When I started HZD a few months ago I watched a movie style video of it. I remember watching Aloy beat Hades and thinking i wouldn't be able to get to that point even on story mode. I beat the game after 100 hours and I was stoked. I started watching your videos after starting FW. Thanks to you, I just started a New Game + on Normal mode. I never thought I could leave story mode. Sincerely, thank you. I know it's just youtube video game stuff, but these games have helped a lot with my PTSD and my chronic pain. So thank you so much from this veteran. Cant wait to play Normal mode.

I "discovered" something that's been very helpful to me (since I went for UH without being a NG+). It's using the Stalker cammo valor surge + stealth strike +2 (+4), in a "non stealth way". It makes your stealth strikes deal almost 2k dmg, using smoke bombs you can do two or even three of those in a single surge duration to kill a big machine without using any resources (aside from the 60g from smoke bombs), that's what I've been using for finishing off apex machines after I finished tearing down the components I want.

Yeah, no doubt Arktix deserves even one mention from Guerrila. The dedication he puts into creating guide videos about Horizon is amazing, and all of them rock solid to boot, learned many things from him. My build consists on bows (hunter, warrior and sharpshot) one boltblaster and one ropecaster, all legendary of course. I however find myself spamming Hunter Bows with the instant Frost coils and then using the Carja's Bane with Elite Critical coils to do damage with the spreadshot. My outfit is pretty much identical to yours aside that I use two of the Elite Stamina coils. Although your suggesting to use the other Coil that allows you to instantly drink potions and while running is a pretty sweet deal, and arguably better actually.

Instant frost on a hunter bow is definitely a good option for frost. Give potion proficiency a try. Giving up the second elite WTs weave isn't for everyone, but potion proficiency is kinda underrated in my opinion!
@@ArktixOfficial Yes, because it's much faster to drink a potion to get stamina (and also don't forget about the ranged potion boost) than to wait for it even at the max level.

That's actually my only complaint with Arktix. All of his videos revolve around the hunter with bows playstyle. I'd love to see some melee, trapper and machinist playstyle videos.😊
Perfect timing! I took a break from Horizon to play Ghost of Tsushima (great game), and now I'm back to Forbidden West. Right now I'm playing quickly through all of the main quests so that I can do Burning Shores again. Thanks again for all of your hard work on these videos!

I was honestly thinking that I wasn't quite ready for this play-style yet, but it isn't nearly as tough as I had thought! I love finding new ways to play the game, as it makes everything fresh all over again.

Hope they add quick loadout (outfit, weapons, and valor) option. Sometime I want to change the playstyle inbetween fights but having to pause game to change outfit and weapons is lame
So funny that this is the exact load out I'm using for my first NG+ UH run, although I swap outfits for different scenarios. Also, I'm focusing a more melee play style. So fun! Glad I'm not the only one who hates those waterwing sounds, LOL. Love your videos man, so helpful!
Watching a few of your loadout videos encouraged me to try weapons I don't normally rely on and opened my eyes on hunter bows, didn't realise how little damage they did compared to others. I've even really taken a liking to warrior bows now thanks to you. I usually struggle a bit taking on machines on "normal" (I'm not that skilled) but last night I took down thunderjaws and slaughterspines etc from testing all this and it felt so easy! I know Hard-Ultra Hard will still be a challenge but this actually seems like I'll be able to take on machines now without freaking out entirely.
Good to see our choices overlap on most weapon picks. Using the burst weapon technique on the Eye of the Storm is a great tip! I'll use that next time. I've equipped mine with full concentration recently simply because elite frost is just too OP. Interesting choice with Gravesinger's Lament. Might switch over too. Probably won't because the weapon's skin/design is my idea of 'Aloy's Bow'. Still a good weapon to try out though. I am missing some of the other viable options. This is definitely the best loadout, but not everyone plays like us. So making a 'best second choice' list would have been helpful. I asked Paris for some of his calculations on whether one single elite weapon technique weave is better than a +2 Weapon stamina or +2 stamina regen weave. Regen is better. Most of the best outfits already have that so +2 weapon stamina is sometimes the best call. I've started using the knockdown shot weapon technique on the hunter bow to knock down smaller machines. 1 or 2 is enough for small/medium machines. Weirdly enough, it doesn't stack with regular knockdown buildup. So for bigger machines I either use a +2 weapon stamina weave or potions as it'll require 3 shots. Power shots (lvl 3) + Tie that binds with full elite overdraw explosive canisters is able to take down the biggest machines without any ammo cost on UH. I believe some videos of that combo were posted in the Discord server. I think it was LaChancla and MrFancypants? But I am not sure.
Thanks Phos! Yeah in hindsight maybe I should have included a section at the end showing another end-game loadout variation I would recommend. For example, including the Tie That Binds instead of Last Argument for immobilization. I agree stamina regen is more valuable than weapon stamina. I like the balance of +1 for each from the elite weave, but as Paris mentioned in his comment, +2 regen would be a very good option as well. Interesting you've started using knockdown shot. I like that WT as well, but I guess I've always gravitated back to triple notch because I don't want to switch WTs mid-combat. I toyed around with having a 2nd/3rd hunter bow in the loadout specifically for KD at one point, but I decided I liked drill spikes better. Slaz did show me that canister harpoon build yesterday. I'm going to work that into my rope caster master class 👍🏼
Thank you for converting me to a hybrid build between low health and hunter (vanquisher being base armor). It is so powerful and so worth it. 🙏 Now that being said, i have a balstsling where you have your spike thrower to get myself to 200 hp. But i digress. Thank you!!!!❤
Awesome! That's a great choice. The blastsling is definitely the best way to get to low health. I just can't give up my drill spikes, so I rely on machines to get my to low health mostly 😂 Glad you found this helpful!

