How generous is Johno!, In a time where people are increasingly selfish, he now only donated, but it cost him money and time to get those out. You restored my faith in people mate.
Awesome Johno
Did he donate? The video talked about "the deal", not about any donation.
There is nothing wrong with The People. It is politicians who want to divide to rule. Big government is a cancer for every country.
Doubt it’s a donation. Anything the museum doesn’t need there’s a worldwide market for it. It’s business.
Damn right. Worlds a sadder place without guys like this.
The Australian Armour and Artillery Museum might or has now the world's largest collection of Grant tanks. Thanks to generosity of three generations of Parker family
Whats more important is that they have spares to trade with other museums for the parts they need......
Thank you Parker family.
Based on the amount of tanks they pulled from the hedges in this guys back yard, it’s fair to assume he may have been trying to make his own army forces
I like the one with the tree hat
Imagine in time they will field a running platoon of Grants
Thanks Johnno, you’ve helped preserve Aussie history and the museum at the same time.👍👍🇦🇺
The tanks were a great find but that FAMILY of Johnno's! "Its lucky for us Johnno has an earth-moving business." A true understatement! Amazingly capable people, smiling, helpful, and WITH all kinds of earth-moving equipment. What are the chances?? Your family is great Johnno! You're a legend!
Am I wrong in thinking the family business was started with army surplus equipment? Still wonderful to give it back!
As an ex soldier, if you have large moves like this, call individual army units and suggest they support the museum by doing a training lift. The soldiers love it. It gives lots of good training. And it will probably just cost you a bbq lunch and maybe some beers at the end. Let army recruiting know as they might help negotiate.
I did some stuff like this and it was great.
The only problem with that is that it will take them two weeks to move one thing...still it woiuldnt hurt to have a few strong lads around. Charles
85 Tp, and the descendants of 158 (Tk Tptr) Tp would be all over that like a rash. I carried a Sentinel from the Sydney Railway Workshop back to the Pucka Armour museum in 93... Some of the questions I got over the 2 way would make your head spin...Turned the wireless off so I could concentrate on driving...
Great point!
Incredible generosity from Johnno and his family. Thank you for supporting AusArmour
Thanks Johnno, been driving past the yard for years on the way out to my uncles place glad to see the old grant tanks going off to get restored and preserved, you blokes in the workshop are going to be busy for a while
It still blows my mind that such a stash existed at all in this day and age, not just the Grants but all the rest around it, Stuarts, Universal Carriers, Trucks and Armoured Cars, you’ve got enough there for restoration projects for the next 50 years!! Great video and looking forward to part 3.
You forgot the intact Centurion...
It's always a good day when AusArmour uploads!
These Grants and Grant parts will be enough for an awful lot of Workshop Wednesdays. My congratulations that you could get all those parts. And I hope that you will get the Stuarts some time in the future too. I will probably never make it from my German small town to Cairns in Australia, so I will watch your channel on the biggest screen at my home to get a good feeling of AusArmour.
WOO HOO Part II! I am in Canada, I stayed up late just hoping this would get uploaded so I could watch before sleeping.
Hello from the uk
And I live in Northern California in the Gold Country from the 49er Gold Rush
Thank you Johno & family!
Great to visit, awesome to meet you all, and dear sweet god that's one hell on a contribution to Aussie military history.
You're a legend, as is your old man. Do us all a favour, pour one out for him.
One thing I've learned from watching RUclips is you can only find stuff like this in barns. Never in any other types of structures.
Farmers never throw anything out :)
Or Russian bogs!
@@itsnotagsr ooh my other favourite channel is watching this, what slug is next guys ?
i would find it very odd to find something like this in a kitchen
@@itsnotagsr Or Ex-Soviet state rivers!
Just watched the whole thing WOW what a treasure trove of History. I can see a 4 tank plt of these M3's all set up and painted for the Australian Armored Force from WW2. What a find guys and I am drooling over these last few episodes. Cheers from Oregon USA BTW I am an Old DAT on the M1IP(Army) and a TOW2 gunner(Marines and Army) so anything with tracks and guns is good in my book. Have fun everyone
If you where to tell some one about this find - they would not believe you . Bloody awesome . You will never wipe the smile off Daryl's face !
