Naum Grubert is like an actor who makes his lines in the script come alive. He makes every note in this music say something with a brilliantly focused technique. This is indeed a very masterful and imaginative performance. Bravo!!!

Thank you! I'm glad to hear the posthumous variations, though I can't decide whether I like this order or not. In Variation III, I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone decrescendo into Variation IV like this, interesting! Lots of great playing here but I think I've been spoiled on the Variations by Beatrice Rana's performance during the 2013 Cliburn :-) . Nice to hear this Fantasy again, it's been a long time...my teacher assigned it to me in college, and after I came to my lesson week after week without making any progress on it, he said okay never mind and decided to work on it himself. After a few weeks he came to me and said "I get it now - it may be a nice piece to listen to, but there's absolutely no reward in playing it!" So bravo to anyone who sticks it out.
