine or in the drip tray. Also, when it comes to cleaning I really do my best to not let much of any grinds get down the sink so it would just be too easy to get lazy and make a mess out of my plumbing. And for those of us in places where our water quality is dirty or hard, cleaning with it leaves streaks and using it in your machine could end up turning your boiler into a scaled up mess. But in the end it’s just a personal preference. Oh and if you want to submit keep an eye out on the community tab here on RUclips, I’m going to come out with a way everyone can take part.

What grinder is that from fyeck at 12:01?
Honestly, I have no idea .
It looks a bit like a Xeoleo hand grinder but it’s not an exact match.
Oh no, they are in the business of copying other brands.
Ha I found it!