THANK GOD for this video. I was working on different builds and actually found that I would never use the Boltblaster, it just felt too much like I needed to follow a script. There are some real good tips in here which I think I will adopt. But I will never give up the Sun Scourge. It's like I'm watching a rookie RUclipsr video over here. Blasphemy.

This is nearly my exact build now with a few changes. 1st against most enemies I use the rain of sparks since it’s usually not worth freezing them. 2nd I never find it worth hitting canisters since I just end up missing more shots than I hit. 3rd I only use my sharpshot bow against humans so I have the final chapter against enemies I’m using ancestors return with and the rope caster in other occasions incase I get overwhelmed.
I am writing this just as an appreciation comment. Maan, I remember first time seeing one of your videos and commenting about your microphone processing for being too harsh on the highs. And you were at 10-15k subs if I remember correctly. But since then I subscribed and found myself coming back often for new tips on horizon and now I see you are almost at 60k. Hey Arktix, something else you might want to add to the list of skills to remove: under the Infiltrator skills you want to disable _both_ of the Silent Strike Heal skills as well, if you're running a low-health build (like I am, because it rules). I don't actually use Silent Strike that much now that the rest of my build is so overpowered, BUT it turns out that using the Vine Cutter on metal flowers counts as a Silent Strike, which means clearing them out will also heal you.
I just tried using a shredder gauntlet with 2 ammo types, one for damage, one for tear. Aloy did manage to catch a few of them, since they came back, but most of them I wound up losing and had to craft more. (and yes, I used the technique you mentioned in another video, about moving in one direction to make the catching easier. didn't seem to work)
Great video! Really enjoyed the intricate breakdowns of the functions of each weapon and outfit. One thing that I thought could be fun is a version of your coiling guide, but for people that can't/don't want to use the Arena exploits for the infinite coils?

Nice loadout! Really got most bases covered, though there are some things I usually prioritize more. I'm just finishing up my first burning shores playthrough myself and preparing for NG+, and as such I've been setting up for my endgame loadout as well (would be finished but my save data from PS4 didn't transfer😭). My main damage source so far has been Carja's bane with warriors vigir valor surge, which I prefer over ranged master for the simple reason that it's better if you get crushed while it's active, since taking damage depletes stamina and ranged master is only better when you can leverage the extra stamina regen. But once I get Iriv's downfall I'll probably end up going back to it plus powershots, since that valor surge skips the ammo cost downside for the elite arrows (also, does powershots boost focused shot? I feel like I've heard that it doesn't, or is it that focused shot can't crit?). Defiance is also a insta pick as well, with the drill spikes and the powershots+splitting spike combo that decimates everything. Beyond that, I'm thinking sun scourge, TLG, and tie that binds, whike rounding it out with the carja's bane as an alternate damage source and crowd control. My only regrest is the loss of purgewater bombs, which I love for thier ability to absolutely shut down machines like fireclaws, scoechers, and ESPECIALLY elemental clawstriders (seriously, purgewater ruins these machines). TLG may have purgewater arrows, but they aren't nearly as potent as even the corrosive blastsling's bombs, at least from my memory.
So amazing guides you've made. I'm just following your early mid and end game must have weapons guide and trying to cope up. A sub to your channel man from my side. It's so helpful. Still I must say upgrading is damn pathetic and frustrating .
If I may add a critique/suggestion it would be to provide how to coil your weapons after a base game run. Maybe even after 1 run through burning shores. Many of us don’t use the duplication glitch so saying to use 5 legendary crits on a bow is nice but not really practical. Love your content though, you are the best I have found at horizon coverage 👍

I have to disagree with Ropecaster Expert being a hindrance. That 8-second Tiedown has helped me reload my Boltblaster or set up Triple Notch on my Hunter Bow before getting back to the fight.
I'm close to that, I play very hard, rain of sparks, eye of storm, gravesinger, blastforge, deethseeker, ancestors return. Eye of storms has 3 elite frost and 2 elite shock, everything else has elite crits. Everything crit was not intentional, I just happen to notice one day that it was like that. I still drop gravesinger for delta when not fighting large apex machines. With 3 elite overdraw, its just so fast and still powerful enough to kick ass on very hard.
My final loadout for the game was as follows Armor: Tenakth Vanquisher Surge: Defy Death Rain of Sparks - Elite Critical Hits x5 Eye of the Storm - Elite Frost x5 Tears of the Land-God - Elite Overdraw x2, Elite Tear x3 Tie That Binds - Elite Overdraw x5 Iriv's Downfall - Elite Critical Hits x5 Last Argument - Elite Overdraw x5 This basically maximizes one shot kill from stealh with valour surge, low health buffs, elite precision arrow from Iriv's. Instant brittle, smoke bomb, then precision arrow from stealth. This can one shot a Thunderjaw on Ultra Hard. Rain of Sparks is for general use with spread shot - crazy damage. Land God for super high tear. Tie That Binds for utility, and Last Argument is mostly just for fun with drillspikes. Last Argument is mostly interchangeable for whatever I feel like messing with at the time, haha. As much as I actually dislike low health builds, they are just too strong to ignore. Your dedication to this game is next level, I finally put it down a while ago as I feel like there just isn't anything left to do - finished at Ghost Level 135. I will be eagerly awaiting Horizon 3!

