Good for you. I'm in the UK, its fairly excepted. A lot of my friends have married younger women of varying age gaps between 6 to 20 years. One women in my apartment block was 22 with a 50 plus BF they lived here for 4 years and moved and got a house together. But I also watch a lot of US crime shows, including Judge Judie, a women that's been married multiple times, educating America by dressing down guys who take their younger ex GF to court, by saying "You know a man who's 33 should know better than dating a woman who's 22. They are still babies at 20. You know it's inappropriate - Not smart." I have seen similar opinions on US true crime shows, or even MTVs Catfish. It annoys me that that attitude prevals on some US shows. I know that age gap relationships do happen in the US but we never really get a UK TV show making an issue of such things.

I’m in my fifties and have dated women ranging from 25 to 55 years old. I have never really considered age, but rather compatibility as the driving factor. There was a conversation at work a while ago that was initiated by an article of a 60 year old rockstar with an 18 year old woman. Women are way worse at chasing young men once they are 28 and older. At 50, I met a girl of 25. I had concerns about how young she was, as I had nothing in common any girl 25 in the US. But we hit it off and had a lot of goals and values from which to build something from. She appreciated who and what I was, and I felt the same. After 4 years and multiple 30 day visits and about a million texts, calls and video chats I finally admitted that she was the one. And I got married on my 55th bday (2 weeks before she would be 30) we both walked the aisle. Returning from our visa trip to Vietnam, Philippine Customs went OUT OF THEIR WAY to give me a one year free entry visa because I returned together with my wife. Truly age did not matter. When I took my wife together with me to the UK; British Customs tried VERY HARD to convince my wife she was not allowed into the UK. But my wife persevered with them, and in the end they realized that because of her knowledge and awareness of her rights in her EU resident permit, they let her enter in with me. (At that time before BREXIT). However, although my friends were welcoming (they were so VERY IMPRESSED with my Philippine wife), as well as all the British people ignoring us (if it is lawful mostly they will leave you alone), the police found a chance to interrogate my wife one day when I was away and asked her questions if it was a forced or arranged marriage? (They were very serious). Clearly, the police could not comprehend how a 20 year old woman would want to marry a man much older and were keen to uncover a case of wife-abuse as a result of a traditional Muslim-type arranged marriage. You are quite right: if it's legal, no one has a right to say it is wrong. The problem with cultural conditioning and national patriotism is that people tend to be absolutely unbending as to their viewpoint. So, we did not settle in the UK. The officials in the UK seem to have a problem with Philippine nationals and seem to regarded them as third world imposters. We have been married for 11 years with 2 amazing healthy kids (combining genes far removed - two opposite sides of our planet makes healthy offspring). Contrast that with "in-breeding". This video had an excellent topic. About 10 years ago, here in the US, I had a relationship where I was 53 and she was 21. It lasted about 6 years and produced a child. Long story, but my point is, hardly anybody approved even after we were together for years. It made things difficult for sure. My wife is 26, i am 39. We met when she was sixteen. I had told her after realizing she had a crush on me at work that NOTHING would ever happen because her age. Well long story short, she continued to continue to be an amazing young lady, so when she turned 17, I went and spoke to her parents for an hour and asked if I could date their daughter. I think the main issue here is that things aren't being compared equally for old vs young men. With maturity and finances being equal with the younger and older guy of course the filipina is going to want to be with the younger guy she can spend more of her life with, raise a family, and age with. Alright, I haven't been commenting, but this deserves it. I'm not straight, I'm gay. My Filipino, who is several decades younger than I am, pursued me for 5 years. I fell in love with him quickly and he with me, but I initially refused to date him when he asked after a few months, because I didn't want to be seen as taking advantage of him (that's called being brainwashed) . He waited a year and asked again. I agreed, and after a very long process, including my spending 6 months in the Philippines with him after retiring years earlier than I had intended so I could do that, he entered earlier this year on a Fiancé visa, and we married . We are now involved in his change of status process on the way to him being a citizen. We could not be happier. There was NEVER a period of time when he could not have found someone my age and MUCH wealthier. Not that I am poor, I (now we) own several units of housing, I hold a doctorate in a relevant STEM field, and I had a full career, even if I cut it 5 years shorter than I probably would have, it left me with a very healthy monthly retirement check - BUT, he is gorgeous, sings like an angel and is physically perfect. He could have gotten a millionaire, if that was what he wanted. He didn't. He wanted me. I am the only man he has ever slept with, the only one he wants to be with and his actions have proved it. Further, he did not "need" me. He is from a good family with a successful farm (even by our standards here) and businesses. In his extended family are politicians who have made good (I'm not going to say which party list), and a very powerful jurist. He went to an excellent private university. He needed nothing I had and could easily have gotten a richer man - but here we are. WE talk about everything, we love each other like crazy, and he is the most... um... personally vigorous and active man I could ever imagine, much of the time several times a day. Interestingly, we are not really bothered by jealous people or angry people here, but I was prepared for us to be. My love always wanted nothing to do with his age mates on an intimate level, and always wanted a much older man. Two of his sisters are the same, and both married just about the same age gap as he and I. They are all wonderful people. It is not finances. Maturity maybe, but not finances.
As far as a larger age gap being “immoral”, the only time it’s actually immoral is if either the man or the woman is underage. I might not prefer an age gap of say 20 years or more, but if both people are consenting adults, who am I to say otherwise? Generally speaking, it is possible a younger woman being with an older man means she’s only with him for his money; trouble with that argument is it’ll happen regardless of age, and it differs from culture to culture. A more practical issue with larger age gaps is a lack of common interests, but again this differs between cultures. As far as I’m concerned if both people are happy and faithful to each other, that’s all that matters. Another practical issue is if either side brings kids into the relationship from a former relationship, for many men dating a single mom is an automatic no-go, at least in the west that is. It comes down to personal preferences.
I live in the US. My next door neighbor is about 60 and married to a filipina in her mid 20s. At first I thought this was strange. However, I no longer feel this way. She is very kind, and a hard working person who has much to offer in their relationship. With her help and support, they have even started a small business that is rapidly expanding. Also, as their neighbor, I have been exposed to lumpia and pork belly, which is awesome. I'm very happy for my neighbor, and am grateful to have been exposed to Filipino culture.
I have a friend here in the Philippines who has a 45-year age difference with his wife. Together over 11 years, married 2 years now. They seem to be very happy, traveling about 6 months a year. I have been with my wife over 10 years, 7 plus years of marriage, our age difference is about 26 years. First and only marriage for both of us. Many reasons for age gaps, many very happy couples with age gaps. Really, if the couples are happy, that should be the end of questions.

