    1:29 Was Mbappe's time at PSG a failure?
    5:53 Will Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe work well?
    Borussia Dortmund just beat PSG again 1 - 0 in the second leg of the Champions League semifinal and are now advancing to the Champions League final. This very likely could be Kylian Mbappe's last Champions League match in a PSG shirt. Looking back at his seven years with the club, will his time be considered a failure?

      It's the unfortunate truth. It's still crazy how Mbappe can be considered a goat despite it tho. The WC at 18 and final at 22/23 can change a lot. He's also on set to be the highest goal scorer in the WC's history. I actually think he's worthy a goat conversation by the end of his career, but these PSG years were rough

    It's just laugable because PSG spent 180 million on Mbappe + a lot of money with his contract and they still couldn't win the CL. Is he a failure? I don't think so, I just believe that PSG didn't spend the money wisely; they should've built a team from scratch and not invest in superstars

    Yes, if Messi’s two years at PSG considered a failure then splashing 180m euros on Mbappe, and not winning a UCL with them should be as well

    Addressing the point of Mbappe is going to suffer in Madrid because Vini plays on the left , Mbappe plays under Luis Enrique which a positional coach from the school of Catalonia and Netherlands same as Guardiola , Arteta etc , those coaches will limit his movement on the pitch to an area to respect the position they allowed him , with Carlo's relational philosophy which does not adhere to positions , Mbappe will be able to express himself fully because of Carlo's philosophy and we already see it when Rodrygo plays with Vini on the Left , even Benzema did it when he dropped deep so under Carlo this will not be an issue , Carlo builds his team by factoring in his players tendencies and talent and build the squad from bottom up ( from the players to the team ) not like most contemporary coaches that build there teams from the top down ( from the system down to the players ) .

    He underperformed at least when it comes to UCL he has moments of brilliance but moments of weakness when it comes to how teams play against him. Overall he has a good PSG career in comparison to PSG legends before him.

    Hard to say. You can look at it as him being regarded as one of the best players in the world despite only playing for psg his entire career. However at the same time i wouldn’t consider Neymar, or zlatan to have been failures for the club either. If Messi had stayed I’m actually certain they’d have reached the ucl final this year with their matchups, imo their main problem this year was finishing, so I wouldn’t even call Messi a failure, he just didn’t give the club enough time.

    I think your analysis is off. Madrids formation is very fluent, so him and Vini are going to switch position during a match, just like Vini and rodrygo does now i ucl matches.

    Your opinion on Mbappe failing at PSG you’re not wrong on that regard. When you’re a superstar playing for PSG it’s very difficult because people don’t care about how well you play domestically they’re guaranteed to win Ligue every year. At PSG your legacy is defined off of the champions league and if you win it. Imagine if Mbappe converted that chance against Bayern Munich in 2020, would PSG have won the Champions League by now and maybe we’d be viewing him as unanimously the best player in the world. Maybe.

    All the star players who have played in PSG have been failures only by PSG's standards. They are all too accustomed to winning League 1, so what's new, extraordinary and the real deal is winning the UCL; once you can't give them that, you're a failure. But in the actual, football and logical sense, Mbappe has been a success at PSG. I think he only failed himself by not leaving a long time ago. PSG is not too different from FC Barcelona (except they're stinking rich and Barca is cash-strapped). It's only a problem of management. That's why even a world-class manager (which you stated in one of your videos on FC Barcelona as a prerequisite for success) in Luis Henrique still hasn't won the UCL at PSG.

  • @tobaepebinuade5830
    @tobaepebinuade5830 Месяц назад

    I wouldn’t say that Kylian Mbappe failed at PSG. Nobody is denying his talent, he’s a phenomenal player and his ability isn’t in question, but the problem that is that playing for PSG isn’t just about how well you play domestically as you win Ligue 1 every year, you’re only judged of the champions league and whether or not you win it. In some sense yes Mbappe has to take some responsibility for some of PSG’s shortcomings in Europe as there’s been some big games where he’s not delivered when it matters the most and that’s what you’re superstar has to do, but you can’t solely blame Mbappe for him not winning a champions league title at the age of 25. As we saw with Neymar, playing for PSG is such a difficult thing because your legacy is only defined by whether you win the champions league or not since nobody cares about winning Ligue 1. Technically he’s in his prime, putting him in the same category as Messi and Ronaldo is disrespectful saying that Messi won 4 Ballon Dors at 25, Mbappe hasn’t won a single one or a champions league to his name. People are pushing an agenda that he’s overrated can’t be the best player in the world ghosts in big games wasting his career in a farmers league never win the Ballon Dor etc, and he needs Madrid more than Madrid needs him.
    PSG over the years have had a lot of talent on paper, but anyone with ball knowledge knows that they never had a squad that was capable of winning the champions league. Yes you had Messi Neymar and Mbappe on the same team along with other superstars, they were just great players nothing else, that was never a champions league winning squad and while individuals are important, you need a strong enough team around these superstars. Even had they beaten Borussia Dortmund yesterday, nobody gave them a realistic chance to win the UCL. Mbappe is the only world class player in this team, he’s had to play alongside an average defense midfield and even a goalkeeper who’s always a shot away from making a mistake. Without knowing context you’re criticizing him for not winning the UCL when he’s been on a weak team for many years. He has to stand out, how do you expect guys like Mbappe and Neymar to carry a team to champions league greatness. No player single handedly can carry a team to the champions league, guys like Messi and Ronaldo people will say that Ronaldo carried Real Madrid, Messi carried Barcelona and while they were the best players on their respective teams, they would’ve have those champions leagues solely off of individual brilliance because they played on teams that complemented them very well. Even though he’s 25 years old, it’s not the end of the world if he hasn’t won the champions league, he has plenty of time to do so in the future. Let’s not act like he’s not a World Cup winner and many footballing greats have never won the Champions League. Besides he’s going to Real Madrid in the summer and while you’re guaranteed to win UCL titles, winning the Champions League consistently is part of cementing greatness and being among the footballing greats even if they do it consistently. Hopefully he doesn’t bring his European curse to Madrid and while some people believe that he’ll disrupt the harmony of their dressing room, he hasn’t even kicked a ball for Real Madrid and we don’t even know what things will look like until he joins their club. He’s going to win the UCL in the post Messi and Ronaldo era he’ll win a Ballon Dor whether it’s this year since remember that France are favorites to win the EUROs and he’ll play on a team with a strong supporting cast and that’s what he needs.
