Manhattan Beach is a city in southwestern Los Angeles County, California, United States, on the Pacific coast south of El Segundo, and north of Hermosa Beach. As of the 2010 census, the population was 35,135, and in 2019 the population was estimated to be 35,183.
Manhattan Beach is one of the three Beach Cities, along with Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach, that make up the South Bay region of Los Angeles County. The community is known for a long beach stretching approximately 2.1 miles (3.4 km) and roughly 450 feet (140 m) wide. The climate is unusually moderate because of Manhattan Beach's proximity to the Pacific Ocean, with an average year-round high temperature of 69.1 °F (20.6 °C) and an average year-round low of 56.4 °F (13.6 °C).
Its schools are run independently of Los Angeles Unified School District with a separate school board based in Manhattan Beach. Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach is ranked in the top 1% of high schools nationally and has students from both Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach.
Hermosa Beach is a beachfront city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. Its population was 19,506 at the 2010 U.S. Census. The city is located in the South Bay region of the Greater Los Angeles area; it is one of the three Beach Cities. Hermosa Beach is bordered by the other two, Manhattan Beach to the north and Redondo Beach to the south and east.
Hermosa is a Spanish word meaning "beautiful".
The city's beach is popular for sunbathing, beach volleyball, surfing, paddleboarding, bars, cycling and running. The city itself extends only about 15 blocks from east to west and 40 blocks from north to south, with Pacific Coast Highway running down the middle. Situated on the Pacific Ocean, Hermosa's average temperature is 70 °F (22 °C) in the summer and 55 °F (13 °C) in the winter. Westerly sea breezes lessen what can be high summertime temperatures in Los Angeles and elsewhere in the county and help keep the smog away 360 days of the year.
Redondo Beach (Spanish for round) is a coastal city in Los Angeles County, California, United States, located in the South Bay region of the Greater Los Angeles area. It is one of three adjacent beach cities along the southern portion of Santa Monica Bay. The population was 66,748 at the 2010 census, up from 63,261 at the 2000 census.
Redondo Beach was originally part of the 1785 Rancho San Pedro Spanish land grant that later became the South Redondo area. The primary attractions include Municipal Pier and the sandy beach, popular with tourists and a variety of sports enthusiasts. The western terminus of the Metro Rail Green Line is in North Redondo Beach.

Great memories. I'm old enough to remember a pier at El Segundo too. Not a public pier, used by the refinery.
Remember fishing off all three piers back in the 60s and 70s and the old Redondo barge. Coastline is too congested now. Hermosa no longer has that old bohemian flavor. The old Hermosa theater, Greeko's Sandal shop, Either/Or Bookstore.
Manhattan....nice place to live, but boooooooring! Rode my bike thousands of miles on the old Strand! Saw the old Redondo pier go up in flames back in '88.

Good memories, but for me, old South Bay just ain't home no more. Moved to AZ in the mid-90s and now I'm home.

Wow. So many people who used to live in Southern California during the 60s, 70, 80s, and 90s have now moved to Arizona. There was also a Hennesseys Tavern in Pacific Beach/San Diego.

Moved from the hot 🥵 ☀️ San Bernardino valleys couple years ago to Torrance beaches to be near the breezy cool ocean 🌊 no more 2-hour drives to the 🏖 beach, no more traffic to the beaches, locals are nice, i’m glad to finally feel the breeze again and get my vitamin sea 😌 thank you for this video 😊

South bay is beautiful and safe but its expensive to live there . I just moved to longbeach 8 blocks from the beach 2bed 2 bath 2 parking spaces 1500 that's a great deal I can visit Redondo on the weekend if i really want to but longbeach is just as nice . Thanks for this video reminds me of my child hood

Just watched this video . Killed us to watch as we were SUPPOSED to be there right now but with the uptick in the Pandemic we reluctantly canceled.
We would have hit all of those places....our son lives in MDR...and we’ve been to all of these enclaves...
One minor item....squeaking sneakers or something along parts of the way....a tad annoying..but overall...great job.

They really should clarify that this is the South Bay region of Los Angeles. There are multiple "South Bay" regions in different California cities like San Diego and San Francisco.
not really - san diego isn't south bay, san fran is north bay
