Being aware of those bad habits is already the first thing that will help you stop doing them.
While I’ve already given you some clues on how to break these bad habits in specific, there are some general consideration you should have into account anytime you encounter a bad habit you’d like to break.
First of all identify it. Prompt journaling does wonders for this. Being aware of the things you do that you hate doing is the first step towards actually stopping doing then. You can use a checklist for this and literally go through all bad habits you are currently engaging in and that you’d like to stop.
Bad habits always have triggers. You do something because there is some sort of reward in your action, whether that’s a good habit or a bad habit. Identifying the habit and then identifying the trigger is what’s going to help you.
Eliminate the reward - Bad habits are developed because they reward you in some way. By eliminating the reward, there is no compelling reason to engage in that habit anymore. And of course this sounds simple but it’s actually something pretty difficult to do in the long run.If you can’t eliminate the reward, make the reward impractical to do. Increase the friction so that you don’t want to act anymore.

I'm both embarrassed and relieved after watching this: embarrassed because i have most of these awful habits, but relieved because i'm not the only one that has them 🙃

I deleted my Instagram and Facebook from my Home screen on phone and Each time i have to re download or open the app tab and type the name
My overall use of these apps have substantially reduced as its a task in itself
also I have time to think if I even want to open it rather than mindlessly scrolling through it
    It works !!

My brain: And what did you do with the other 23 hours?

Another tip regarding social media is to set a time you're allowed to spend inside each app every day. I tried setting a limit of an hour a day for Facebook and Instagram. Initially, I told myself I'd try it for a month - haven't changed it since 😊 (have gone above it once or twice). Setting a limit on Facebook Messenger, where I text friends and colleagues is another matter 😂🤣

I think that yes, some people are lazy. I know I am. But we just cannot let that take control of us, we have to fight against it. Great video! Loved the tips!

❤ thank you for the life lessons! You are so right that there are certain habits that we need to quit and 2023 is a great year to do that. Also, you are right about journaling. There is something very special about putting pen to paper that engraves what we need to do into our heads. Thanks for sharing.❤
