***** do you know him? Watch his documentary he's actually a self-absorbed ass when he leaves the stage. I find that performers can be completely different once they leave that stage. Don't get me wrong Conan as we see him on tv is absolutely hilarious and seems like a good person. In real life he's someone I wouldn't want to meet. His channel has the movie for free right now- check it out.
+Chandler's Entertainment I didnt get that impression of him when watching the documentary. I've always heard good things from people who have met him.
+Chandler's Entertainment I think the documentary put him in a good light. To me it was a man who struggled but still tried to make the best out of everything.
I've loved Conan since I was 12 (I'm 33 now), and he's my favorite person/comedian of all time. I finally got the chance to meet him last Thursday at his taping and he was so kind and generous and hilarious. I use a wheelchair and had to go through a different entry gate with my friends. We had to wait for awhile and had gotten to know one of the PAs before the show while we were waiting. We were laughing and chatting and my friends were telling him how much I love Conan. After we finally got seated, apparently the PA told Conan's assistant how much I love him. I was sitting in the front row because of my wheelchair, and Conan purposely went out of his way to come talk to me after he did his monologue. I thought he was just swooping in for a quick hug (I had a sign asking him to hug me), but he gave me a bear hug and then he chatted with me for a few minutes, made some jokes, met my friends, and told me I looked really beautiful. Before he went to shoot the next segment, he asked if I wanted him to autograph my sign later. Of course, I said yes. Right after the show, he whipped out a sharpie from his jacket and came straight over to me. He signed my poster, and chatted with me a bit more. Then he stood up, but instead of leaving, he leaned back down, I thought to give me another hug, but instead he kissed me on the cheek. I felt like I was glowing from the inside out. Then the PA came back with four Pop Vinyl Conans for me and my friends. Conan said, "Oh yeah!" and signed a Ghostbuster Pop Vinyl Conan for me. At that point, his assistant told him they needed to go, but Conan handed us the rest of the figures and said he was so glad to meet me and waved goodbye and I just sat there, radiating joy. No one is a perfect person, obviously, but he is clearly a caring man to take so much time to talk to me, and he couldn't have been kinder to me and my friends. Plus, it's hard to imagine so much of his staff literally following him across the country to do another show with him if he were just a huge ass. Ever since my experience of meeting him last week, I've felt so happy. I'm so grateful to Conan for exceeding my expectations and to the PA for putting in a word with Conan's assistant. What a wonderful experience! :)
@@chandlersentertainment7314 I watched the documentary and didn't get that impression. He's clearly obsessed with trying to entertain every possible person he could find while exhausting himself in the process, but I don't think that paints him in a bad light
Whether you think Conan is funny or not (and those of you who don't are categorically WRONG, for the record), he's a man that worked his ass off behind the scenes for years so he could propagate an idea through comedy...an abstract ideal thta we can all aspire to...regardles of class, race, or rank. It's clear that his goal is commiseration and joy. Lets not forget his final message on NBC...that "cynicism is my least favorite attrribute". There's plenty else to laugh at. Thank you, Conan.
The time between this being recorded and uploaded is the same length as how long ago the video was uploaded. And it was recorded just after the nineties. Damn, RUclips; you old.
@zoboomafoo24 When he started dating his now wife in 2000, he's said that she cooked for him all the time and he gained a ton of weight (he's slightly chunkier in 2002). I think it was after the wedding he took up bike riding and went back to his normal size
I was here for this, the day before my graduation from grad school...I'd left my dorm room and sat down, forgetting all about my dad that was helping me move out. XD
Tonight I felt sick to my stomach seeing Conan go. I'm so angry with NBC that they could be so blind to his vision and his appeal to us young people. I mean honestly, I'm 14-years-old and he has me literally rolling on the floor til I can't breathe. And now for him to be replaced with this old man and his retarded rehearsed one-liners is just sickening. Conan is so natural and unpretentious. That's what makes him beautiful. I'm going to miss you Conan -- I love you.
This is too funny--Conan is my comedic hero. We Cornellians get Toni Morrison at our commencement, but I would trade her any day for this hilarious-ness!
The purpose of the commencement speech is to humble and inspire the graduating class. These kids worked their asses off so they can change the world. Sure...some of them are rich kids that had zero potential energy in the first place, but for the most part, they're kids that had more foresight, disipline and compassion than the rest of you armchair pundits to enter the world with a foundation of insight and understanding to affect some sort of positive change.
Jay Leno's ratings, once he resumes his rightful position as host of The Tonight Show, will inevitably go back to where they were when he was still on The Tonight Show, beating out Letterman on CBS, Nightline and Jimmy Kimmel on ABC, all of the movies, shows, & local programming on all of the other networks; and Conan will be a fading memory!
SpookeyR is simply unaware of the 46% drop in ratings of the 10PM slot on every night of NBC. Conan started out above Letterman, and was above Letterman. Then Letterman had his scandal and the 10PM slot faded. FAST. Leno's show was dying, and by his show dying, LOCAL NEWS, was dying for all affiliates. Conan's ratings were bad, because he had the worst lead-in in the history of television. He didn't demand his show back from Fallon, because Conan doesn't put others' jobs at risk. He is class.
"I hate cynicism, for the record it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen" -Conan O'Brien u call that a man who should be kicked off the air? fuck u people who hate conan. He will be missed but i promise u, he WILL return in september, even if he isn't on NBC, i dont care cuz all i want to see is my show, the conan O'Brien show.
@Honeypott310 I'll be calling Mr. Zucker and letting him know that I think that keeping Leno, and moving him back to The Tonight Show is a great idea! It's unfortunate that Conan is being fired with the way that he is, what with the bad PR & all but, it's not like Conan is really all that funny anyway!
I don't think I've loved anyone more than Conan...seriously.
I understand this sentiment completely lol. :)
Me too . he is REAL comedian.
bout your mom?
I feel the same way :)
Your parents?
this guy is a pure genius

How can one have so much personality, be funny, and smart at the same time

Conan O'Brien could write a good movie based on a Harvard student researching his thesis.
Conan is the man
"We don't need it... we just want it."
