My husband was supposed to have an angiography the Sunday before surgery. I don't know exactly why the surgeon opted not to, the lower risk of an angiography would have been preferred than this end result. My husband had craniotomy to remove a benign tumor of the frontal lobe on 1/21/21. It turns out he had a brain bleed. The communication and updates have not been transparent. Compassion, empathy goes a long way, understanding what the patient is going through and their family. I don't know if he will ever regain any abilities. All brain injuries are different, but I pray he does regain some of his abilities so that he can see his 9 year old son again. I have to make some very difficult decisions because of finances and our son. Thank you for making these videos, there is some hope.

As a future SLP who wants to specialize in acquired neurological disorders, I want to say that your video is so important to everyone. It shows SLPs the impact they have on their clients, it shows people who have experienced similar situations that there is hope and that the process is worth it, and it informs people who have little to no experience with this about the process and the impact that acquired trauma has on someone's life. Keep advocating for yourself!

@@drewnielson6472 Depending on your perspective and potential co-infections surrounding this virus, you may want to look into taking a medical exemption. Face shields are an option, but they distort my vision and I get dizzy. This is why I have a medical exemption. Feel free to DM me on other SM platforms if you'd like my assistance.