A true gentleman. Australia must be extremely proud of Johno. Heck, I'm not even Australian and I salute the man. I hope the restored vehicles bear his name with pride. Along with the skilled workers who bring these vehicles back from extinction, it is vital work to ensure that future generations do not forget the sacrifices made. Wars are not to be revered. Remembering those who served is essential. Cheers guys.
Johno's father was a very wise old man keeping all these old tanks & parts. He has been a sure blessing to the nation.
Holy Mackerel! I didn't think you could top last weeks ep, then you just blow it out of the water a week later! Great to see Johnno thin out his Dad's collection. Hopefully that will give him the space to work on the Stuart light tanks he's more focussed on 🤣👍👍
60+ years ago, I remember old tanks all across the Wimmera, particularly a yard full of bits just outside Murrayville. I often wondered what became of them; perhaps some of these are the ones I remember from my youth. Good to see them going to a museum !
Not only is this channel the gold standard for restoration videos, but this content, this find, is pure gold.
To Johnno, your boys and neighbours….heartfelt thanks for preserving this kit and then gathering and loading it.
You guys deserve to have a drive of all the gear in Cairns. Airfares and accommodation on us.
That went too quick . Thanks very much Johnno and all the Lads with the extraction and contribution to Aussie Armoured History . Everytime I see a Bren Gun Carrier i think My Grandfather could of been the Blacksmith making it at the Woodville Holden Plant ( now a Bunnings) . He wasnt allowed to go to war as the Country needed his Blacksmith skills
Daz must have been over the moon at the sheer quality and quantity of rare spares… and that all three were rollers after all time, amazing!😊
He was truly a "kid in a candy shop" walking that property!
Congrats on 100k subs, well deserved
...a couple of us from Canada are really enjoying this channel. So wonderful to see the history brought to life and hoping to see the million mark reached. (great production and editing!)
Not only did Alladin have the treasure, he also had the equipment to get it out.
Fantastic family!
A huge thanks to jonno and his family for preserving these historic vehicles! I certainly hope jonno and the boys are invited up for a drive when you get them restored!!
Please do a restoration of a tank where the weathering on the outside, as well as the original paint remains untouched. It's so extremely rare to see war time pigment still on these tanks. And adds a very strong impression to the tank itself.
Thanks guys for this, as an ex-AFV crewman and now run a workshop looking after steam locomotives I really appreciate the amount of work you put it. The videos really do convey the ups and downs in this sort of work without the hype that some tv shows like to over do and it’s very much appreciated. Thanks once again.
Amazing, such Generousity by Johno and his family, would be a great idea for a display of these tanks when restored to be named after Johno's father
What are the odds this amour / gear exists in 2023! What a find!
PS - The father’s obsession was really wonderful
These last two videos have been fantastic! What an awesome treasure trove!
Thanks for taking us along and thank you to Jono and crew.
Thank you Johnno and your family and crew. Allowing a portion of the collection to go to the museum for restoration resources is an incredible gift to our future generations. Hats off to you Sir! From Oregon USA
This has to be the best channel on RUclips.
Astonishing...the feel good factor is so high on this episode...couldn't stop smiling
What an amazing stash of history. I wake up early every Wednesday to see the latest Workshop video here in the US.
Thank you for preserving history.
Awesome, what a find!🇦🇺👍 ! Thanks to Jonno, its all going to a good home to be restored and be a part of our history!
I got excited just watching them smiling from ear to ear... Well done Parker family.
What a super find and a generous host! That lot reminds me of my grandpa's "junk" collection outside of his workshop on the ranch. As a kid, it was a treasure for making up "forts" and hiding from chores in old (and I do mean OLD) farm equipment dating back to the very early 1900's (Model T's, A's, all kinds of haying stuff). Can't believe a rattler didn't use us for target practice. Thanks for dredging up fond memories from a 79 year old brain!