Ghost level 135 is definitely some hours in 😁👍🏼 Totally understandable that it would be time to take a break. Hopefully H3 isn't too many years away!
@@setiawan.tatamiharja you can get them by doing multiple playthroughs, but there was also a duplication glitch you could exploit in the arena area. This glitch was originally patched, but players have subsequently found work arounds and have still been able to do it. I haven't played the game in quite a long time at this point so I'm not sure what the current status is and whether it can still be done.
Excellent guide, many thanks. Assuming you don't use the Arena duplication glitch to get extra coils, how many playthroughs do you need to do to get all the elite crit coils? Also, for the Vanquisher, I found that yanking the stamina weave off the Nora Thunder Warrior got me all the stamina I needed; the other weave is a low health regen weave for faster regen. I find with that setup I never really run out of stamina (I might once I get to playing on UH, I guess?), and once I hit the 200HP threshold and the regen kicks in I become nigh-unkillable. The Defy Death valor surge is pretty excellent; almost as good a boost as Ranged Master, plus some other perks. Thanks again for the tips! I'm on my second playthrough and still loving every minute of it.
Video is a little older so I don't know if this will be seen, but how did you get so many duplicates of all the Coils? Have you just done that many NG+ runs or am I missing something?
I'm one of those players who's OCD about using up my items & Potions, lol so double dipping those Elite Weapon Technique coils would be my go to. That said, I REALLY need to try out a Low Health build! I'm pretty good at avoiding damage anyway, so I'm probably holding myself back by not doing this.

Thanks! And good question. It's true there's not really anything left to tackle lol. I'm using this to mess around in NG+ runs and just generally fighting machines to figure out new tactics and such.
Fun fact: TotLG with 5 elite tear and full stealth tear armor is still not enough to remove all things with one arrow. If I remember right (it was a while) this specifically is on the slaughterspine nexus cores, the tail and neck canister armor. Just ridiculous high defense. But you can still hit the resources as there’s small small SMALL openings in the design of the armor
I agree w most all your choices, aside for the Death Seeker. I really hate what they did to it, nerfing it to death like they did. I just can't justify using up a weapon slot just for Shock Arrows, which I hardly ever use anyway. I don't often go for exploding canisters either w how easy it is to inflict statuses now. Shock duration in this game is also too short imo.

Hey thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 😁 I don't think the Tactician is going to help with gauntlet runs. The race mechanics don't really rely on any of the skills perks it provides, unless you're damaging other racers with your mount, but that's not really effective.
Nice vid as always! :-) I see a few similarities with my build - happy about that (I consider that as a confirmation that I’m doing at least a few things right ;-) My no. 1 weapon is the GL with a full elite critical coil build (I finally have 5 - they all go here). If the occasion calls for it (tight groups of machines or rebels), I combine that with the Chain Burst valor surge (I think we talked about this in a previous comment section). That’s were the similarities with your build end, though. I’m a Hunter player, so although I’ve used other weapons before, it’s all bows for me: 4 hunter and 2 sharp shot bows. My Sun Scourge is coiled up for frost, the Death Seeker’s Shadow is coiled up for shock, and the Tears of the Land God is coiled up for purge water. Being fully upgraded, those bows do their jobs very nicely, even if I need to triple notch for instant effect. The 4th hunter bow on my weapon wheel is the Emperor’s Reign coiled up for attack. It’s got the strongest advanced arrows and in that config it suffices for one shot-ing smaller machines. I complement this with 2 sharp shot bows: the Gravesinger’s Lament (full legendary crit build as mentioned above): this is my “hunter bow on steroids”, and Irivs Downfall which I’ve coiled up for… (wait for it…) TEAR. I have two 100% sharp shot bow tear coils, those are too good to pass on. I made it a full tear build on Iriv’s: one shot, one tear, regardless of the machine. The only downside I have there is that it uses the same arrows as my GL for attack. But those are quickly crafted in a pinch. My tactical approach is this: disarm OP machine if needed using Iriv’s, induce elemental state with the appropriate hunter bow, then use (default) GL to finish the job. It’s fun going on Big Machine Hunting Safari like this, even on Very Hard. Happy hunting! :-)

Why do you use 2 Valor Surge Skills, when you do not often use Valor Surge? Second question: I'm using still the Nora Thunder Warrior Outfit, but I also do not use Valor Surges very often, so do you have a recommendation for the empty slot from "Valor Surge +2"?
I know I'm a bit late, but I still prefer the Nora Thunder Warrior for a low health playstyle. I just use 2 low health ranged coils since I really like the low health regen over the low health valor being maxed out. The shortened regen time is just too good for me, especially when getting perma stunned by a group of machines, and I only ever use cleanse potions in combat, which I can just pop smoke if I need that.
Another great video! Loadout is very similar to what I landed on. My only criticism is that I would like to see builds with coil counts that are reasonable for a single playthrough and/or a single NG+ playthrough *without* duping. The legitimate choice of how to use a limited stock of elite coils and even how that limitation might affect weapon choice (e.g., is Eye of the Storm as good a replacement for The Sun Scourage without a full five Elite Frost coils?) is unfortunately lost here.

