- Chapee does a roadside Bell Helmet review from central Australia having worn his Bell Helmet for over 6000kms of riding as he rides around Australia in his 06 Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe.
by far the best demo i've ever seen. safe ride Chapee, i ll look you up when im in Australia again mate. cheers
Thank you for the practical review rather than having an agenda promoting specific and paid for products. Much appreciated.Your statements helped me decide between two comparable products.
Being wearing this during the summer this year in Greece where the Temperature gets to 40° C and I never felt uncomfortable
Hey Rusty, Great thing with these helmets is you can ride with the visor part open which I do most of the time as still gives me the sensation of an open helmet. Still digging this helmet and honestly I can't see myself going back to my open helmet. Keep your knees in the breeze. Cheers Chapee.
Thanks for the review, bough the helmet thanks to you and it was totally worth the price
Man on a budget, (me) I think we'll give it go...thanks for taking the time to post the vid.👍
Thanks, I just got one. I will now know what that sound is if I do indeed experience that noise you mention. Looks like you can hit some speed out where you are.
Hey Adam. I have the transition lense which is photochromatic so changes from light to dark depending on the outside brightness. Works really well even with me wearing my regular optical glasses while riding. One thing to be mindful of is they cost approx $240 in Australia to replace just the visor so treat them well. I find the Bell Helmet bag that comes with the helmet most useful to pull over the helmet when not in use to protect it. Another tip is buy yourself a D clamp combination lock that you can secure on your bike then lock the helmet stainless chin strap buckle to that any time you leave your bike and helmet unattended otherwise someone can walk off with your helmet. I have now ridden 21000kms on my ride around Australia and I am still lovin the helmet, just sayin. Hope that helps and keep your knees in the breeze. CHAPEE
It's insane how dark that transition visor is. I wouldn't have expected it to get that dark.
Hey Chapee, thanks very much for the reply. I did end up buying the helmet and am very happy with it. I do find the transitions visor slightly too dark, but it's winter here in the UK so I'm sure I'll appreciate it more once summer arrives! It's a great helmet and very comfortable. The only minor criticism is that when you turn your head slightly you get a noticeable increase in wind noise. This only happens on one side of the helmet so the only thing I can think is that the cover for the Sena cavity might cause the noise. Anyway apart from that very happy with the helmet. Cheers, Adam
Hi Andrei. Yep mine is the Bell Qualifier DLX ECE Transitions with MIPS in the Matte Black. Dug out the receipt to make sure. Still using it and still enjoying it. Keep your tyre's rolling Andrei. CHAPEE
Thank you for your shared experience after 6k km !
I recommend the Senna SMH10 comms system for this lid. Mine has been superb.
Awesome review bloke. I've been riding my FXST with an open face helmet and the older I get, the more it shits me off, especially since moving out to country. Based on research and this review, I reckon I'll head in to town and pick one up. Cheers and safe travels.
Suggest make sure it is the one with the polychromatic visor as these alone cost over $100 to replace. At least in Australia they do. Makes big difference having the sun adjusting visor. Hope that clarifies. Chapee
Thank you for the review. I'm looking to go from an open face to a full helmet as you did and this is one of the helmets I'm looking at. Thumbs way up to you Sir! 👍👍👍
Thanks for this review mate ,
Cheers .
Thanks for this. I'm likely to pick up the hi-viz format.
Got it to run. Great video. Thanks for posting it.
Glasses fit fine with helmet on but I bought my optical glasses with photochromic lenses as in go dark in bright sunlight so if riding with visor up they shade the sun. Just make sure they have not too bulky side arms as you have to put helmet on first then your glasses. Also make sure they are sturdy frames so they can handle being pushed on as is tight when helmet on. Hope that helps you so you can get your knees in the breeze as soon as possible! Chapee
I have one that says Hornet on the bottom with a cool design on it. What's that worth?
Big thumbs up from me brother thanks for giving a it a review!!
I have this helmet, the only issue I have is the incredible amount of wind noise. I need to figure out how to stop it. It kills my ears. Other than that, I love it. Also, you can change the lens to a clear for night time riding.