I just arrived back in America from the Philippines this past Sunday. I married my sweet beautiful Filipina. She lives in Caloocan City in the Monumento area. It's a completely different world there and I enjoyed staying there for a month and hated leaving my wife there and be far away from her again. Good for you. I'm in the UK, its fairly excepted. A lot of my friends have married younger women of varying age gaps between 6 to 20 years. One women in my apartment block was 22 with a 50 plus BF they lived here for 4 years and moved and got a house together. But I also watch a lot of US crime shows, including Judge Judie, a women that's been married multiple times, educating America by dressing down guys who take their younger ex GF to court, by saying "You know a man who's 33 should know better than dating a woman who's 22. They are still babies at 20. You know it's inappropriate - Not smart." I have seen similar opinions on US true crime shows, or even MTVs Catfish. It annoys me that that attitude prevals on some US shows. I know that age gap relationships do happen in the US but we never really get a UK TV show making an issue of such things.

Leonardo DiCaprio also got a lot flack because he was a serial dater of women in their 20's. There was a conversation at work a while ago that was initiated by an article of a 60 year old rockstar with an 18 year old woman. At 50, I met a girl of 25. I had concerns about how young she was, as I had nothing in common any girl 25 in the US. But we hit it off and had a lot of goals and values from which to build something from. She appreciated who and what I was, and I felt the same. After 4 years and multiple 30 day visits and about a million texts, calls and video chats I finally admitted that she was the one. And I got married on my 55th bday (2 weeks before she would be 30) we both walked the aisle. But my wife persevered with them, and in the end they realized that because of her knowledge and awareness of her rights in her EU resident permit, they let her enter in with me. (At that time before BREXIT). However, although my friends were welcoming (they were so VERY IMPRESSED with my Philippine wife), as well as all the British people ignoring us (if it is lawful mostly they will leave you alone), the police found a chance to interrogate my wife one day when I was away and asked her questions if it was a forced or arranged marriage? (They were very serious). Clearly, the police could not comprehend how a 20 year old woman would want to marry a man much older and were keen to uncover a case of wife-abuse as a result of a traditional Muslim-type arranged marriage. You are quite right: if it's legal, no one has a right to say it is wrong. The problem with cultural conditioning and national patriotism is that people tend to be absolutely unbending as to their viewpoint. So, we did not settle in the UK. The officials in the UK seem to have a problem with Philippine nationals and seem to regarded them as third world imposters. We have been married for 11 years with 2 amazing healthy kids (combining genes far removed - two opposite sides of our planet makes healthy offspring). Contrast that with "in-breeding". This video had an excellent topic. About 10 years ago, here in the US, I had a relationship where I was 53 and she was 21. It lasted about 6 years and produced a child. Long story, but my point is, hardly anybody approved even after we were together for years. It made things difficult for sure. Often people would express rude comments and of course that didn't help anything. Finally we imploded from the weight of it all. Five years westernized in the U S and we divorced...we were 22 years apart in age.... people questioned her harshly about marrying such an older man...im healthy and not over weight but all the questions continuously embarassed her so that was it...she didn't use that for the excuse but it was what it was...if we had lived in the Philippines i have no doubt wed still be together...sad experience❤

I had a friend who tried to make me feel bad about a 20-30+ year age gap between me and a Filipina with whom I was in a relationship. She told me all of her reasons why it was wrong (as though I should care what someone else thinks). It shut her up when I reminded her that my wife was 21 years older than I was. Point being that it shouldn't make a difference what someone else has to say about it. If both parties are adults and ok with it, that's all that matters.

