Voter ID is not racist I assume.
But the access to get these IDs as well as the check, if you are still listed, is ruled in a legal setting combined with changed infrastructure.
All this taken together has the effect of a social filter.
The few offices giving this ID are in locations that are not easy to go, eg if you are poor or depend on public transport.
Have a look at the different drafts leading to the Voter ID Laws, you may find that early versions show that transport costs to register had been re- funded. This important details you may not find in the final version.
I'm happy to see, how careful GOP protects legal institutions. The very microscopic small number of voter fraud makes them fight to protect the Institut if free voting so proactively. Only the fear of voter fraud creates these activities.
I know that tons if due tax payments are not pulled. I'm so confused why GOP does not jump on this with same force. Isn't the institute of fair tax handling of similar importance for a people's future? Tell me your opinion please?

Purchasing a pack of cigarettes is not a right enshrined in the U.S. Constitution, unlike voting. If a voter ID is needed, it must be freely available, easy to get, and guaranteed for voters. This is to ensure that people who cannot otherwise afford a form of I.D. will have one. Otherwise, it becomes a poll tax if you have to spend money to ensure you can vote. Poll taxes have been outlawed for years because of their implementation in poorer neighborhoods, which are historically populated mostly with minorities. That is not an accident, mind you. Furthermore, Photo I.D., which is a specific form of voter I.D., have been notoriously difficult for people below the poverty line to acquire, which shuts them out of the democratic process and extinguishes their voices. Please consider this. We all should lift each other up, my friend.

If there is a cost associated for a tiny fraction of our population to have an ID, let's federally subsidize it to the municipal level. The cost would be paltry in comparison to the recent irresponsible stimulus packages passed. Actually, "ridiculous" falls short, it is insulting to anyone with average intelligence. It is like demanding mud pies (made of real mud) to be accepted in a gastronomy competition. It is like kicking someone in the groin, repeatedly, while demanding the victim to be grateful.

When asked why you have to have ID they said to many people were trying to get seen who weren’t the actual person. Stealing services as they called it. So how is this not racist. A white man going to get seen at a medical facility and turned away. Had to figure out where that ID was before they will let me In. So I’m guessing since we supposedly live in this highly racist country that they are going to just love telling people of color you can’t be seen without ID. Does this make sense? As for 2020's election, part of the problem was that THEY ENDED SIGNATURE REQUIREMENTS OR LESSENED THE THRESHOLD OF A POSITIVE MATCH WITH SIGNATURES. Many states, with a push from Zuckerberg's bunch of voting/ballot "helpers", went with a standard of only 20 to 30% of the signature having to match.