Ear plugs
Great review! Thank you!
I just bought this today in a popular motorcycle shop. How come mine doesn't have the blue tooth side connector. Ummm....
Finally an honest review.
Thanks Raymond appreciate the positive feedback. Chapee
@@chapeeomgy917 I own that same helmet now.
You should have made it clear that it is the 'DLX' version of the Qualifier helmet........ which is around $140 (US Dollars) more than the regular Qualifier and offers more stuff like the additional vent in the middle just above visor, MIPS system for additional crash protection, photochromic shield, side plate opening to mount bluetooth, and I believe a qwick wick liner which the regular Qualifier doesn't have. So yeah, not the same standard Qualifier helmet that is $140 cheaper.
Hello mate. Nice and honest video. I just ordered mine and doesnt have the intercom port on the left. Do you know if they stopped it for 2019 and 2020 models?
Hi Konstantinos. As long as it is the DLX ECE MIPS Model it should have the intercom cover that clips out as I understand. There is a basic model so suggest check make sure it is not that one. On mine I don't use the intercom so ended up putting black tape over the clip out cover as found it vibrated a bit and was annoying. Hope that helps. Hopefully we can all get out riding again soon. Chapee
@@chapeeomgy917 It is indeed the DLX MIPS ece model. Tje shop that I bought ot from just informed me now that some helmets from somepoint and after they dont have as this port was specifically designed for old models of sena and cardo. Anyway, I have my own intercom, and as you are saying it will be annoying, I will not make problem for that. So, you think nice choice for this helmet hm? 😎
Nice review, thanks! Is it Bell Qualifier DLX helmet you're reviewing?
unreal thanks man !!
Sold!
Thanks for the review Chapee. I have a Bell open face, but looking for something for the winter months so this is really helpful. Can I ask, do you have the transitions visor that changes from clear to tinted in the sun, or a smoked visor?
He said he had the Transitions visor at 3:50
How well do your glasses fit with the helmet on?
excellent
Cheers
Great review, revzilla will not tell you about the vibrations at speed, they just want to sell you stuff with no real world test.
Yeah i got this helmet as my first. Kinds regret not getting the top end model as this qualifier is horribly noisy at highway speeds. The wind pierces your ears. Other than the wind noise its comfy and breathable and looks real good. Looking to upgrade to the race star flex DLX
What's the helmet made of ?
Hi Jism. Suggest best to Google the Bell Helmet official website for an accurate rundown on what exactly they are made of as I don't want to misquote you on the tech stuff. All I know is it has a good safety rating, is lightweight and from all accounts has the MIPS multi impact protection system. Still got mine and still good. Thanks for dropping by my Vlogs. Chapee.
@@chapeeomgy917 ok will do thanks 😊
Lol my house next to the road the sound of car feel like the car behind me.
I coming from open face helmet
I have accident 2 time last year and 3 month ago I trauma so full face it is having visor brake and go in cutting my nose to my lips and hitting both my left and right eyebrow is horror.
you have my sympathy if you wore than noisey pos for 6000Km btw new visors are $140USD. im getting a howling on the left that i'm sure is from the visor not fitting against the gasket.
4 thumbs up!!?
$350???? It’s $100 brand new on amazon
Australia pricing.
bloody seppos haha
@@stefanlauster4877 had to look up what a seppo was. Damn Aussies sry I don't have a derogatory term got Australians.
100 $ ? That might one of the other Qualifiers:Base model or with the DLX W/out MIPS.(Cheaper)As of now only the MIPS includes the excellent Transition shield in the box.Well worth it as you will add an extra $140 to get it on the cheaper model(s)Learn from my mistake! Good value helmet but don’t forget the earplugs.
You’re not comparing the same exact model with the features (transition shield, MIPS) he mentioned at the start. I just bought one with the same features his had for $270 USD.
Video stops at 37 seconds and won't continue. Tried 2x so far.
Hi Just checked and video ran right through to end so all OK here. Thanks for letting me know. Chapee
@@chapeeomgy917 I really want to see this. I hope I can get it to run all the way through.