Berserk Blast is so much fun bro you're missing out Agree 100% on Vanquisher armor, though you may want to always blast yourself to critical health and use a low health regen coil to optimize its benefits. You get to survive anything that's not fire or plasma damage on Ultra Hard, and you're back to "peak" health in a matter of seconds
I thought I was alone in choosing DSS over TotLG, but it’s much more useful for the way I play (especially with access to elite coils). I do wish the two bows could have been combined (like an upgraded Lightning HB). I also switch out Sun Scourge for Eye of the Storm, but only in the DLC. I find the accuracy at range more useful in the main game. If the Bilegut and Waterwing were not both pouncer-type machines, perhaps, I’d not feel the need to switch them, but both these new machines try to stay right on top of Aloy, so…Sun Scourge goes to inventory.
No official news yet, but I think it could be as early as this December. Some obscure leaks have suggested this could be the case and the timing makes sense to me. Could easily be early/mid 2024 though. I’d be surprised if it released later than mid 2024. I’ll be sure to post about it when there’s any solid news 👍🏼
How about using Nora thunder warrior with 2 elite weaves which basically gives all essential skill upgrade for low heath build? The only downside is losing potion proficiency but getting bunch of skills from archer tree
melee defense on that armor is kind of dog shit, on legendary its 55 vs 38 purple in defense I believe dont remember exact number. you might actually get two shot for missing 1/4 defense status. and concentration is not that important when u spam warrior bow and potion :o.
The other drawback to TotLG is that it looks too similar to Gravesinger's Lament: I'll often think I'm holding one when it's really the other. I wonder if anyone else has that problem
There are Armors w a Food Duration buff that you can just throw on real quick to double your Food effect to 15 minutes @ Level 4, then just switch back. I ASSUME the duration doesn't suddenly get reduced if you switch armors? If so, then there's no real reason not to do this before using a Food item. This game REALLY needs a quick swap option for both Weapons AND Armor! Honestly, the problem w Food is how its implemented, being only able to hold 5 at a time. Why they tried to somehow make THIS aspect of the game more "realistic", is beyond me. The game is already plenty unrealistic as it is. Food would be SO much more useful if you could actually hold a proper amount of it at once!
I honestly hate that the new Warrior Bow is all Elemental. Elemental ammo is still more expensive to craft than regular Warrior Bow bolts. I'd rather use those with Insta Chance coils. & honestly, w all those Elite Coils, what purpose does using the new Warrior Bow serve? Why not just do this with the Carja's Bane which has stronger/cheaper regular bolts? At least you'd be doing more damage before the element kicks in that way, and also won't have the chance of Corrode kicking in instead of Frost. I do like your comments about Warrior Bows vs Boltblasters, & I fully agree. You're just too immobile w Boltblasters to use them against anything but giant machines or ones that are knocked down, and DEFINITELY not against big groups of machines! That said, I'd MUCH rather use the Carja Bane for my Insta Chance coils & Rain of Sparks for damage, due to it coming with Crit Chance & Crit Damage perks! Yes, insta Burning is annoying, but I just deal w it & consider it a free stun which isn't so bad. Being that I haven't played thru the game 10x times to have as many Coils as you do lol, this makes the most sense for me. If I had 10x Elite Crit Coils then I suppose I'd consider doing what you did too.
Bro, I'm using the glowblast rn and I noticed that whenever I freeze an enemy, my crit chances go higher and I nearly hit 3k damage in one shot with 3 elite crit coils. That was without the frickin valor 😭 This bow is madness and the fact it's so resource efficient. Bro , I'm in love. lmaooooooo
I wish I could use iriv without worrying about the resource heavy arrows. I used delta sharpshot for damage after using the death seeker. Now I'm about to switch to warden sharpshot cause it's got great impact with 2 purple impact coils and a purple crit chance coil. Do you have any suggestions? I just need a good purple bow that's resource efficient and powerful.
I will never be able to play at this level. I’ve tried using some of the techniques you talk about in your other videos, trying to be more deliberate about how I play, and I’m just sooo bad at it.
No worries! I have over 1000 hours in the game. You'd have to be as crazy/crazier than me to play at the same level 😂 But hopefully these build tips can help you with whatever build or playstyle you like to run!
Is the Crit build on the AR stronger than 5 Elite Overdraw? or, same same? I'm using 5 Elite shock right now for a change of pace while farming parts in advance of my first UH run...
Because of this video, i really do think Guerilla should add maybe a loadout setup or option in the game or next game especially now that they have outfits that specializes a specific skill (warrior, hunter, etc.) I do have one question though, is it worth it to use a lot of advanced ammos even though you can only carry 15 max volatile sludge? I find it hard sometimes when i run out of sludge and cant get to shoot some ammos I need. Or maybe i'm doing it wrong 😅😅
Oh yeah. Being able to set loadouts and swap them quickly would be excellent 👌🏼 "Worth it" is hard to say. Depends on your playstyle and ability to use the ammo effectively. 15 can definitely be limiting sometimes, but if you don't use too many ammos that require volatile sludge, then you'll rarely run out mid-fight. It's also important to be looting machines that drop volatile sludge (primarily Apex ones) to replenish it.

