Absolutely agree with you. They are still together according to another comment on this video.
There are so many negative comments on the other video of them that i watched but it didn't put me off and I was transfixed to their story the whole way through.
I think a lot of people don't understand that this is the way East Asian culture is and is portrayed so candidly as you say, that they don't appreciate the point and uniqueness of it.
      Its an excellent documentary!

His expression was like… why are you showing my “signature”to the camera. 😗
They are such a cute couple and I’m glad the wife helps mediate with her family. It really helps to have a tough wife who has your back and can still be fair. Most people are not confrontational so they will just ignore the little things but those little things will start to fester. So I’m really glad she is all about action and will immediately do something about it. ❤

His name is Gareth, not "Gallus", a search in social media shows he works in British embassy in Korea now, likely meant the marriage worked out well :)
(Against 1 of the comments saying this marriage won't work out, well it did work out 18 years on). This footage is likely 2004 / 2005.

Gallus is kind in many ways to his wife but he’s far too stubborn, which leads to rudeness to her family. I understand living in the same building with your inlaws isn’t easy but he needs to try control his temper more. I can see he’s trying his best though, people can’t change immediately from what they’re used to.

Just written the way the narrator is saying it following Korean pronunciation rules. Korean doesn’t have a “th“ sound natively and L and R are the same letter. This was in 2004 there was much less focus to make translations globalized then as it was assumed only Koreans would watch this.

Interracial marriages are HARD! It's just that simple. Both Mi-gyung and Gareth are working through the hardships of 2 completely different cultures so they don't lose themselves. This is what interracial couples should know about and decide if they are ready to do the hardwork for their love. Love is a luxury at the end of the day. The hard work is day-to-day life. More challenges are ahead once they have the baby and hopefully, Mi-gyung doesn't have any complications. But, if they push through the hard stuff and still cherish each other, this marriage is a thing of beauty and the children will learn so much from their example.

This man is trying very hard to fit into Korean culture. It’s very difficult for a foreigner to do so. And why does he do all these household chores. Why the woman can’t do a bit. I feel bad for this man. And after marriage they should live independently not with in-laws.And what is so amazing about this woman. Can’t he marry a more good looking woman from his own culture? And why can’t they have normal western food . Bread/ toast/cereal or something like that. He is being used as a slave in this family. Poor man. His fate. No respect he gets whatever he does.Foreigners can live independently in Korea without interference. But he chose this. It’s not love it’s pure slavery.Any person will get frustrated if he has to do so much hard work without appreciation. Not to particularly favour any race here but westerners are more loving and caring than south East Asians. Atleast they are friendly people. From all the episodes I have watched I have never liked this woman’s attitude. She should have stayed in her husband’s country and adjust there instead of dragging him to an unknown nation. This man is such a good gentleman and speaks logically. And this woman being pampered too much even by her own family members. As if the whole world only revolves around her.

Before we say anything negative or bad about someone, think that it’s not easy to go to another country, learn new difficult things and married to a different culture. If Gallus doesn’t love or willing to do anything to be with his beloved wife, he will probably not be here. He and his wife were new in marriage and there would be difficulties in having a new family and pregnancy. They can argue, sulk or cry if they’ve any problem because that’s normal for married couple, especially mix culture. But we can see at the end they still know how much they love each other. They reconcile and tried to make things better. For me that’s a healthy family. They help each other too including their families. Remember they know their own attitude or behaviour and they understand it better than us. How about us? Should we mirror ourselves first before saying anything? Can we do better than him sacrificing everything for love and family? I just hope everyone who reads this find happiness in life❤

And for his mother in law OMG she doesn’t like the dog always complaining of dog hair. The reason is Korean culture is keep dog outdoors but Callus culture dog is a part of family and live inside with family. Most of all the wife should explain to get family specially mother in law to understand of Callun with his beloved dog
