That is a really smart person who made this board. That is someone I want to talk with and see if he can duplicate the KDM-7 keypad for the Kenwood radios. I bet he could make that pretty easy. This board has a lot of engineering.
As always, nice work!❤ We install a resistor in series with the speakers in between 20-50 ohm and it lowers the total sound volume but eliminated the hum almost completely. "Sounds" crazy but it works. But PinSound is a very good option and upgrade👍
I'm amazed that there are upgrades for classic pinball machines. So cool for owner. More Capacit-taters🥔🥔🥔 for maximum 🔊! The new board eliminated the problem and added stereo sound. *Nice work Ronnie!*
Great game, You made the right call on the sounds... an upgrade but not a puutin leds in an EM "upgrade" ;) . I hit the thumbs up 5 times since I forgot on the last video. I am off to see what your brother is up to on that trailer. Have a great weekend!
Had to pop back to say... 😂😂😂😂 Best Donnie video opening yet 😂😂😂😂 (Sanfordand son) Allright gonna see what miracle he works with that pile of kindling with the door on it
I'm new to your channel. I'm amazed at the quality of re-fits and replacement boards available for pinball and video games. That Pinsound board is a definite upgrade to the previous sound board
Thanks for filming these for us Ron! :D Excellent quality sound, great it supports the original or the upgraded tracks (adding some kind of switch to toggle in on the machine would be great). For me though, when I want to hear movie soundtracks, I'd also want to watch the movie. I want the amazing and awesome original pinball music tracks (which are, IMO soo much better suited to gameplay). The new sounds are well done, but, they are "good" like the movie is good (not like an awesome pinball game).
Considering you can update the sound at will if you want to, and switch between the original and community sound pack, I think this could be a great investment for the collectors! Also I think the low volume is due to a safety measure to prevent damages to the speakers just in case any other amplifiers were connected? I love the little jingle it makes when it can't find the USB drive or when it's updating.
@@LyonsArcade also NO ORIGINAL SOUND boooo x_x thats rubbish imo if it was my game i would want the I HATE I HATE I HATE PETER PAN and the original MIDI stuff. if someone else makes a soundboard i hope its actually a clone of the BSMT2000, this thing is a joke x_x still you did a good job putting it in thanks for the video
@@summerlaverdureYou can always go in and put the original sound clips on the new board. Personally I like the Movie clips, but I can see wanting to keep it all original as well.
JOE CLASSIC, Measure the AC Voltage on the 12vdc power lines to the audio board, comparing the original sound board to the new sound board to know the differences. Its not a grounding issue because the new sound board is using the same grounding but it less noisy and no hum.
i have owned my HOOK since 1997 and i am so used to the original sounds and when they are triggered ... the new sounds seem off to me not that they are bad just not timed right or the wrong sound when something was triggered IMO good video though
It would be great if one could easily swap between sound packs. The original tunes on this are also amazing. I probably like the original more. Oh and it is pretty common that if power supply is replaced, it will induce more humm onto audios. I have DE Simpsons and it humms slightly. But nothing as bad as in this video. Power supply was broken when I received it, but only from 110V side. Decided to fix it and not swap the whole board.
There was a rather abrupt cut near the end there. Me thinks there was a copyright issue with using the actual score from the film and putting it on RUclips. Am I right?
Thats a great sound board upgrade and I can see how a fan of the Hook movie would want the movie soundtrack. I know I wish Stern had put the movie soundtrack on the Stern Star Trek LE which someone did, and I added it to my game. With that said, I am not a big Hook movie fan, but the DE pinball game is a classic. Changing the sounds to the movie sounds just loses some of the DE charm that their games of that era have. Many of the original sounds are also on the DE Star Trek 25th Anniversary pinball. I still wish someone could come up with a real fix for the buzz in the original sound boards. I wonder if the sound boards had the buzz when they were new? or did it develop with age?
Pinsound board may sound better than the old one, but it's new sound set replaced all the very good musics and sound samples to a custom one, and it sounds like a star wars movie to me...they could have re-record it from the pinmame in the sound command mode, and allow it to play in a higher quality device....i don't want it to any of my liked machines...
Ground loops are a big problem in machines built like this. The loop becomes a transformer winding that picks up an oscillating magnetic field. Now your ground path has assorted noise on it most of it is 60hz hum. They never considered the concept of a single point ground in the design.
This one has other things going on, even if you try to fix the ground loop you still have hum, it's just a noisy designed board. Notice for instance a brand new board fixes the hum, using the same ground wiring....
Nice fix! I have a question. Are some of the speech samples on this song possibly from an arcade game? ruclips.net/video/jz5H-jyKfcE/видео.html The project had a 1988 song "Dragon's Legend" that sampled Dragon's Lair.
Absolutely brilliant, love these videos. Frenchmen worldwide marvelling at the South Carolina version of their language.
Has to be my number one favorite machine.
I'm still kicking myself for buying one offered to me for $700
That was great. Sounds good now. No buzz. 👍🔧🔧
No crackle, no hum….The customer is gonna love his new quiet pinball machine. Great work with a great board.

Man, it sounds AWESOME with the film soundtrack!

what an upgrade! Now I know why the customer wanted it so badly. Wow... it's a huge change for the better!
Dustin Hoffman appreciates the soundboard replacement, Joe's Classic Videogames!
So does John Williams! ;)
Hello from the UK.

Salut..Enchante' 😁🇫🇷
That's the first time I saw you tilt. I go right up to it.
i so love my pinsound board in my DE GNR...best uprade EVER!!!
Sounds amazing. Great job. Thanks for the video.
That sounds pretty sweet. Might have to try one.
Love that board!

Sounds epic !! Much better amnience to it,i used to have data east star wars and it also used to hum loudly..Thanks for the video guys x

Hook is my favorite pinsound mix! Need color DMD or maybe Pin2DMD from retrocity next
And suddenly, a pinball machine with a John Williams score. Now there's something you don't hear every day.
Also, my bookshelf speakers are enjoying the audio, it sounds fantastic even with my hypersensitivity :)
At 24min, that music reminds me of the music from the original "Rise of The Triads" game :)
yessss new sound board!!
New Sound Board!!!! NO Buzzing!!!!

11:27 tu parle français maintenant grace a toi j ai acheté le Fluke 23
Is there an option on the PinSound board to customize what sounds you can have original and what sounds you would want the new version of?
I could understand if your nostalgic original sounds, but I don't think you can beat John Williams' score and the upgraded voices.
Pinsound is the best!
Thank You !
Ou en Français Merci :)

The EQ controls onboard are useful because the original speakers in the cabinet were never designed to play high quality audio.
Looking forward to Joe’s international candy review
I dare you to change a call out to “It’s broke”.

If you have the addon headphone connector/volume control thing, you can change sound packs on the fly.
There was a rather abrupt cut near the end there. Me thinks there was a copyright issue with using the actual score from the film and putting it on RUclips. Am I right?
Yes RUclips cut out two full songs because apparently they're John Williams Masterpieces, LOL
Need new speakers to go with the new board

Consider a go pro on a chest harness....
Think how stupid I'd look with a camera strapped to my chest
You have a buzz also Ron
Wow, tu parles français, Ronnie???? 😲😁
