So when I tried Sekiro a couple years ago, I quickly saw how bad I was and I dropped it. Flashforward to a month ago, I wanted to calm my hype for Elden Ring DLC with something similar, so I reinstaled Sekiro. I was still bad at the game, but I was determined to go as far as I could. I reached Lady Butterfly and died like 10 times. And then... something clicked. I started to see the attacks like in a rythm game, and I simply got gud with the parrys. The moment I killed Genichiro in only 2 tries was when I realized that I was prepared to beat anything the game could throw at me. So anyways, now Sekiro is in my top 3 souls games of all time. A masterpiece. The moment I beat the Elden Ring DLC I will go back to Sekiro to get all the achivements.

Here it is. A lot of people predicted this when Fauna and Gura did their Dark Souls race. Gura and Fauna will eventually become souls enjoyers. That initial struggle on their first time playing is the right amount of frustration, enough to want to go back and win the goddamn videogame. It happened to to all of us.

@@zubleo8590 Its such a crime Bloodborne is trapped on Playstation. That game unlocked the whole series for me, the dodgy aggression that Bloodborne naturally wants from you made me go back to DS1 with a less defensive mindset and actually finish it after dropping it years before. And on top of that its just the coolest, most visually interesting world in the series imo.

The most impressive thing to me isn't that she managed to get past Gargoyles in a single stream (even though that is pretty impressive), but that she managed to take out the Titanite Demon. I still struggle with those guys lol
My head canon is that those things learn your moves, every time I have to fight one of those it feels tougher than the last, even across playthroughs... yet my first one was so easy I was surprised it was an (almost) irrespawnable elite enemy

Fauna dying multiple times to the basic enemy flail attack will always be hilarious 😂 EVERYONE underestimates the basic trash mob's threat level until they bust out the flailing multi-slash. Apparently, that attack is the deadliest one in all Dark Souls games, according to fan research based on player data statistics.
Especially that flail attack on torch hollows. You turn your back on a torch hollow just because it's a torch hollow, and you're gonna regret it. That one outside the Depths bonfire will make sure you pay attention to him every time you leave the bonfire room.
Based on last time. I think Fauna wants to be the flippy high stamina dex player. At which case, I encourage her to go parry build instead of dodge. But thats the thing with souls. You can plan. But the relevant weapon you want might be all the way in Lordran or something and before then you're just suffering.
I swear, Fromsoft's character creation thing is their hardest boss, you fail once its all fucking over, you cant even undo it, cause fixing your character's face could just possible make it worse
She seemed fine with the help during stream, but yeah, some of the suggestions were questionable. She did say eventually she would want no backseating though.
I was cringing throughout the "try this weapon, no this weapon! buy the rapier! kill the merchant for the uchigatana!" arc where she was struggling to adapt to multiple new weapon movesets, but it worked out in the end once she got used to the uchi and started upgrading it-- that moment when you oneshot a basic enemy with a 2HR1 I think is one of the biggest "clicking" moments of "getting" the joy of Souls And tbh I really hope she does a little bit of research about what the different stats do because chat will be useless for actually communicating any nuance there lmao But all in all despite how apprehensive I was going in that she wouldn't be able to get into it, based kirin proved once again that she "gets it", both how to enjoy a tough, complex game and also how to engage with a backseat-y chat. She's one of the best I've seen in that regard, honestly
