Bro new York doesn't mean just sky scrapers, it means infra, cleanliness, green spaces, economy, classy buildings and planned structures. Mumbai is growing unevenly, sky scrapers were not planned for all individual structures. Stop comparing anyways, let's appreciate our own development
That's the problem, some people cannot visualise or believe the fact Mumbai is headed in that direction and when they see a highly motivated person who wants the best for the city, they try to pull him down and almost talk in a tone of condescension. Only when a ready made structure or landscape is seen, only then average people who underestimated Mumbai will come forward and start singing praises, until then majority will be a part of herd mentality and deny every possibility. This project itself will have so many green spaces and public recreation zones, it's just the beginning of something even bigger and unfortunately some people lack the vision about what it could be and rather keep dwelling on negativity. Also who said that New York was only about sky scrapers? It's certainly not! I have travelled to both parts and I know for a fact that we are in a transition phase or power and economy. Let's not forget the fact that all technologies had originated from India, the west merely tweaked them and modified them to make them look as their own. Therefore I see India way up there in the list, we are improving rapidly and regaining our lost supremacy. The Germans knew it, the British knew it but we lacked self belief and did not trust our own people. This comment section might exhibit many such characters who ridicule India and what's worse is that they are from our own country. We were defeated by our own, not by foreign powers.