I've been watching for months now i love the episodes. All the way from California you guys are great.
Great video interesting enough it could have been longer. Thanks Johnno and crew for their work and support also thanks to Kurt for giving us videos without unnecessary drama
I agree wholeheartedly 25 minutes would have been even better.!
What a fantastic find , a Big thank you to Johno and crew from us viewers who sat is awe watching pieces that will bring history to life , well done from Tasmania
Thank you to the Parker family, for your generosity to the museum. May God bless you abundantly.
"We'll have our own armoured division" haha, you're certainly getting there! Loving this series of recovery videos
Anyone else craving longer vids after seeing these relics in such great condition? Id love a vid of Daz looking at all the stuff on these tanks and having a kid on christmas day grin the whole time.
I can't wait to see the faces of everyone else at the Museum & workshop when this lot rolls in.
That’s some pretty realistic camouflage applied to these tanks!
You just wait for a bit and nature will take care of the camouflage for you :)
Unbelievable the amount of items coming to your museum. Plenty of work for the restoration team. What a family to help out the museum and preserve history. Looking forward to much new content it will never get old.
great video, good on Johno and good effort to all for getting all the gear out. incredible to see that grant still being able to roll on its tracks.
DAZ, like a kid in a sweet shop!!!!!
Just when you think it can’t get better, it does.
Utterly utterly amazing.
Well done for all involved.. It’d be hard, sentimentally to see your father’s collections go, but in the long run they’ll be restored to how your father would appreciate
What a great part of Australian History, I can't wait to see the Journey of these tanks being restored.
Good luck guys.
What a great heart you have Johno, to donate so much uniquely Australian WW2 history, I can only hope Oz Armour will do you your family your father and the whole nation proud by restoring these beautiful Grant tanks to their original and different specs.
Oh man...like finding a treasure chest crammed with gold coins and jewels. I hope there's several more episodes of this series.
God Bless Australia and those "weirdos" who see more in these than just scrap. You Guys are awsome! Not many occasions left where grown men become kids in candy stores again, Thanks for sharing!
Man, the little boy in me was smiling from ear to ear with watching this - great to see that in 2023 the Aussie spirit still lives on!
MY JAW JUST HIT THE FLOOR WHEN THE GRANT WAS PULLED OUT WOWZA
Incredible. You’ll have them restored by next week !!
Kirk, I agree with your mission of showing what happens without any added drama. Doing the work well is challenging enough to make very interesting.
It's so amazing that all this military equipment was turned into farming equipment when the war was over. Excellent recycling but harvest time must have looked like the battle of Kursk.
wow! thats really exciting seeing all those tanks and parts that are now going to "live" on again. its easy to get a vicarious thrill from dazs excitement! cant wait to see them all running again!!!
Such a brilliant show. These weekly episodes are just the best 😊
There are still many good people in this world. Hats off to Johno and family!
It is great to see all those parts together enough to restore and trade with parts of Grants! I would go ape being there!!! Keep going on 👍👍👍
"Next time" can't come soon enough! I could have happily watched a video twice this length.
It's mind boggling that such an incredible collection of rare vehicles has been hidden away for all these years. It really makes you wonder what else is out there tucked away in barns and sheds across the world!
What an incredible find. A virtual gold mine. Thanks to all involved. Preserving history.
Shout out from the motherland to you mates down under. Love the Vids. Keep going.
Another reason to visit Australia! Even in their current condition these tanks are beautiful. Cheers!
Fantastic can-do attitude on display. A decade ago I spent two years trying to have a Great War German howitzer dug up and restored in Britain to mark the centenary. It's the only one of its kind in the country and one of only 12 in existence. When it came to support or assistance I was turned down by all the major military museums, the Army, the local council, local history groups, local businesses - in fact by everyone but the nearest Royal Naval Reserve unit. In the end I had to give up and it's still lying buried where it has been since the 1920s. I wish we had people like the Oz Armour Team and Jono over here.
Where's that howitzer now?
