Thanks Jerry! The rain is just an effect available in Final Cut Pro X. Normally I wouldn't use cheesy effects but this one fit really well and was quite believable. Thanks for watching!
Thanks! The storm was unexpected but too cool to miss so I just setup the cam quick to grab this time-lapse. Had a lot of fun in the edit making it into something more cinematic. Thanks for watching!
Awesome. Look forward to see what you get out of the cam and copter! Ah yes, the water pain. I added a few effects here which I normally wouldn't but it worked in this situation.
I would love to get the 70D. It's an exciting camera and I might have to buy it although I wasn't planning to upgrade my camera. I could sell my T2i and get the 70D. Between that and making videos about it, I should be able to make my money back. Stay tuned!;)
bokeflo Correct, I used FCPX in this case. It's a simple effect inside FCPX that normally would be very cheesy and I wouldn't use most of the time but in this case it worked perfect so I had to leave it;) Thanks guys.
You definitely won't be disappointed. As you can see I love the cam and still think it's the best in it's market (crop sensor DSLRs). I'm excited for the 70D but yes it will be more money. One word of caution about Magic Lantern on your new cam...it voids your warranty. I've never seen any issues with ML causing a bricked camera but just so you are aware. I would play with the camera to make sure it's good before putting ML on.
You're welcome my friend. I have just brought a GoPro 3 black I am going to be doing some of this stuff for sure =) I use the same plug in effect so I spotted it but who cares this was done really well!
Loving the GoPro 3 =) Just been playing with the 4K and me likey! Gonna let you crack on my friend if my life is anything to go by your a busy guy! ATB Malc Country Pursuits TV PS I am buying the Canon 70D for definite!
The key here is that you'll actually be shooting photos not video. Time-lapse is done by stitching hundreds or thousands of photos together. Take a picture using the settings you need to get your exposure. Make sure to use a tripod. You'll also need a time or intervelometer. You'll be doing long exposures to get night shots.
Funny you should say that Ray I have been flying those multi rotors for a while now I'll buzz you a video of mine when I get the new camera in the air ;) The plug in or effect in FCPX is called "water pain" ATB Malc
I'd love to but unfortunately I don't own that camera. The only difference from what I know is that it has some extra settings for shooting the stars (a = astronomy). I don't think you'd see any quality difference, the sensor is the same I believe.
Great video, I have now made the decision to upgrade my 600D to 60D. I was between choosing to buy the 700D (newer and touchscreen) or wait for the 70D (even never and a combination of all the great features of each Canon camera) but finally decided to stay with the 60D just because it is more affordable fully supported by Magic Lantern (havent tried it yet) and is really an upgrade from a 600D unlike the 700D. Hope i made the right choice :) (waiting for it to arrive)
Ray, I'm in the middle of nowhere Virginia camping tonight and I have my dslr with me. I'd like to do a time lapse video of the stars. what are the ideal settings on manual for my camera with a 18-200mm lens? I had a f/3.5 and 1600 ISO but that didn't do the trick. I think I left out a setting. Help!
Beautiful lightnings. Great Timelapse😃👍⚡️⚡️⚡️
Thanks! An oldie but goodie. Your comment made me go back and watch it again, thanks!

Cool, that's an awesome little camera. Now you just need one of those cool new remote helicopters to put it on;) Which plugin are you referring to?
nice! are you getting the 70D? if you are, im looking forward to learning about the 70D with you(in a non creepy way) lol
I loveddddd it. Great job. How did you put the rain in Ray??? That I thought was very real. The rain on the windows.

Check out the full description for the secret;)
Can you do a review of the differences of a Cannon 60D and a Cannon 60Da?
