My uncle built that. As I was growing up I watched this being built. They (his wife was my Aunt and loved Italy as much) would travel often to Italy and bring home bits, as well as photographs of the buildings. It took ages to build, but was amazing to see as they were going up. That was a chicken coup, he was a chicken farmer for years.
There's a real life size Italian village near my home town in North Wales its called Portmeirion its famous over the world and has been a filming site for some well known Movies, Its close to Porthmadog and just outside of Penrhyndeudraeth, You should visit theres a lot of nice places to see and do stuff in Portmeirion and Porthmadog area.
@@andyxox4168 Yes I spelt it wrong ,no big deal ,but that’s what the man who designed the village based it on. .The place certainly isn’t looking Welsh .
I am dumbfounded, it is grand! many thanks for that magical glimpse into architectural schools in miniature...doric, ionic, corinthian, tuscan, composite.... Un grand merci. Museum quality:)
I lived down the road there in my teens, magical place. Further up that path it Opens up to a clearing with the shell of a small village and a petite waterfall. Down in Corris village there is also a huge spooky church that looks abandoned. Menacing as fuck vibes form it. Would be amazing if you explored more of that area.
I do Toy photography, i immediately saw this and thought I'm gonna go to that B&B seen as though someone has left a beautiful little movie set there.. Cheers boys!
Yes!! This would be a great spot for that. I used to do some with my partner until we had a kid, but I still see spots sometime and think about bustin some toys out.

That place is great!, just like Wales is!😁, perfect weather to film that aswel, makes it look all the more authentic!😃, Loving the new slick hairdo Norton!, very smart indeed!😁👌, Takecare geezers!😜✌
no it fukin wasn't. Always been Llandudno and snowdon. Port Merion was and Italian style fake village nr Port madoc which feature in The Prisoner tv series , you might be thinkin ov that
Does anyone know of any updates on this place? I found it online and I also found articles it says about the locals trying to reserve and restore it. I don’t think it’s an Airbnb anymore unfortunately
The arch is used for concrete shuttering you build around it .then take it away ,I worked on the huge manholes for drainage on motorways bck in the 80,s , peace
Cool place..an your haircut..you look so different, I almost thought there was someone new in the group lol Anyway just wanted to say hi an luv you guys❣💋💋
I saw this not long ago, the couple died I think. The national park has taken it up and they will restore the garden which is brill. Glad you went to see it, looks even better on a nice day ;)

@@disullivan958 There's a lot of Port Meirion left I think. I'm pretty sure it's still open. I was THERE a few years ago! Nice place. Weird though. I ought to go again actually.
Is that the place where there are dragons buried underneath it ? Actual dragons ? Did the Welsh fight off real dragons because they kept eating their sheep , and well , the Welsh _reallllly_ like their sheep if y'know what I mean . ?
@@deozeo4442 Don't forget the Yorkshire man!, maybe that's why the Hoe guys spend a lot of time in Wales, 😁 Diversity!🤣 also why they get on so well with Kurt!😁🤣✌
Feck Norton has traveled back in time and he now looks about 16 again I wish he would tell us the magical ingredient so I can fix my age decreasing time machine.
Why didn't you see the Colosseum? It looks like the sculptor was mostly interested in Renaissance architecture. Maybe he wasn't interested in classical buildings.
Please tell me it’s the little village of Llanelli? I’ve always suspected this, and that the Welsh got the Italians to do their place names. But the Welsh never had any intention of following the recommended pronunciation guide. 👍🏻🙂

@@andyxox4168 Portmeirion is an Italianesque village .
@@maskedavenger2578 That's what I was about to say also haha.

Like Norton said. 'It's a jig.' It's for moulding arches.
a shoe maker in Italy ...Coblers
What an amazing place! And some laughs too, best exploring channel on RUclips 🖤
The ‘part’ you found is a jig for building an arch, build the arch over the top then take it away once the mortar has set.

The thing that looks like roof is a wooden form for making brick arches.

It's a shame if this place isn't maintained, those are fantastic models. What a cool place

They must have had a thing about Italian structure in Wales because there is Portmerion too.
Apparently it started as a full sized Italian village, but it shrunk in the wash :P