Fair play to Jonno for donating all this armour to your museum. Can't wait to see all these bad boys stripped down and put back into working order. Well done guys, great content for the future. 👌👍
Cool, I've been hanging out for this episode, can't wait for the final one and the transportation. What a find!
Another brilliant workshop Wednesday. Thanks for sharing this with us. Regards,
WOW, what a find, increadible!!!👍👍👍
your dad knew wat to hold on to and wat to get.
a real genuine custodian..

your dad made it easyer for the next generation...
loving it...

Everybody needs a mate like Johnno. What a mint guy.
As a former tanker it is so awesome to see these men donating time and equipment too preserve history. Great work you all!!
Christmas came in early this year! Good deeds are rewarded! Happy tankmas to you all! 🇸🇪
Guys it doesn't matter how far along you are with the current resto just fit the proper power pack !!! love from Scotland.
If you ever see the guy using the chain-saw again remind him that everyone is born
right handed but some of us overcome it. Great video, as always.😎
Wow, Wow, Wow.
I am so happy for you guys.
Thank you so much for keeping history alive.
I am in Baltime, Maryland, and will probably never be able to come for a visit, but I'm am happy just to see these video's Again thank you.
Wow, Johno's dad is a real hero rescuing all this stuff. Great vid as usual, can't wait for the next installment
Way to go Johnno! Unbelievable what his Dad managed to save, huzzah!
I love these videos. Great to see so much stuff still survived and also amazed by the fact that everything is preserved so well! Keep up the great work, always a pleasure to watch!
Pure wonderful Love to have been there as well
The 17 pounder and twin diesel mentioned for later projects really make me think of either a Firefly or Achilles which both used both the gun and engine. Great work with these finds and keep at it with the amazing videos!
Daryl's enthusiasm is wonderful. Not sure of his age, but I think he just turned the clock back 10-15 years. He won't sleep for a week! Thanks for the videos......On to Part III!
Great video, all the stuff you've managed to find, what a treasure trove, amazing collection, although pity you didn't have all that before you started your Grant restoration.
i wonder how many other stashes are sitting around Australia that nobody knows about. Somebody should send this extraordinary find to the media as a feel good story to see if anything else can be shaken out of the bush.
Damm that's an amazing family ,Jono hats off to you guy's. From 1 grant to four is an awesome op for the museam
Actually the museum had I think one or two more stashed out on wrench near the city.?
Absolutely love this content. Thank you for taking us as long for the ride.
What an awesome episode. The history that family has preserved for future generations to see and learn from. You could see the pure joy on Dazes face every time something was uncovered. Can't wait to see more.
That must feel great to find all that steel!!! Great job guys.😅
Can't wait to see those restored :)
Dear members of the TAA&AM.
👍👌👏 Oh WOW, simply fantastic! Another day in metal heaven aka Grand Tank paradise. 😁 ;-)
After finding all the original instruments/gauges, someone was grinning from ear to ear. In fact he did so during the complete video. 2) I have a lot of sympathy for Johno, he is a really great guy.
Of course I'm eagerly looking forward to watch the next video. I'm happy to see that there will be more parts coming.
Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and especially health to all involved people.
Seeing the 75mm gun with the counterweight was just fascinating. Hats off to the Parker family for the collection. Lastly, seeing Daz and the crew that happy made me grin like a possum passing a peach pit. Thumbs up from this Texan!
Wow. Just wow. What a great donation, fantastic video and great crew. Thank you all, looking forward to the next.
Кааайф! Просто сокровищница!!! Класс, если музей это всё купит и восстановит. Экспонаты просто шикарные!!!
My god, I'd have loved to grow up in such an area. That looks amazing.
Great find!
What an absolute goldmine of a find in parts especially the NOS parts still in grease wrap.
That'll keep you all going for some time
A bit of banter and Aussies can get anything done.
What a set of finds, what a smashing bloke Jonno Parker is and well done his late father for getting it all together when he could.
You must have decades worth of restoration work with all those parts 😊👍
