- Bertram looks after his Aunt Agatha's dog while she is away for several weeks taking the cure. All is well and the deed almost completed when young Bobbie Wickham pops up and invites herself to lunch.
The story was published in The Strand Magazine as "Jeeves and the Dog McIntosh" in the United Kingdom in October 1929, and in Cosmopolitan as "The Borrowed Dog" in the United States that same month. The story was also included as the fifth story in the 1930 collection Very Good, Jeeves. Развлечения
Some people do not recognise pure genius. They need not feel compelled to tune in. Thank you nick for the time you give to present us with these wonderful stories. I much appreciate your time and expertise 😉👌🏾
And who is this "pure genius"?
The genius in capturing, absolutely,
the characters within the srory, and more so, the imagination of the listener. Velvet, absolute velvet!😂
You do such a wonderful job presenting these stories! So entertaining!😊
Bravo, sir! Bravo! Clap, clap, clapping from the desert Southwest 👏👏👏
My absolute favorite. Until the next one❤
I am pleased to say that dogs feature once again in another tale from Carry on Jeeves!
Wonderful!! Thank you 😊
Audio perfect.
wonderful 😊 thank you
Listening to one a day and loving them. Fantastic.
Another cracking performance Lord M! Roly Poly pudding for all, Cheers my friend, julie
Thank you Julie! Quite, nothing wrong with the old RP Pud!
Verbal genious!
Love your readings
Thank you!
I love your voice. Thank you from south africa
Believe you should think about giving us the first chapter of "Three Men in a Boat" in part for the pleasure of hearing you describe Montmorency.
I will definitely look into it. Thanks
This is my first experience in any way of Jeeves and Wooster. And of PG Wodehouse in general. I like it.
Great! You have a lot to catch up then - don't worry about the order as it doesn't seem to matter much.
I strongly recommend that you listen to those by the same narrator "Trickynicky Marts" - they are the best on RUclips. Also, check out the video plays of these same stories here on RUclips with Stephen Fry and HughLaurie - do a search for _Jeeves and Wooster_ . They perfectly capture and are the very embodiment of Wodehouse's characters.
You are a master!
Not sure about that - but thanks Christa!
Nick Martin brings the story to life.. excellent.
Another splendid reading. Very enjoyable in a laugh out loud way. Thank you 🙏.

Most indubitably , my dear boy .........Your Wodehouse stories never fail to give such a wonderful amount of joy and laughter in an otherwise rather dismal existence. What a glorious gift you have , pray continue in your path of granting happiness to others 🙏🏼 blessings to you 🌿🕊❤️
Marvelous. Simply marvelous 🌺
Thanks for this. I always look forward to your readings.
That's great - and they are still coming! Thank you
These stories really lift my spirits + you do them justice. An Ossie fan👇💜🙃
Thank you. You are rattling through them at quite a pace!
Brilliant reading ❤
Another sterling performance.
Thank you Gina, glad you liked it
bravo!
Thank you
Another wonderful reading, Mr. Martin!
I adored Wodehouse as a child and eagerly awaited new books coming into the local library. My mother tried to forbid the reading of them as she wrongly thought of him as a traitor .~I remember being most indignant as they adored Chaplin whereas I always considered Spode as a far more effective anti-Hitlerite character-and thé intervening seventy years have not changed my mind He did not just take a swipe at an obvious deluded lunatic leader-we all have those! He ridiculed the followers .
McIntosh 💙😍
Martin 💙🤩
Most enjoyable, thank you very much, liked and subscribed.
That's great, thank you.

What about the extra terrier in Jeeve’s room?
Very faint. I checked it on my Tablet, too. However another reading of the same tale by someone else was LOUD even on my tablet. ..
Yes, that one is a bit quiet.
❤️Delightful- tysm 📖📚
That's great thanks
Volume of audio is not adequate even with earphones.
Hello Nick! Thanks for another stellar reading. Hope all is well with you and hope you will favor us with another Jeeves and Wooster story soon. Cheers from the USA.
Hi Neil, thanks for that. Yes hopefully another will be winging it's way over end of next week but, you know, work gets in the way. Cheers.
@@Trickynickymarts work? What do you do for a living if not this? You must be an actor or something.
@@claires9100 No, not an actor or anything close. More in the making and fixing kind of line.
@@Trickynickymarts Fixing? Do you do film editing? I mean you have such a talent for performance and timing. I can't imagine you don't use that voice for your main job. But if this reading is just a hobby of yours, you are indeed talented and generous to share this gift with the rest of us. Also, myself, I had never heard these stories before, so you have exposed me to great and fun literature.
No, just a bit of fun and very glad that you enjoy them. Thank you for listening and stay tuned for more!
Great idea, You and J.K.JEROME.. marriage made in heaven...🙏🏼🌙
Ha! I will have to investigate. The problem is I am only fit for doing short stories.
@@Trickynickymarts Nonsense! You're perfectly fit for more than short stories! 😉 I'm thoroughly enjoying these and listened to 3 or 4 in a row yesterday evening! Great entertainment!
Yay TrickyNicky strikes again!
Yes, I fear so! And there will be more.
How do you do what you do, Sir ??? A man imitating a woman’s voice is always funny. . .
but your imitation is serious😊🫶🏻🤜🤛👍
Meaning what? Get your finger out and explain yourself
@@Tinker1950
IMO he does femaile pitch ( older-younger) quite well, inflection between sentences
is good, giving the fleshing out of a female. Is she passive, passionate, assertive, passive-aggressive ??? Thank You❣️
@@gaylereid8264 The word is 'female'.
Wth is roly poly pudding?
Please do not just give this remark a thumbs up, but really tell me what IS roly poly pudding? M.
M. Illinois. 🇺🇸 USA
Ah, clearly something from the sweet menu that didn't make the Atlantic! Its suet sponge rolled out flat and then smothered in jam or the like and rolled up like a newspaper before cooking. A dish from the past for most but excellent still non the less. Best with custard and after a hard days work.
It is a suet based desert rolled up with jam in the middle....best served hot with custard.
thanks again! a real sweet roly poly pudding!
Something for them ? April 1st
A missed opportunity - next year!
Way to soft voiced. Impossible to hear.
Oh dear - any chance it could be your player?
@@Trickynickymarts I find the same unfortunately and you are usually much louder on my chromebook.
Try turning up the volume
I almost commented on this comment but then thought, nah. Someone else can say CLEAN YOUR EARS OUT 😂
If McIntosh is an Aberdeen terrier then why is the drawing a Scottish terrior?
The Scottish Terrier was originally known as the Aberdeen Terrier now more popularly known as a Scottie. They are one and the same according to Wikipedia.
They are the same ❤
Please consider enhancing the volume of the upload.
Sorry about that!
♥️
Thank you!
