  • Once again I'm out at Giants Ridge and this time hittin' the double black trails Goliath and Granite Gorge. These are the gnarliest trails the Ridge has to offer. Are these actually double black trails though? I guess that's debatable. But they're fun either way.
    Nothing fancy here, just some POV shots of me ridin' the trails. Although I do follow Adam Buck down Granite Gorge and the stoke birds where chirpin'!
    Goliath is fast, rocky and has plenty of jumps. Some of the jumps are spaced kinda weird for trail speed though. There's a few that are really easy to over shoot and a couple that are basically impossible to clear without pedaling at em. Still a super fun trail and the berms are so good, especially the S-berm after the first rock face.
    Granite Gorge is hella rocky and technical. It's probably more rock then dirt. If you're a fan of fast rock gardens then this is the trail for you. It also has a really cool view before you bomb down a steep rock face towards the top. Granite Gorge merges into Goliath towards the end.
    These two trails are probably the only trails in Minnesota (that are open right now) that I feel like I'd want a bike with more travel for. My bike has taken a bit of a beating from these haha. It's too much fun not to send it though!
    Filmed with the GoPro Hero 8 black with a chin mount on my full face.
    I'm ridin' a Salsa Rustler

    Send it!

    I appreciate the use of the long rock slabs in these trails. Rock slabs are my favorite things to ride. Killer video and way to fly through these trails!

      Yeah the first rock slabs in both trails are pretty awesome. The one on Granite Gorge has an awesome view from the top but you can’t really tell from the video.
      Appreciate it bud 🤙🏻

      Brian Vaughn yeah it’s a lot of fun there. Lots of trails being built too. But yeah the drive is a bit far but I’d say worth it

    So, I went to giants ridge this past weekend and rode Goliath for the first time. Actually my first time riding downhill. I would consider myself a pretty good rider, but after watching you fly through Goliath I need to reconsider how “good” I am!
    Nice video and I’d like to ride with you sometime!

      Yeah some of those are not easy to clear, really gotta be on it. 🤙🏻

      SireSingletrack and I had a blast there. Yea man, awesome runs down these two fun ass trails. Still not dialed on either of these but it gives me a great reason to come back! Damn man, where are you at now? You’ve cleaned some of the craziest shit in the Midwest, is this driving you to want to build even gnarlier shit?

    • @ridindirt
      @ridindirt  4 года назад +2

      Dialed in thanks bud. Yeah I want way gnarlier stuff around here! To be clear though Rock Solid built all the trails at Giants Ridge. I work for Pathfinder and we are still here building 2 trails that’ll be open next season.
      I would love to be able to build the biggest jumpline in the Midwest, it’s a dream of mine.

    I don't know if they should be double blacks but they sure are fun!! Glad to see you fellas are making the most of your time up there on the ridge.

      Kristofer Yahner I definitely agree 🤙🏻

      Yep agree. A little too “manufactured smooth” for that double black rating in my opinion. If that makes sense?

  • @maz_mtb3266
    @maz_mtb3266 4 года назад +1

    I need to get over my fear of jumping/dropping over rock gardens. Both trails are a blast to ride, but you make Goliath look so smooth vs me bashing my way through all the rock gardens. haha Still a blast no matter the speed!
