If voter IDs are illegal, then so are Driver’s licenses. Voter IDs are to identify legal voters, the same with state IDs for alcohol purchases or driver’s licenses for legal drivers.

Seriously, in all my years (say 20+/-) that I've witnessed hearings/questioning on a President's judicial nominees, I've NEVER, EVER encountered a group sooooooooo unwilling to give a simple "yes" or "no" answer to VERY straight forward questions as has been the case with Biden's nominees. Curious if you have come away asking yourself the same thing? It's as if these nominees are INTENTIONALLY trying to be as non-compliant as humanly possible. Crazy, surreal times!

By stating "Yes I think voter ID laws are illegal", if a case regarding that matter were brought before her, there could be an appeal that cites her comment and they could say she already made up her mind on her decision before the case was brought before her. They would then get that appeal upheld and all sorts of tomfoolery happens then.
It happens all of the time in courtrooms, even with jurors. "Do you believe heroin addicts need professional help to overcome their addiction?" juror gives answer, and based on that answer council might move to dismiss them.
Judge makes a comment before a case starts about how he thinks that based on the defendants prior record that he is a deplorable human being? Appeal instantly appears if convicted and gets upheld.
She's just doing what any prudent attorney should do and he knows it, which is why he's grilling her in the way that he is. Not saying what he is doing is wrong, but I would expect nothing less. You don't want to nominate someone that will allow themselves to be so easily manipulated into giving a possibly problematic answer, or that will openly give an answer to such an obviously harmful question.
She said it was a good decision and would uphold the law if presented with a case like it.
I bet any amount of money, she had to show a ID to get into the building.

I find these objections to voter ID laws so very bizarre. How is it such an inconvenience? Do they not drive? A drivers license should be fine. Have they never gone to a bar or bought alcohol? You need ID for that, so again anyone should have it. Never filled a prescription? You need ID to pick those up at a pharmacy. There is no reason why anyone who is actually eligible to vote would not have ID.
When you have to present ID for just about everything, how could anybody feel that Voter ID is illegal or oppressive?