I appreciate your content, it helped me immensely, but I just wish you would give realistic coil recommendations. All of those u mentioned are not obtainable without using the dupe arena glitch. I mean cmon, 5 elite crit coils, while you can only obtain 1 legit way.
Thanks! Glad you've found my content helpful. I understand what you're saying about coils, but it's very simple to just substitute in a lower rarity coil for what I'm showing. Also, this is the ultimate build after all. I have dedicated coiling videos that going into coil recommendations in more detail. You can actually obtain duplicate coils if you don't want to do the glitch, but you have to do multiple NG+ playthroughs.

Defy Death is pretty good to get you in the low health state, but there’s other ways to get into the low health state fairly easily (damage yourself, wait until a machine damaged you enough, etc.). So, personally, I think the valor surge slot can be used more effectively.
Yup! I said the same thing as soon as I saw the new Ropecaster ability. I was like well jee, I can tie down anything in the game w just 1 or 2 ropes anyway, so why would I want a shorter duration?? Very, very stupid new ability.

When I started HZD a few months ago I watched a movie style video of it. I remember watching Aloy beat Hades and thinking i wouldn't be able to get to that point even on story mode. I beat the game after 100 hours and I was stoked. I started watching your videos after starting FW. Thanks to you, I just started a New Game + on Normal mode. I "discovered" something that's been very helpful to me (since I went for UH without being a NG+). It's using the Stalker cammo valor surge + stealth strike +2 (+4), in a "non stealth way". It makes your stealth strikes deal almost 2k dmg, using smoke bombs you can do two or even three of those in a single surge duration to kill a big machine without using any resources (aside from the 60g from smoke bombs), that's what I've been using for finishing off apex machines after I finished tearing down the components I want.

Yeah, no doubt Arktix deserves even one mention from Guerrila. The dedication he puts into creating guide videos about Horizon is amazing, and all of them rock solid to boot, learned many things from him.
My build consists on bows (hunter, warrior and sharpshot) one boltblaster and one ropecaster, all legendary of course. I however find myself spamming Hunter Bows with the instant Frost coils and then using the Carja's Bane with Elite Critical coils to do damage with the spreadshot.
My outfit is pretty much identical to yours aside that I use two of the Elite Stamina coils. Although your suggesting to use the other Coil that allows you to instantly drink potions and while running is a pretty sweet deal, and arguably better actually.

Watching a few of your loadout videos encouraged me to try weapons I don't normally rely on and opened my eyes on hunter bows, didn't realise how little damage they did compared to others. I've even really taken a liking to warrior bows now thanks to you. I usually struggle a bit taking on machines on "normal" (I'm not that skilled) but last night I took down thunderjaws and slaughterspines etc from testing all this and it felt so easy! I know Hard-Ultra Hard will still be a challenge but this actually seems like I'll be able to take on machines now without freaking out entirely.

Using the burst weapon technique on the Eye of the Storm is a great tip! I'll use that next time.
I've equipped mine with full concentration recently simply because elite frost is just too OP.
Interesting choice with Gravesinger's Lament. Might switch over too. Probably won't because the weapon's skin/design is my idea of 'Aloy's Bow'.
Still a good weapon to try out though.
I am missing some of the other viable options. This is definitely the best loadout, but not everyone plays like us. So making a 'best second choice' list would have been helpful.
I asked Paris for some of his calculations on whether one single elite weapon technique weave is better than a +2 Weapon stamina or +2 stamina regen weave.
Regen is better. Most of the best outfits already have that so +2 weapon stamina is sometimes the best call.
I've started using the knockdown shot weapon technique on the hunter bow to knock down smaller machines. 1 or 2 is enough for small/medium machines.
Weirdly enough, it doesn't stack with regular knockdown buildup.
So for bigger machines I either use a +2 weapon stamina weave or potions as it'll require 3 shots.
Power shots (lvl 3) + Tie that binds with full elite overdraw explosive canisters is able to take down the biggest machines without any ammo cost on UH. I believe some videos of that combo were posted in the Discord server. I think it was LaChancla and MrFancypants? But I am not sure.
Thanks Phos! Yeah in hindsight maybe I should have included a section at the end showing another end-game loadout variation I would recommend. For example, including the Tie That Binds instead of Last Argument for immobilization.
I agree stamina regen is more valuable than weapon stamina. I like the balance of +1 for each from the elite weave, but as Paris mentioned in his comment, +2 regen would be a very good option as well.
Interesting you've started using knockdown shot. I like that WT as well, but I guess I've always gravitated back to triple notch because I don't want to switch WTs mid-combat. I toyed around with having a 2nd/3rd hunter bow in the loadout specifically for KD at one point, but I decided I liked drill spikes better.
Slaz did show me that canister harpoon build yesterday. I'm going to work that into my rope caster master class 👍🏼

Awesome! That's a great choice. The blastsling is definitely the best way to get to low health. I just can't give up my drill spikes, so I rely on machines to get my to low health mostly 😂 Glad you found this helpful!

