A tribute to a legendary truck

I used to work in the yard of a tile company in Nth London in the early 80's. Large fleet of tired knackered Bedford Tm's and well worked Ford D's. The company had depot's throughout the country so needed an artic to carry the big loads. Never for get the day the brand new 142 turned up with sign written curtain sided trailer. Compared to the old lorries it looked like a spaceship, seriously. Staff came out from the offices and warehouse to look at it. Awesome looking lorry.

They don't build trucks like this any more these were typical trucks of the 80s they were built to work drivers who had one must have thought they were top dog if your firm bought these hard to believe how far trucks have come
