Ukulele is my instrument of choice, so it’s super cool to see your techniques in a familiar instrument. I don’t know if you have experience playing guitar, but ukulele is tuned the same way as the bottom four strings as a guitar. So the bottom four strings of a guitar, DGBE, (the exact same tuning as a baritone ukulele, which would also make a great gourd instrument) is just five half-steps lower than standard ukulele tuning, GCEA. If you take a guitar and put a capo on the fifth fret and just play the bottom four strings, you have a low g ukulele.
Hopefully you do know something about guitar, otherwise everything but the first sentence will be complete gibberish… I forgot to ask, what is the scale length and was it commissioned or is it for sale? I’m left handed so I wouldn’t be interested just because of the sound hole placement and headstock shape, but I know a guy that might be interested. Also, how did you accomplish the line up the fretboard? It looks great!
I can play some chords on guitar but am trying to get better. The fact that the uke has that high top string same as a banjo is what made me think I could play it clawhammer, which kinda worked. So does the baritone ukulele not have that higher fourth string? This will be available for sale as soon as I get a new tailpiece made and the get the frets all leveled and dressed properly, so it would be great if you know someone who'd like it! You'll have to watch the next build video when it comes out to see how I did the line up the fretboard, it's a cool method that I saw someone do on a cutting board a while ago.@@DeweyKentM
You play ukulele pretty well for someone who doesn’t know how to play ukulele. It just proves that there’s no single “right” way to play any instrument. If you’re getting interesting music to come out, then you’re playing it right…no matter how unorthodox the style.
Really enjoying the increased uploading frequency, love seeing the projects both in the works and completed 🔥🔥🔥
ur boutta blow up!!!!!!!
Brilliant as usual Ben!

Sounds freakin cool, keep playin it like a banjo imo, you rocked it
Came for gourd, stayed for moonscaped arch zone
I loved the sound and the fact that it has an f-hole, violin-style!