This is nearly my exact build now with a few changes. 1st against most enemies I use the rain of sparks since it’s usually not worth freezing them. 2nd I never find it worth hitting canisters since I just end up missing more shots than I hit. 3rd I only use my sharpshot bow against humans so I have the final chapter against enemies I’m using ancestors return with and the rope caster in other occasions incase I get overwhelmed.

Hey Arktix, something else you might want to add to the list of skills to remove: under the Infiltrator skills you want to disable _both_ of the Silent Strike Heal skills as well, if you're running a low-health build (like I am, because it rules). I don't actually use Silent Strike that much now that the rest of my build is so overpowered, BUT it turns out that using the Vine Cutter on metal flowers counts as a Silent Strike, which means clearing them out will also heal you.
I just tried using a shredder gauntlet with 2 ammo types, one for damage, one for tear. Aloy did manage to catch a few of them, since they came back, but most of them I wound up losing and had to craft more. (and yes, I used the technique you mentioned in another video, about moving in one direction to make the catching easier. didn't seem to work)

Nice loadout! Really got most bases covered, though there are some things I usually prioritize more. I'm just finishing up my first burning shores playthrough myself and preparing for NG+, and as such I've been setting up for my endgame loadout as well (would be finished but my save data from PS4 didn't transfer😭). My main damage source so far has been Carja's bane with warriors vigir valor surge, which I prefer over ranged master for the simple reason that it's better if you get crushed while it's active, since taking damage depletes stamina and ranged master is only better when you can leverage the extra stamina regen. But once I get Iriv's downfall I'll probably end up going back to it plus powershots, since that valor surge skips the ammo cost downside for the elite arrows (also, does powershots boost focused shot? I feel like I've heard that it doesn't, or is it that focused shot can't crit?). Defiance is also a insta pick as well, with the drill spikes and the powershots+splitting spike combo that decimates everything. Beyond that, I'm thinking sun scourge, TLG, and tie that binds, whike rounding it out with the carja's bane as an alternate damage source and crowd control. My only regrest is the loss of purgewater bombs, which I love for thier ability to absolutely shut down machines like fireclaws, scoechers, and ESPECIALLY elemental clawstriders (seriously, purgewater ruins these machines). TLG may have purgewater arrows, but they aren't nearly as potent as even the corrosive blastsling's bombs, at least from my memory.
So amazing guides you've made. I'm just following your early mid and end game must have weapons guide and trying to cope up. A sub to your channel man from my side. It's so helpful. Still I must say upgrading is damn pathetic and frustrating .
If I may add a critique/suggestion it would be to provide how to coil your weapons after a base game run. Maybe even after 1 run through burning shores. Many of us don’t use the duplication glitch so saying to use 5 legendary crits on a bow is nice but not really practical. Love your content though, you are the best I have found at horizon coverage 👍

I have to disagree with Ropecaster Expert being a hindrance. That 8-second Tiedown has helped me reload my Boltblaster or set up Triple Notch on my Hunter Bow before getting back to the fight.
I'm close to that, I play very hard, rain of sparks, eye of storm, gravesinger, blastforge, deethseeker, ancestors return. Eye of storms has 3 elite frost and 2 elite shock, everything else has elite crits. Everything crit was not intentional, I just happen to notice one day that it was like that. I still drop gravesinger for delta when not fighting large apex machines. With 3 elite overdraw, its just so fast and still powerful enough to kick ass on very hard.
Nice build! And that's smart to drop down to the Delta when you don't need the Gravesinger. Conserve that volatile sludge 👌🏼

This basically maximizes one shot kill from stealh with valour surge, low health buffs, elite precision arrow from Iriv's. Instant brittle, smoke bomb, then precision arrow from stealth. This can one shot a Thunderjaw on Ultra Hard. Rain of Sparks is for general use with spread shot - crazy damage. Land God for super high tear. Tie That Binds for utility, and Last Argument is mostly just for fun with drillspikes. Last Argument is mostly interchangeable for whatever I feel like messing with at the time, haha.
As much as I actually dislike low health builds, they are just too strong to ignore.
Your dedication to this game is next level, I finally put it down a while ago as I feel like there just isn't anything left to do - finished at Ghost Level 135. I will be eagerly awaiting Horizon 3!

How to get multiple elite coils?
@@setiawan.tatamiharja you can get them by doing multiple playthroughs, but there was also a duplication glitch you could exploit in the arena area. This glitch was originally patched, but players have subsequently found work arounds and have still been able to do it. I haven't played the game in quite a long time at this point so I'm not sure what the current status is and whether it can still be done.

Excellent guide, many thanks. Assuming you don't use the Arena duplication glitch to get extra coils, how many playthroughs do you need to do to get all the elite crit coils?
Also, for the Vanquisher, I found that yanking the stamina weave off the Nora Thunder Warrior got me all the stamina I needed; the other weave is a low health regen weave for faster regen. I find with that setup I never really run out of stamina (I might once I get to playing on UH, I guess?), and once I hit the 200HP threshold and the regen kicks in I become nigh-unkillable. The Defy Death valor surge is pretty excellent; almost as good a boost as Ranged Master, plus some other perks.

