Thanks Grant. Yes I hear multiple names for these trucks. Courier is one, I think Drifter has been used somewhere as well. They also have this engine in the Bongo.
Hi I have a Ford Everest with a same type of Fuel pump and filter set up but TDCI. I replaced the fuel filter the other day. it runs much better than before but It takes time to start especially during cold start. I believe there is still air in the system. What can I do to solve this?
Once you've primed it and started the engine that should get all air out of the system. I'd check the fuel lines running to and from the filter as these are prone to corrosion and can let air in when the vehicle is sat for a while. Only other thing I can suggest is check your glow plugs?
First time I changed one I did the same. They don't go super firm, just a little more firm than when there's air in. Tough to tell sometimes. If you've been at it ages I'd just try cranking see if it fires.
I think I mucked up. After changing filter, got called away, came back snd started it. It ran until fuel in line burnt off.. forgot to bleed the damn thing before starting it... now what?
Bollock the guy who distracted you 🤣 Keep pumping the bulb until it pulls fuel through. Then try start it. If it splutters and dies repeat the process.
Clear and concise. Looks simple enough so I'll give it a go just in case a dirty filter or water is causing my limp mode.
Thanks Glyn. Good luck hope it solves your issue 🤞🏻
Thanks, It was good to find a video specific to my vehicle, although in NZ it's called a Courier.

@@FastRust we took the engine cover out and noticed there was a minor leakage on one of the injectors
we are having it leak tested for now
thanks
Cheers mate gave me confidence to give it a crack
Glad to hear it. That's what they're there for 👍
Thanks for the video. Should the drain plug be tight enough such that nothing leaks when I pump the button?
Mine is leaking when it comes to a point the button is firm.
Should be no leaks while priming except from the bleed valve (if you have one)
Hi, I've been hand pumping the filter for some time now and it hasn't gone firm. Any reason why?
