Dude this is actually awesome. I’ve wanted to try painting parts in my barn but didn’t know how to control the overspray or fumes. This is legit genius!
Your only going to get a couple jobs out of that if the plastic isn't paint protection plastic like we use on cars.... The paint will stick to it and then flake off into your next project. When you plastic mask a vehicle is a special plastic. Other then that this booth looks absolutely awesome for sure..... Maybe cover the inside with the special masking plastic and that thing is gooooood to go!!!🎉🎉🎉
Nice little booth. Back in the late 70's my husband and I opened an independent custom body shop. We couldn't afford the big commercial paint booth he had grown to love working in at a Lincoln dealership. He was very good at designing and building and knew exactly what it takes to make it work. We built our own full size paint booth. It had lights, clean air filtering system, exhaust fans with no flow back dust, water plumbed to the inside and a floor drain. Even had a double enter room for changing and prepping to paint. He did custom work that included many show cars, boats, bikes so it he had to have that perfect no trash finish. That homemade booth lasted him many many years.
Guessing he’s passed away or as he ? . Very nice story . Love hearing what the last generation did ! Hoping to have a life filled with memories like these .
Be very careful with house fans in a paint booth if you’re not painting with water based paint. My uncle lost a car and his garage when a fan ignited single stage paint fumes and blew the garage up. He had been painting cars like this for over 7 years before this. Find a safe for flammable area fan.
@@HappyFish50 I got that part I just didn’t understand the explosion proof fans. I didn’t know that was even a hazard or a type of fan. I think I’m gonna invest in a couple just to be safe. I would like to completely re paint my truck idk if doing it by parts is a smart idea. What do you think?
Haha I was brainstorming how to build mine and this is exactly what I thought of. Only difference is I’m gonna have to make it taller and get a bigger tarp because I plan on driving my f150 under it because I’m doing my roof panel
Have you painted, did you have any problem with exahust fans ? Just asking because they say exhaust fumes could going through fan motors? Is it something to worry about?
What if they shared pressure thru a connection hose tank to tank ? Would both motors still be able to run or only one at a time? Guess you could always put a shutoff valve between them 🤷
You can use 2×4 frame for about 50 bucks and the thicker mil plastic is about 20 bucks. We make these for our tile jobs. Except we put nice tarp under everything as well because wet saws get everywhere. You can get some clamps to hang things from and vent it where you want. Clients are very happy when you don't get crap everywhere.

Nice! On the inlet side, put the filters on the outside. Otherwise over time the fan will get filthy. The outlet side is perfect

Very interesting read. I've used these for years myself.
Boom, meeting jesus
Awesome idea nice job
This is Amazing! What are the dimensions and do
You have a step by step video?
Thank you so much! I'm a high school science teacher, and this will be PERFECT for me and my student to cook in! I really love this idea!
Thank you for watching! I’m glad I can help.
Funny comment even funnier because the maker responded and didn’t get it 😂
I thought Heisenberg died. I guess not
Walmart air purifiers work great at removing smoke
@@jtfoog5220😉😉🧪
Better watch out for the fumes from the paints. Those aren't sealed motors may go go boom.
yep, definitely need explosion proof exhaust fans if using solvents.
BOX FANS ARE BRUSHLESS SO NOT LIKELY@@michaelcrossley7349
This is exactly how it's done! Well done gents!
Thank you!
The fresh air filter goes on the outside to pull, not push the dirt air.
Explosion proof fans and duct necessary. DI-WHY.
@@Ltytify DI-WHY is right, but still need to do it correctly with the correct concept behind it...
I saw that too, so you’re saying that if I were to put the filter on the outside the fan would break?
@@thedevil9742 for fresh air, you want to suck it thru the filter not push it there..

You can double them up if you wanna make a full car booth
I like it simple items used ingeniously

is the zipper in the paint section?
Make Shure the fans are explosion proof...
In real paint dept in car manufacturing the fans blow particulates into a continuous water stream
Try putting the filters on the other side so that the suction makes a better seal on the inlet
u could 2 tents for a full car tho
Hea but getting the car inside is the challenge
Genius bro

So sick I love this
Thank you!
this shit is genius
a grow tent for weed is also a good option, comes in different sizes and a bag to store it in...
Was thinking the same
Who else thought he meant a painting booth for a party? 😂
Nobody with a brain.
How can i buy thiss😊
Depending on the humidity I would not have a plastic floor. Just pour water and the fans need to suck the fumes and over spray cloud out the booth
Couldn’t u do 2 back to back to fit a full car?
How much for the tent and materials?

I think you’d have better luck if all the fans were facing out. If you can get your hands on a fog machine you can do a fun experiment.
Great job 👍 what size is it?
I think it’s a 10x10
Nice grow room
The mob had these as well. They called them something a bit different.
Every mob boss has one of these "painting booths" in their garage.
😂😂😂
@@CarOps you send laughing faces, but I'm far from kidding
Fucked up a whole grow tent for art. Smh. Thx for the info tho
I hope that’s a non spark fan lol
Nope 😅
Never do this, you could burn your house down.
now where does your car and tools go?
2 gazebos sid by side 1x2 whole car? 👀
The make them so you don’t have to build it like this. I’ve seen at Home Depot
Why not a full car?! might as well. I have seeing people do worst.
Bro you was serious about this paint both
I’m telling you now just get a proper booth this is a hazard bro looks cool but protect your health
Definitely not a full car...unlesss lol jk