Yup! They’re ranged weapons, so the Low Health Ranged skill will boost their damage.

Thanks! And good question. It's true there's not really anything left to tackle lol. I'm using this to mess around in NG+ runs and just generally fighting machines to figure out new tactics and such.
Fun fact: TotLG with 5 elite tear and full stealth tear armor is still not enough to remove all things with one arrow. If I remember right (it was a while) this specifically is on the slaughterspine nexus cores, the tail and neck canister armor. Just ridiculous high defense. But you can still hit the resources as there’s small small SMALL openings in the design of the armor

I agree w most all your choices, aside for the Death Seeker. I really hate what they did to it, nerfing it to death like they did. I just can't justify using up a weapon slot just for Shock Arrows, which I hardly ever use anyway. I don't often go for exploding canisters either w how easy it is to inflict statuses now. Shock duration in this game is also too short imo.
Yes waterwing sound is annoying but you can fish very fast with it, great for shard farming!!!

Hey thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 😁 I don't think the Tactician is going to help with gauntlet runs. The race mechanics don't really rely on any of the skills perks it provides, unless you're damaging other racers with your mount, but that's not really effective.

I see a few similarities with my build - happy about that (I consider that as a confirmation that I’m doing at least a few things right ;-)
My no. 1 weapon is the GL with a full elite critical coil build (I finally have 5 - they all go here). If the occasion calls for it (tight groups of machines or rebels), I combine that with the Chain Burst valor surge (I think we talked about this in a previous comment section).
That’s were the similarities with your build end, though.
I’m a Hunter player, so although I’ve used other weapons before, it’s all bows for me: 4 hunter and 2 sharp shot bows.
My Sun Scourge is coiled up for frost, the Death Seeker’s Shadow is coiled up for shock, and the Tears of the Land God is coiled up for purge water. Being fully upgraded, those bows do their jobs very nicely, even if I need to triple notch for instant effect.
The 4th hunter bow on my weapon wheel is the Emperor’s Reign coiled up for attack. It’s got the strongest advanced arrows and in that config it suffices for one shot-ing smaller machines.
I complement this with 2 sharp shot bows: the Gravesinger’s Lament (full legendary crit build as mentioned above): this is my “hunter bow on steroids”, and Irivs Downfall which I’ve coiled up for… (wait for it…) TEAR. I have two 100% sharp shot bow tear coils, those are too good to pass on. I made it a full tear build on Iriv’s: one shot, one tear, regardless of the machine. The only downside I have there is that it uses the same arrows as my GL for attack. But those are quickly crafted in a pinch.
My tactical approach is this: disarm OP machine if needed using Iriv’s, induce elemental state with the appropriate hunter bow, then use (default) GL to finish the job.
It’s fun going on Big Machine Hunting Safari like this, even on Very Hard.

How would you recommend coiling the Sun Scourge for those who have duplicated their coils & thus can use whatever they want?
I know I'm a bit late, but I still prefer the Nora Thunder Warrior for a low health playstyle. I just use 2 low health ranged coils since I really like the low health regen over the low health valor being maxed out. The shortened regen time is just too good for me, especially when getting perma stunned by a group of machines, and I only ever use cleanse potions in combat, which I can just pop smoke if I need that.
Another great video! Loadout is very similar to what I landed on.
My only criticism is that I would like to see builds with coil counts that are reasonable for a single playthrough and/or a single NG+ playthrough *without* duping. The legitimate choice of how to use a limited stock of elite coils and even how that limitation might affect weapon choice (e.g., is Eye of the Storm as good a replacement for The Sun Scourage without a full five Elite Frost coils?) is unfortunately lost here.

Also, at 2:20 I mention my new coiling guide, so I figured people could use that to find alternative coil recommendations. Overall, I’d say if you don’t have multiple copies of elite coils, you’d just want to use the purple equivalents.

Agree 100% on Vanquisher armor, though you may want to always blast yourself to critical health and use a low health regen coil to optimize its benefits. You get to survive anything that's not fire or plasma damage on Ultra Hard, and you're back to "peak" health in a matter of seconds

I thought I was alone in choosing DSS over TotLG, but it’s much more useful for the way I play (especially with access to elite coils). I do wish the two bows could have been combined (like an upgraded Lightning HB). I also switch out Sun Scourge for Eye of the Storm, but only in the DLC. I find the accuracy at range more useful in the main game. If the Bilegut and Waterwing were not both pouncer-type machines, perhaps, I’d not feel the need to switch them, but both these new machines try to stay right on top of Aloy, so…Sun Scourge goes to inventory.
Cool! Yeah the DSS is still really solid. And I agree the Eye of the Storm is especially useful for those Burning Shores machines.

No official news yet, but I think it could be as early as this December. Some obscure leaks have suggested this could be the case and the timing makes sense to me. Could easily be early/mid 2024 though. I’d be surprised if it released later than mid 2024. I’ll be sure to post about it when there’s any solid news 👍🏼

How about using Nora thunder warrior with 2 elite weaves which basically gives all essential skill upgrade for low heath build? The only downside is losing potion proficiency but getting bunch of skills from archer tree
melee defense on that armor is kind of dog shit, on legendary its 55 vs 38 purple in defense I believe dont remember exact number. you might actually get two shot for missing 1/4 defense status. and concentration is not that important when u spam warrior bow and potion :o.

