I find it fascinating how often you include paths, particularly winding ones in your challenge paintings. It's like a representation of your own artistic journey, searching to discover where you are heading and where this journey will take you, but its still captured in the landscapes that have always been a part of you. It's quite interesting. Perhaps you could consider exploring the theme of searching or journeying in making future paintings, in an attempt to combine your desire to create more conceptual work with your more realistic, aesthetic style. Just a thought on something that stood out to me. ☺

You and every little thing you do are healing to me, really, I'm not saying this because I'm trying to be nice and show thanks to such a sweet artist who I've just known for a couple of months.
Sure, you're not the only artist RUclipsr, but the first time I get to know just one of your videos, I felt like drawing again after a month sinking in depression.
Now that I am in the bad time again. I've looked for some other artist related videos, and RUclips recommended me the miracle I forgot. I feel healed, you made me. It's like seeing the life I want to live and the person I want to be. I'm excited but aching at the same time because I still have my mental disorders and somehow it gets harder for me just to hold the pencil.
But watching your drawing makes me want to believe, to invest in myself again. It's gonna take a little bit more time, but I will try.
oh Lord, Robin, I'm just really thankful to find you here T - T

Pearl, I came upon your comment and I have to said I am sorry you go through harsh times... What a chance, though, that Robin funny and inspiring content helps you a bit to get through it and create. 😀👍 While reading your comment, I couldn’t help thinking about how people say they like the cheerful tone of my videos and how I make painting look easy and achievable, and how they inspire them to create in a more relaxed way, just for the sake of enjoying the process and having fun with it like I do. So, I really don’t want to give the impression that I am here to promote my stuff but, in the case you would like to check it out and it would do some good... 😊 Btw, do you know Jean Haines book « Paint yourself calm » ? The exercises can be really therapeutic I think, her talking is really soothing and encouraging and the book is really really lovely and inspiring, with a lot of close ups of the watercolor effects. I love it! Good luck and happy creating! 😘

Hey Robin, wow, there's quite a difference (to my eyes) between this and your other artathons! It somehow feels quite effortless how you do some of the clouds and mountains in the distance - the aerial perspective just seems to happen by itself - and the lost and found edges! Love your videos and your art, and particularly the way you think about things and express your ideas in words and pictures.

It's so strange getting to know the person behind the art, it makes the paintings take on a whole new dimension. Even though the art you make isnt the style I would usually love (your work is brilliant but my personal taste means I'm usually drawn to crazy abstract figures or more sinister, humorous art) the fact that you've shared so much of yourself, your life, your weaknesses and your strengths gives your pieces a presence and meaning to me, and makes them something I would want in my home. I hope you know what I mean, that was in no way meant to be an insult to your style of art.

  • @admeliora6226

I started watching you back when you really only seemed to do strict photorealistic pieces and im really loving how youve branched out. I youve begun experimenting with colors a lot more and started going away from copying references and instead doing your own landscapes from scratch and i think overall its not any better as far as technical skills, but i think it engages the mind more and is all around just sort of more visually appealing. Regardless of how your art keeps evolving and what you decide to do (since art is a personal thing and you should do what feels right to you) i think i will always enjoy your paintings and seeing you explore your art

  • @pennydellapelle
    @pennydellapelle 6 лет назад

Ok, I love having seen all of this experimental stage because over the past year your creativity has expanded so much along with your ability to use techniques and ideas in a quick painting that make it visually coherent and/or beautiful. You’ve grown so much, and this video really shows it

I absolutely adore the painting at 11:24 on the left. It looks like a rabbit in shape, like a starry night in colour, and has an abstract shape that really means it's whatever you THINK it is. I usually don't like abstract art, but this one piece made me kind of stop and think about it and... yeah. I think I like it now.

Going for a Conceptual Artist path is wonderful Robin! You're so good with landscapes (not only landscapes of course, you are creative in many ways) that you would help conceptualising so many things. You can go for conceptualise movies, videos, games, songs as you said, etc. You got the world to take, I'm very happy for you're decision!

I think #28 is by far the best one, despite them all being impressively good and coherent. As someone interested in art but who knows pretty much nothing about it, watching your videos is always an opportunity to learn. I never understood why Picasso invented cubism because it made no sense to me that he would make this instead of the more realistic pieces he did before. Watching this video, I think I understand a bit better (still not fully, but getting there). I find your art journey fascinating and I hope you find happiness along the way.
Also, my favorite paintings from this video are probably 8 & 28.

I love your videos; goals and challenges are not task lists to be checked off, their purpose is to give you motivation and a direction to channel that motivation into. Not meeting the goal doesn't mean you didn't gain from the effort. Like. Getting a B in class. You didn't get 100 percent but you still learned a lot. I ADORE watching your art improve with every piece you do -it's actually kind of mindboggling watching how much you grow in each video. Plus, I always get a laugh at your "really nothing makes sense for an intro so I'm just going to be kinda weird right now until the voice-over ends" intros

Mixing watercolour, acrylic and pencil is a great idea that I have tried and must do more of. It amazes me how much energy you have and how productive you are! Wow.. This has honestly been on my bucket list for so long.... I’m awful with filling sketchbook, so I’ve started ‘training’ myself by putting a challenge to finish a sketch book in one month, in a fortnight, in a week - but I’ve been so scared to do a day. Seeing you attempt the same has encouraged me so much to do it as well!! Thank you so much Robin xx

Amazing amazing amazing video thank you so much robin!! I haven’t been able to paint lately because I didn’t really know what I wanna do and this video inspired me to start an unusual multi media piece that I’m happy with
