@@ashamednature3339 Stop copy pasting in every comment like an idiotic moron, without proper evidence to show.
I have brought all the Upanishads from Gita Press and at my home we also have Shiva Purana and they perfectly fine and understandable.
There is not one translator in Gita Press, there are several scholars who do translation, and each is published separately. They also do the translation of different commentaries as well, the commentaries that have been done by Adi Shankharacharya, Abhinavguapta, Madhavacharya etc.
And to understand any Sanskrit text even if its translation, one needs to have prior knowledge of the texts, what they are about to expect, the other works of the commentator on which his works his based on, for eg: Vedanta or Kashimiri Shaivism or Advaita etc. In several cases you just can't pick up a text and start reading and expect to understand everything, one needs to understand the context and the foundation on which the texts are based.

These so called western scholars (I think) know the language but have a different agenda to diminish the value of Indian culture and civilization. This has been an on going trouble. Some of it is due to religious thinking and some just due to a pure phobia...Hindu-phobia.

always lacked the "purushartha" required to comprehend indian knowledge.
They NEVER experienced the level of conciousness which fractal minded ancient indian sages did , thus their language vocabulary is also similarly handicapped to comprehend the Sanskrit non-translatables .

15 minutes into the video and I have now already started to see how the so called scholars of Sanskrit, are either careless in translating it correctly or it is their apathy towards the language which motivates them to leave the translation with so many errors. If Sanskrit is to be translated it must be done very carefully, without distorting the beauty/rasa of the original text and it's time that we Indians should take the responsibility to own the department of translating and scrutinizing the translation done by others for the rest of the world. Excellent, I am impressed with Mr. Nityananda's knowledge of Sanskrit. It proves that only Indians should have the authority to translate Sanskrit for the rest of the world.

It is like first grade student trying to interpret a book of graduation level, who doesn't understand the complexities involved.
And the later generations blindly taking up those interpretations to be true.Leading to a recipe of disaster.
It brings a caution for seekers of true knowledge.
    Thank-you

This is scholarship at a very high level, and a real pleasure to listen to. Even without being a Sanskrit scholar, I have sufficient Sanskrit vocabulary from my mother tongue Telugu to understand what is being discussed. Shri Nityananand Mishra's dissection of Mr. Goldman's work has real implications for arresting the propagation of scholarly errors in works of Samskritam. The longer the errors propagate, the harder the record gets to correct.

In Western world they are big because we haven't presented ourselves to them or we limited to ourselves. Thanks to vivekananda and srila prabhupad kind of Exemplaries, who introduced actual Indology to western audiences.

I totally agree with Danny B.Another profound example of misinterpretation is how 'yoga' is treated with in the western world and in most part of modern India towards more material benefits, contrasting it with the original meaning(Yoga means:'Union with the supreme'). Which puts more emphasis on knowing ones true nature,no doubt physical health is also important in yoga practices but not the ultimate goal.Physical health is given importance only to the extent of it being helpful to know oneself.

Without doubt, Gita Press has done a great service to Hinduism. The entire Hindu society must be indebted to them. We should not expect the foreigners (Christians) to do justice to our religion. On the contrary, they will try very hard to protect Hindus and Hinduism in a very poor light and inferior to Christianity. We should not walk into their trap.
Long live Gita Press and long live Seth Jaidayal Goindka and Bhai Hanuman Prasad Poddar.

I bought Bhagavat Gita as it is but didn't feel like reading after few chapters then few weeks back bought Gita Eng transileration and translation in English. Trust me when I say this there is a hell and heaven difference. Gita press book has exact dialogue and translation without any bias modifications... Unlike the Iskcon one... I have completed 18 chapters with ease and fully satisfied by the divine words... Price is very reasonable and good printing quality.... One should read exact words and understand it by their own level.. Commentaries and purport drifts u away from the actual sayings.... Coz its the speaker's thinking not of Divine Supreme being....
Looking forward to buy more books from Gita Press.....