The other drawback to TotLG is that it looks too similar to Gravesinger's Lament: I'll often think I'm holding one when it's really the other. I wonder if anyone else has that problem
Using this set of weapons, Ultra Hard feels easier than normal did my first time. It's insane.
There are Armors w a Food Duration buff that you can just throw on real quick to double your Food effect to 15 minutes @ Level 4, then just switch back.
I ASSUME the duration doesn't suddenly get reduced if you switch armors? If so, then there's no real reason not to do this before using a Food item. This game REALLY needs a quick swap option for both Weapons AND Armor!
Honestly, the problem w Food is how its implemented, being only able to hold 5 at a time. Why they tried to somehow make THIS aspect of the game more "realistic", is beyond me. The game is already plenty unrealistic as it is. Food would be SO much more useful if you could actually hold a proper amount of it at once!
I honestly hate that the new Warrior Bow is all Elemental. Elemental ammo is still more expensive to craft than regular Warrior Bow bolts. I'd rather use those with Insta Chance coils.
& honestly, w all those Elite Coils, what purpose does using the new Warrior Bow serve? Why not just do this with the Carja's Bane which has stronger/cheaper regular bolts? At least you'd be doing more damage before the element kicks in that way, and also won't have the chance of Corrode kicking in instead of Frost.
I do like your comments about Warrior Bows vs Boltblasters, & I fully agree. You're just too immobile w Boltblasters to use them against anything but giant machines or ones that are knocked down, and DEFINITELY not against big groups of machines!
That said, I'd MUCH rather use the Carja Bane for my Insta Chance coils & Rain of Sparks for damage, due to it coming with Crit Chance & Crit Damage perks! Yes, insta Burning is annoying, but I just deal w it & consider it a free stun which isn't so bad.
Being that I haven't played thru the game 10x times to have as many Coils as you do lol, this makes the most sense for me. If I had 10x Elite Crit Coils then I suppose I'd consider doing what you did too.
Bro, I'm using the glowblast rn and I noticed that whenever I freeze an enemy, my crit chances go higher and I nearly hit 3k damage in one shot with 3 elite crit coils.

The glowblast's regular precision arrows are very nice from a resource efficiency standpoint!
I wish I could use iriv without worrying about the resource heavy arrows. I used delta sharpshot for damage after using the death seeker. Now I'm about to switch to warden sharpshot cause it's got great impact with 2 purple impact coils and a purple crit chance coil.
Do you have any suggestions? I just need a good purple bow that's resource efficient and powerful.
If you want to avoid using volatile sludge, then the glowblast and delta are your best options.

I will never be able to play at this level. I’ve tried using some of the techniques you talk about in your other videos, trying to be more deliberate about how I play, and I’m just sooo bad at it.

Is the Crit build on the AR stronger than 5 Elite Overdraw? or, same same? I'm using 5 Elite shock right now for a change of pace while farming parts in advance of my first UH run...
So overdraw coils won’t do anything on a shredder because you can’t overdraw a shredder. So, yes, the crit build is stronger!

Because of this video, i really do think Guerilla should add maybe a loadout setup or option in the game or next game especially now that they have outfits that specializes a specific skill (warrior, hunter, etc.)
I do have one question though, is it worth it to use a lot of advanced ammos even though you can only carry 15 max volatile sludge? I find it hard sometimes when i run out of sludge and cant get to shoot some ammos I need. Or maybe i'm doing it wrong 😅😅
Oh yeah. Being able to set loadouts and swap them quickly would be excellent 👌🏼 "Worth it" is hard to say. Depends on your playstyle and ability to use the ammo effectively. 15 can definitely be limiting sometimes, but if you don't use too many ammos that require volatile sludge, then you'll rarely run out mid-fight. It's also important to be looting machines that drop volatile sludge (primarily Apex ones) to replenish it.

I appreciate your content, it helped me immensely, but I just wish you would give realistic coil recommendations. All of those u mentioned are not obtainable without using the dupe arena glitch. I mean cmon, 5 elite crit coils, while you can only obtain 1 legit way.
Thanks! Glad you've found my content helpful. I understand what you're saying about coils, but it's very simple to just substitute in a lower rarity coil for what I'm showing. Also, this is the ultimate build after all. I have dedicated coiling videos that going into coil recommendations in more detail. You can actually obtain duplicate coils if you don't want to do the glitch, but you have to do multiple NG+ playthroughs.
The single most annoying thing about the new flying mount is the noise of their wings flapping.
AR will always be the single best weapon in the game, regardless of any other possible Shredder (I look at u non-existent frost-Shredder)!

Defy Death is pretty good to get you in the low health state, but there’s other ways to get into the low health state fairly easily (damage yourself, wait until a machine damaged you enough, etc.). So, personally, I think the valor surge slot can be used more effectively.
Yup! I said the same thing as soon as I saw the new Ropecaster ability. I was like well jee, I can tie down anything in the game w just 1 or 2 ropes anyway, so why would I want a shorter duration??