I have lived in the Philippines for a year now. I’m 56 and I don’t belong to any dating apps. I have beautiful Filipinas as young as 18 chasing after me. My wife is 26, i am 39. We met when she was sixteen. I had told her after realizing she had a crush on me at work that NOTHING would ever happen because her age.
Well long story short, she continued to continue to be an amazing young lady, so when she turned 17, I went and spoke to her parents for an hour and asked if I could date their daughter. Most people dont do this anymore, its old fashioned, but thats how I am... so after an hour of talking they agreed to let us group date until they felt comfortable and knew me well enough. Anyways, we fell in love and she has been my wife foe 8 years and we are still nerds and we enjoy our life together. I think the main issue here is that things aren't being compared equally for old vs young men. With maturity and finances being equal with the younger and older guy of course the filipina is going to want to be with the younger guy she can spend more of her life with, raise a family, and age with. Well assuming she wants to be with him as long as possible and not what he leaves behind.

Alright, I haven't been commenting, but this deserves it. I'm not straight, I'm gay. My Filipino, who is several decades younger than I am, pursued me for 5 years. I fell in love with him quickly and he with me, but I initially refused to date him when he asked after a few months, because I didn't want to be seen as taking advantage of him (that's called being brainwashed) . He waited a year and asked again. I agreed, and after a very long process, including my spending 6 months in the Philippines with him after retiring years earlier than I had intended so I could do that, he entered earlier this year on a Fiancé visa, and we married . We are now involved in his change of status process on the way to him being a citizen. We could not be happier. There was NEVER a period of time when he could not have found someone my age and MUCH wealthier. Not that I am poor, I (now we) own several units of housing, I hold a doctorate in a relevant STEM field, and I had a full career, even if I cut it 5 years shorter than I probably would have, it left me with a very healthy monthly retirement check - BUT, he is gorgeous, sings like an angel and is physically perfect. He could have gotten a millionaire, if that was what he wanted. He didn't. He wanted me. I am the only man he has ever slept with, the only one he wants to be with and his actions have proved it. Further, he did not "need" me. He is from a good family with a successful farm (even by our standards here) and businesses. In his extended family are politicians who have made good (I'm not going to say which party list), and a very powerful jurist. He went to an excellent private university. He needed nothing I had and could easily have gotten a richer man - but here we are. WE talk about everything, we love each other like crazy, and he is the most... um... personally vigorous and active man I could ever imagine, much of the time several times a day. Interestingly, we are not really bothered by jealous people or angry people here, but I was prepared for us to be. My love always wanted nothing to do with his age mates on an intimate level, and always wanted a much older man. Two of his sisters are the same, and both married just about the same age gap as he and I. They are all wonderful people. It is not finances. Maturity maybe, but not finances.

As far as a larger age gap being “immoral”, the only time it’s actually immoral is if either the man or the woman is underage. I might not prefer an age gap of say 20 years or more, but if both people are consenting adults, who am I to say otherwise?
Generally speaking, it is possible a younger woman being with an older man means she’s only with him for his money; trouble with that argument is it’ll happen regardless of age, and it differs from culture to culture.
A more practical issue with larger age gaps is a lack of common interests, but again this differs between cultures. As far as I’m concerned if both people are happy and faithful to each other, that’s all that matters.
Another practical issue is if either side brings kids into the relationship from a former relationship, for many men dating a single mom is an automatic no-go, at least in the west that is.
It comes down to personal preferences.

I live in the US. My next door neighbor is about 60 and married to a filipina in her mid 20s. At first I thought this was strange. However, I no longer feel this way. She is very kind, and a hard working person who has much to offer in their relationship. With her help and support, they have even started a small business that is rapidly expanding. Also, as their neighbor, I have been exposed to lumpia and pork belly, which is awesome. I'm very happy for my neighbor, and am grateful to have been exposed to Filipino culture.
I have a friend here in the Philippines who has a 45-year age difference with his wife. Together over 11 years, married 2 years now. They seem to be very happy, traveling about 6 months a year. I have been with my wife over 10 years, 7 plus years of marriage, our age difference is about 26 years. First and only marriage for both of us. Many reasons for age gaps, many very happy couples with age gaps. Really, if the couples are happy, that should be the end of questions.

I just arrived back in America from the Philippines this past Sunday. I married my sweet beautiful Filipina. She lives in Caloocan City in the Monumento area. It's a completely different world there and I enjoyed staying there for a month and hated leaving my wife there and be far away from her again. I'm currently working on saving for a plane ticket and visitor visa so we can be together again sooner. I hope to find some remote work so we can be together in the Philippines but may still talk to an immigration lawyer about a spouse visa. I miss her so very much and just can't wait to finally wrap my arms around her again ❤

However she is not in it for the money (does not hurt though). but she really does care for him. The other day He bumped his head and was bleeding. It was not a big deal for him. Took a tissue and dabbed off the blood. Still bleeding but he just dabbed as he went. She however was so worried that he did not do more she was crying. Sobbing and tears.
